I was wondering too that why they didn’t just do a DNA test. Or probably Wang ShiTu knew his real son is actually dead and just can’t give up. I thought the car accident scene may be a hint where he saw his son with his wife. I felt that this current Xiao Qi was the teenager kid he interviewed earlier.

That’s true, there were several hints dropped and even Wang ShiTu seems somehow very certain that he knew Xiao Qi. When Xiao Qi saw the family and kids pix in Wang ShiTu’s house, he seems to recognise something. let’s see how this unveil further;)

I was wondering that if he is Bian Jie, maybe he is back to revenge or really change a new life. He does really cares for the mother. I was hoping that too, that he is Wang ShiTu’s lost son, he deserves a good ending😓.

I agreed with you. With her trauma and betrayal experience, I don’t think it will easy for her to fall in love. I am not sure whether she has fallen for him.

Not confess, she was half drunk hence disinhibited and she started to share her views about ML. No kiss yet but they were almost there. This is a slow burn story, so I don’t think there will be a kiss so soon.

Ep 17, the latest. FL in her drunk state said ML very good looking, pretty etc… several times.;)

So it’s his sister that accidentally hurt the real Bian Jie in 1993, however the ending shown he got away while his step father is trying to bury him. So Xiao Qi could be the real BianJie disguised as Xiao Qi??? Such mystery! Maybe more twist to come as still have 12 more ep to go.

I read some commenters mentioned that Ye Shi Jie’s father is eldest son of the family and had died with his wife, leaving Ye Shi Jie alone staying with his second uncle.

I love Crystal liu’s acting. Reading the synopsis, this feels like FL has to go through lots of losses and grow story. Someone mentioned in the novel that FL ends up alone, that sounds depressing. Will check in comments again later to see whether I will pick this up.

The 3rd Uncle really loves his sister, Ye Zhen Zhen, thought he was crying because of that, as he called her name.

That’s a good point, now you mentioned, I also wonder. Initially I thought Ye Shi Jie is Ye Ming Xuan’s son, Jia Er’s brother. But then he did call Ye Ming Xuan as second uncle and not father 😅.

My guess is that it’s embarrassment and shame for her part if she allows her step daughter, Jiang Li to be taken care by off maternal family. But agreed with you, JL would have been happy if she left to maternal side when young.
