This is an interesting discussion here. Thought wanted to point out pessimism in its way is also a method of making sense of reality and coping. For the Chinese culture, it’s not that sad to think about it, actually the opposite, it’s liberating to believe one can come back and live different lives and eventually be part of the universe. 😅

But because I saw how TJC portray this, it may already change my perception of MQC.

I didn’t read the novel yet, planning to during the break of ep. this few days. But read about it from other commenters here mentioning that the drama has made changes to some things and added some scenes. But I always feel changes will be needed for drama adaptation, as long the essence is still there. I like what they have done here. The ML had fallen for the FL’s singing voice long ago, and by accident found her chat page on cooking and started chatting about food recipe with her. He then slowly progresses to get her to sing and arrange to meet. Such a smooth guy. Yes! Quite a leap of faith for them, what if both parties don’t like each other at first sight😅, but only love each other voices. Saw some clips that the drama will address this later. Think FL will ask ML “what if I love your voice more than you…” I am eager to see that scene. Thought this drama also quite insightful of audience needs, as they will also soon address the age issue, which is what most audience are concern with.;)

Yeah! Totally agreed with you. This is a gem to watch for Xmas. Like a line in the show by ML: “love can be so simple and uncomplicated.” Romance can be simple, direct, pure with no need of complication. Love this, I kept this as the main core watch, the rest of the drama became filler for me🤣.
