She knew who he is after the bandit soldier mentioned it. I suspect he knew who she is too as he is portrayed to be smart and he so far can guess her every move, so based on his deduction, he probably already knew who she is.

So far the first 4ep., the story and pacing is good. The acting and chemistry are also strong, both ML/FL fit their roles.

Yeah, I don’t think she intends to hide that she is a woman, and I think everyone knew she is a woman. But she is a General, and she wants to portray her image as fierce and authoritative in her rank.

Ah since you mentioned, that’s so true. Their faces look somewhat alike. I am also surprised how young JT’s look despite her age.

I feel for viewers sake, the first 4 ep., we already seen the couple fight, flirt, spin hug, lady being carried, gone through some small difficult events together to have deeper understanding for each other. So quick but yet coherent, guess this is to prepare us for more heartbreaks later on.

Finished 4 ep., in my opinion it’s good. The pacing, story telling are so far coherent. I always like Xu Kai’s acting, however his recent dramas just didn’t pick up, but I think this one will. Jing Tian’s beauty is ageless and the two CP are surprisingly quite compartible. The couple’s troupe is old school writing. I am more excited to see how they will work together to accomplish common goals. It’s only the beginning, still pretty lighthearted and simple.

I have been to YunNan, but not yet to Dali. However after this drama, have been thinking and maybe someday will plan to go there.

After 10 months of finishing this drama and trying other modern drama. I would still say this drama has a special place in my heart. The good acting, the CP natural chemistry, the storyline, truly a slice of life of friendship, love and personal growth. The whole set up is done in YunNan, location are beautiful, serene and refreshing, an element of growth exploration and progressive healing. For anyone looking for a good drama and can slow down your pace to watch this, I guaranteed it will give you a moment of re-looking at your own life, at the end.

I didn’t read this novel, but in recent interview, Xu Kai said this drama has lots of angst scene for him while filming it, I do hope this screenplay has a good balance. The trailers look promising.
