Yes, I agreed. I do think with what had happened, he would be dead by then. That’s so true about his name, I see so in Buddhism, lotus is symbolic. I feel one of the key theme for this drama is about fixation vs letting go. So LLH finally ‘let go’. I guess the bromance can continue for FDB and DFS now;).
Okay, I finished to ep 40 and also the epilogue, ep 40.5 which I wonder why they added that as the last ep ends…
Some thoughts: Ep39, was an adrenaline pumping ep., love that the trio is back! Epic fight scenes between LLH and SGD; FDB and DFS; including everyone, all have a brief clip of their battle. And FDB’s underground training really help him to improve his fight skills, thanks to SGD. Somehow I wasn’t at all surprise by the ending twist or LXY’s birth origin, had a gut feel of it for a long while, so my guess is right about him. Just wonder why his teachers never feel the need to clarify or tell them both earlier. SGD is really a tragic joke. I pity Jiang LiQiao’s death, good that DFS ends it, but that scene felt flat for me, maybe expected her to have more epic death. And the end ep. 40, everybody was just gathered at the beach and saying regrets of not saving LLH…lol. I am also puzzled the purpose of the epilogue - the director wants to give audience a guessing game of LLH dead or alive. But I guess he is likely dead, based on how he was. But would have prefer an alternative ending where he and FDB and DFS went travelling. Guess the team just don’t want him to live after all these. IMO overall this drama is a good watch till the last 7 ep., I just felt suddenly everything speed up, rush and the villain became single track minded, repetitive in some dialogue sequence. I am still processing with mixed feelings that it ends.
What did I missed? Why did SGD exploded internally?
You didn’t miss anything, it was not explain. I speculate that it was because after LLH break his meridian, he was already quite badly injured and when he tried to exert towards the throne, his inner body just exploded.

Thanks for the reply. That’s the part I am finding it all happened to conveniently. Her being rescued to able to poison DFS’s skilled right hand man. And to have SGD captured him so easily, all happened too rush.
Just watched ep 33 - 36. The script has been good so far except these few ep., I am seeing some logic that I can’t wrap my head around. Like why DFS can be so easily captured by SGD. How come LLH is able to deduce lots of the clue yet always let SGD get to it first. May be I need to take a pause and watch later on. Need sometime to digest the happenings.

I dropped LOA halfway, can’t continue as the story and character were poorly written, IMO.😓 The screenplay didn’t give enough emphasis on original book. The original story is darker.

Depends on which character you follow. But I would take from FL’s perspective so it’s her ‘lost love forever’. As there can be a few interpretation😄. Yes there is a good ending if you see FL finally has someone to accompany her and one of the ML gets his love fulfilled. Won’t want to spoil too much🤣.
