hahah…I like the term cartoonish villain. Thought it’s interesting that this drama swings from being so serious to comedy. I thought the side plot was to show how this CP triumphs over difficult challenges and works very well as a team. It also set up a reason for ML to be promoted to magistrate in such a short period of time to this new town.

Hmmm…just sharing my perspectives and fruit for thought. This whole drama has its emphasis from TTJ’s viewpoint, hence we really don’t see the inner thoughts and struggles of LSS/YXW. BL done a great job with her dilemma in emotions, if you look closely. She protected him several times unconditionally and was even willing to sacrifice herself and gave TTJ her divine essence to keep him alive. It may not be shown clearly in this drama. But YXW and LSS are same person. YXW is a fragment of LSS’s soul. So when LSS first returned as YXW, she was also as naive and clueless, she also have to maintain YXW’s image. But subtly you see how LSS/YXW was kinder to TTJ. The LSS who encounter all the experiences, when she returned back, would you see a more complete and mature LSS. If you watched till the last arc, after she accepted CJM, they were very lovely together but sadly short lived.

Just want to say for this ep. YQY shows his resilience and altruism to embrace his loss and grief, and choose to serve the nation and bring peace to people. He truly shows a sacrifice for greater well-being of others. TTJ despite his Nether waters suffering, I felt this costume is still one of his best, the color and flow of the fabric, hangs perfectly on LYX’s slender and tall physic, I love this costume.

Hugzzz, pull through next few ep. A new arc will begin.

Finally get to watch ep 5, after all the effort, her brother still dies, couldn’t change his fate. Sad.

I am also following Hidden Love and Destined. Started on Ancient Love Song too, but the release is quite slow. Is the Outsider good? K drama - watching See you in my 19th Life, not too bad.

Just completed. Satisfactory, at least CWD is back and with MX. Although his survival defies logic. No growth for BFY and WJG, two wasted character with much potential. Felt it started so well, then went down hill in the middle to end. But MX’s character growth is great. Likes her image as Madam Tang, so powerful and manipulative. lol! What’s next for you?

Still remember when we first waiting for this ep. Most of us, including myself was wondering how much agony it will cause. And the pain is no less even I re-watched. It’s an ep of so much sorrow, for both YQY and TTJ. We see the whole process of TTJ’s bargaining to ask YXW to stay and trying to convince her to stay. Then the disbelieve even after she is gone. Till the end of desperation and total lost of meaning of life. YXW was his only meaning to life. The best performance by LYX and his range of emotions, should give him an Oscar here.

As I predicted earlier, the ending felt rush and convenient. I am glad CWD survived but his survival was so force as logically he would have died with that kind of impact. Then till the end both WJG and BFY characters were such a disappointment for me, didn’t feel that they have grown much. However I really love the growth of MX and her maturity as Madam Tang was nicely put together and her plans to clear CWD’s name was well thought out. Good to see WY survived too and at least he redeem himself by helping MX at the final lap. It’s overall a good drama with a great start but somehow fallen short in its story writing at the middle and ended a little presictably lame. But I had fun following the journey of MX.

Completed…kind of satisfactory ending butt…
