I agreed with you. He didn’t chose it. He sees through all the option and there is no other way. But it’s not force and not suicide, His choice here is self-sacrifice for greater good. Alternatively I was always thinking that he can choose to rule as DG since he is not controlled by DG 1.0, but he didn’t want to, as suffering will still continues and the pain from it will not transcend. So that’s the choice he made, destroyed DG once and for all.

Interesting perspective. Wondering why would you say so about the story. If you follow the story, it’s a fantastic story and the team tried it’s best to give a sincere adaptation from novel to the drama. I won’t compare it to L&R, because this has so much better fight scenes, costumes and CGI. To raise a star, sure you can say that for any drama. But for viewers, IMO, whether an actor can act or can’t, it’s very very obvious. So here LYX and BL done a splendid job! It’s not the actor that we’re make pitiful here, it’s the story that is written that way. But if this is not for you, feel free to drop it.

This is not a lovey dovey romantic relationship. Those who came with unrealistic expectation, May be disappointed with how it ended. However it’s also due to cuts and edits. The story is filled with angst even to the end. But there very sweet moments. However it’s worth it as a matured love relationship between star-crossed lovers that were not really meant to be together. However here it’s a good ending. If you watch on with open mind and will enjoy the experience. But that’s my opinion, can always dropped it if it’s not for you😊.

For another angle, it’s a rush open ending. Not really unhappy ending. For various reasons. The audience followed the couple struggles for too long, all wish to see their ending have a longer sweet moments.

If they keep to original ending, it’s HE. But now really not hopeful, however for this drama, I am more sure it will be a good ending between the two leads. Their love story is not as complicated. Actually both TSL and TTEOTM has HE, just that wasn’t shown in the drama because of the cuts 😓.
