He didn't avoid but he responded late... Bcoz he was caught up in some situation but he completely didn't avoid SY.

I also felt the same after watching ep.1 hence I dropped it :( Her acting is too OTT for my taste.

Yeah & I believe in writers coz S2 was shot along with S1 so I'm sure they've developed the story well for both the seasons (not like other BLs, where S2 was made just coz s1 was a hit) so I hope & believe S2 won't let us down *fingers crossed*

I loved your theory coz it feels too close to mine as well. But I feel Shide's reason must be more than just his mom giving birth. I mean it could be some financial problem or something else that he felt too embarrassed to share with Shuyi (Also Shide is someone who bottles things up to himself rather than sharing) but yes, some things are better to be explained in person rather than on sns coz many times they come across as lame excuses. I don't question their characters now but I really hope writers have valid reasons to bail them out of the situation.

I feel at this point SY is not ready for any excuses from SD. And there must be a valid reason I believe for SD to not clearing things with SY way earlier (remember in special episode, he actually packed his things up to clear with SY) so, I'm still waiting to see how the writers would pull this off without any plotholes

And yes I know communication can solve a lot of things but cum on we humans always complicate things, don't we?

To those who are confused, I suggest you to watch the first 1.38 minutes of episode 1,then watch the special episode & then continue ep. 1 from where you left. It's making lot of sense.

So here goes my theory: SD promised SY that he would be back to Taiwan in few months but due to some reasons he couldn't (I'm sure will be revealed soon) also he didn't respond much to SY's messages which made SY miss him more & he visited SD to surprise him, only to witness him with a girl & a baby (of course he could've confronted him then & there but since he loves SD & he knows how sad SD was when his parents broke up, SY chose to leave silently but to him, SD betrayed him hence SY harbors hatred for SD). As for SD, you can see the special episode why he avoided SY's messages intially & how he was caught up in a messy situation but he actually went to clear things with SY but something happened and they couldn't meet (I think this could be due to SY's dad's involvement). But I really hope they have valid reasons for it.

There's a lot of misunderstandings that are need to be addressed and hope they'll do it properly in the upcoming episodes
