For me, this was a great premise, but the execution fell flat.

The real trolls on this page are those who keep bringing up King The Land when no one else does.

They can't dispute the valid criticisms that are brought forth, so they say, "You're a fan of KTL and are trying to put down this show," when any idiot could tell that both shows can't be compared because they're not even the same genre. - One is an over-the-top silly rom-com and the other is a fantasy melodrama. Who in their right mind would compare both in the first place?

MDL generally marks dramas as complete on the day the last episode is GOING to be aired, even though the episode won't be aired for hours.

This means that people review saying they completed watching it even before the show finishes airing.

It's a flawed system.

I would suggest you never watch any of this writer's work if you want to watch something with romance. She has famously said that she will NEVER write romance.

As a genuine fiction lover... This drama is mediocre. But not so bad as to drop because I'm a fan of SHS and I'm hoping that they can still turn things around.

I have to disagree with the chemistry comment though.

Even the worst written dramas are forgiving for lack of good plot, bad music direction etc., if the main characters have sizzling chemistry (be it romance/bromance). The reason everyone notices all the issues in the drama is because of the lack of chemistry.

And if you want to see what a hater really looks like, you should check out the pages like Start Up and where a massive ship war occurred and people down voted the drama to 1/10 (even created fake profiles to down vote the drama) because their ship didn't happen even though they enjoyed most of it. They down vote the drama because seeing a high rating annoys them so much. That's a hater.

If you look at this page, people are saying their opinions and even bringing in examples for the criticisms they have. To call everyone who has a valid criticism 'haters' is a gross exaggeration.

Don't let the negativity get to you. Focus more on those comments that are enjoying it and interact with them the most. And the most important thing to remember is how boring life would be if we all had the same taste. We would never have anything new, ever.

I don't think 7 is that low tbh. I'm a generous rater and I very rarely rate below a 6. But I do like to take everything into consideration when I rate a drama. I like to give a drama the benefit of doubt and start my mental rating at 10 and then reduce point by point as we get to the end.

For me, the writing of the drama has been the weakest element, the bad music selection and the lack of chemistry within the cast coupled with how boring most of the episodes are... It landed as a solid 7 for me.

If the acting was bad, it would have been a 6. Maybe even a 5.

In my mind, 0.5 point will be reserved for the ending. So depending on how they wrap it up, it might be 7.5 or 6.5.

But that's me. If you are enjoying this, that's great. Not everyone will like every single show/movie/book etc. And not all of us will like it to the same degree either. None of us are strange.

I agree. I haven't read the webtoon, but based off my own experience of watching this, I think it's a solid 7/10. It's not bad, but it's not good either.

Does anyone else think that sometimes the background music for normal scenes is a combination of Hitchcock horror sounds with the bow chicka wow wow from bad 80's p*rn movies??? (I'm talking specifically about the scene when they are in the villa together)

Because the background music is so ridiculous I can't stop laughing... LMAO.

Thanks. I appreciate you taking the time to explain your opinion on the changes. I'm someone who gets upset when a book I love changes too much in its movie/tv show adaptation, so it's nice to hear from someone who can look at the changes in a positive light.

Cool. In your opinion, were the changes they made from the webtoon to the drama good changes? All readers of the webtoon have shown disappointment in how they changed the story, so I'm interested in the opinion of someone who might have liked the changes and have seen it as an improvement.
