That said, their situation isn't ideal or necessarily right and this drama addresses this fact repeatedly, the writers never try to whitewash the problem and that's probably why we as viewers are so forgiving. And then there's the great script and story telling. We get how similar they are despite the age gap, how they are perfect for each other. They are both weird outsiders but when they are together they shine and are on the same strange wavelength. They also have a mature relationship and he respects her as his equal. He isn't grooming her or anything, she's actually safer with him than with a horney teenager.
We don't know yet, all we have is lots of fan theories and the writers playing mind games. Every episode I change my mind so I can't even give you my prediction.
