I think novels might be banned soon if they become too popular, but it all depends on who's in power.

And then there's the frightened side that likes to play it safe with the same firefighting drama every three months.
Indiana Jones was a mega hit, so were all the Sci-Fi movies that Hollywood has made. This drama is the same but in Mandarin, so I still don't get it. 🤷🏼♀️
Sorry I didn't make myself clearer, my point in mentioning Mo Du was because I think now no company will touch BLs. I also think the pulling was more to do with the corruption theme, but the damage has already been done for WIK, Immortality, Guardians Of The Lands and all the rest of the BLs waiting in line.
The Untamed was aired when their law was that you could have a censored version of a BL book. But since then their law has changed and it now prohibits any drama adaptations from a BL novel, even if it's toned down to a friendship. A few months ago a company did try to air one and it even passed the censorship committee, but the drama was pulled off air after only 8 episodes.
