Title TharnType
Finished TharnType weeks ago but haven't watch the special '4 years after' episode yet. Unpopular opinion here: the story is quite enjoyable but I don't really get the hype. It is quite a fun watch but not really the best BL like most people are hyping it up to be. I personally thought that although Mew acts well, his age kinda shows and I find myself thinking that he is too old to be playing Tharn. Perhaps better makeup and camerawork will make it believable but I do realized that this is not a big-budget production. I feel like the main reason this series become very popular is due to the love scenes(exchanging ice cubes with tongues, lol) and chemistry between Mew and Gulf. Just my two cents' worth. PS...like what I mentioned earlier I enjoyed the show and do not hate it, just don't know why it was hyped up so much. Guys, pls don't come for me, lol!

The comment I made is based on the fact that this nutcase who called herself Rebecca Blaque goes around commenting on many Thai BL dramas accusing many people of racism, colorism, of being white skin-worshippers, and of being discriminatory towards dark-skinned people. You can read Soju's comment above who excellently point out this nutcase's habit of making hateful comments and seeing racism in every single thing. She has nothing better to do than being an online troll, and I am just pointing out her vile nature.

This Rebecca girl is an SJW who loves to make silly comments and accusations. She will go on and on about racism and how Thais are being white skin-worshipping racists. She is in fact obsessed with being racist towards people with light/fair skin. I suspect she doesn't have a day job so all she does is posting hateful comments online. I would advise people here to ignore her as she loves to start fights and arguments since she has nothing better to do. I actually felt sorry for her family, I wonder how they can put up with her hateful, vile nature? lol

Does anyone here knows if there are any official plans to release this novel in English? Jittirain released Theory of Love in English, I was hoping this novel will be her next one to be translated as well.

I know Lhong is the villain here in this series but Kaownah who play him is such a cutie!!! The scene where he perform in the bar with his band was a joy to watch and when the performance ended he said 'Thank You' in such a cute way that my heart melted, hahaha! Hope to see more of him, preferably not as a villain role, hehe!

I don't know what happen here but so far P'New seems to do a lousy job of directing and adapting this story. I agreed with most people here that the pace is really slow and draggy. It's not that I can't handle a slow-burn romance, it's just that those scenes are quite long-winded and boring; perhaps a better editing job would have made a huge difference. A few other complaints:
1) Manow the character seems to be stuck doing silly lame jokes that falls flat most of the time. Samantha is a really likable actress but seeing her doing all these stupid jokes just doesn't seem to do her any justice. She was a joy to watch in Love By Chance but right now the jokes they have her performed are quite flat and not funny at all.
2) The awkward acting. I know most of these kids are new actors but the acting leaves much to be desired. Maybe it's becos the other BL series running right now: TharnType has much better acting performance from its cast. Fluke is great and Boun is exceptional; everytime his character appears he steals the scene. Ohm is honestly quite stiff but no complains about his smoldering looks though, haha. Didn't really see much so far of Earth and Nine but I don't know why I never enjoy Earth's performance, ever since the Love By Chance days. Imo, he is the weakest link of the cast. I'm sorry but he is far too sissy in his acting here that I just tune out whenever he appears. Even his crying annoys me. I might be biased here, lol!
3) The loud music that suddenly pops out during certain emotional scenes actually harm the scenes more than it seems to help it. It gets quite annoying that suddenly Boy Sompob's voice will be all over the scene and it really gets on my nerves. His music and songs that appear in Love By Chance were such a great fit and here it invokes a different response in me. I'm just not feeling it. I also have a complaint on why they play that awful 'sad and something is screwed' music when Mean's character flirts with Pharm in the cooking class, with Manow and Del watching. That scene is quite funny in the novel and this should have been written as a funny scene and instead they play that god-awful music like someone has died or get screwed. Wth?????
4) Fluke's nostril hairs needs to be trimmed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am watching this in HD in my PC monitor and in quite a few of the scenes his nose hair is so long and noticeable that it spoils those scenes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is the make-up Dept doing their job at all??????? It honestly really messes with my attention that whenever I see Fluke now I will subconsciously try to spot if any nose hair is showing, hahaha!

Hopefully the show gets better but I don't have the same excitement I feel when I'm waiting for a new episode to show every week, unlike TharnType or Theory of Love. Something just always seems to be off with this series so far. Right now, I'm only watching it for Boun's bad boy character and Ohm's killer looks.

Director New is literally one of the most racist directors out there. The main role called for a dark skin half…
From what I have remember reading from JayBL's unofficial translation of the early chapters, Dean is only 1/4 Middle Eastern heritage, not half. Middle East does not only consists of Arabs but there are other races as well, most of them would have quite fair skin. It is said in the novel that Dean is slightly tanned from all the swim training done and Ohm who is cast as Dean looks slightly tanned as well. How much darker can a 1 quarter Middle Eastern Thai guy gets????? I would know as I have many Thai colleagues and I live in a country that is just bordering Thailand. You are being unrealistic here. I don't see how this makes the director being racist at all. The way you accusing him of being racist, however seems quite racist to me. It reminds me of Western Imperialism, of those colonials imposing their Western views and ways on us supposedly uneducated Asians, as the Western ways are "far more superior". I don't want to bring race into this discussion but hey, since you started it first let me just give you my sincere opinion. Not sure if you are from America or Latin America or Europe but if you are, then I can say we don't need Westerners lecturing us Asians about what is racism and colorism; we know it ourselves as we have experience this from Westerners for a long long time. We don't need modern Western liberals to fight our battles, we can fight our own and we never invite you to do so. And yes, if you are born in the West, no matter what color your skin is, or what race you are, you are still going to be a Westerner in our Asian eyes, so don't try to pretend otherwise. Thanks Love.

Parm and Dean are way more hotter than their past self characters
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't agree more with you on that!!!!!!!!! I believe Nine is quite good-looking as well but I'm sorry to say I don't feel the same about Earth. I feel like he's not good-looking enough and he looks too sissy for the role, and his acting in Love By Chance is nothing to shout about. Maybe he will change my mind when this show finally airs? Perhaps but we will see.

It's quite horrendous the English translation, to be honest. The first two chapters were okay as I believe it was proofread by someone but the rest,.....let's just say they made me lose interest in reading the rest of the novel, hahahaha! I hope the author will be releasing an official English translation of it as per what Jittirain has done with Theory of Love. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it as from what I had read so far of JayBL's translations of this before she abruptly stopped it, the story is quite good.

Fluke and Ohm looked so good together!!! I believe they are perfectly cast for those two main roles! Can't wait to start watching this when it airs!!!

Hmm, I believe there might be a delay for the English subs to be uploaded for Ep. 11 as Monday 12 Aug 2019 is a Public Holiday in Thailand (Queen Mother's Birthday). I believe the same delay happens previously as well with one of the episodes. Hopefully I'm wrong but no matter, I will still be patiently waiting for the subs as always.

I didn't say that a complex drama would have more scenes of angst and heartbreak. I am just describing the type of show this particular drama falls on. In comparison with most BL shows out there, this one plays and messes with one's emotions more. I get that you don't want Third to end up with with Khai after the way he was being treated by him earlier, but I think as per how the plot goes those two are going to end up together no matter what, haha! But the show actually left many clues in reference to Third's true feelings; he never really gotten over Khai and was and still is deeply in love with him all this time. It's just that in Khai's POV, it seems as if Third has moved on as Third is someone who is good at hiding his emotions, and in those scenes we are seeing what Khai sees. In reality, he has not moved on at all. Hehe, this is what I like about the show, I feel like it's a very faithful adaptation of the novel so far. Anyway, I'm just sharing my opinion. We can always agree to disagree :-)

OF course their relationship is toxic as hell the way it is right now, but can't deny it's entertaining to watch…
I think you are taking this too seriously. This is just a work of fiction. In the BL genre, angsty shows such as this appeals to most fans. Shows are there to entertain, not to educate. And I don't think the relationship between Khai and Third is toxic at all, it's those one-sided love stories that most people would be familiar with at some point of time in their lives. I've been there before, liking a close friend, and this person ends up married to someone else, and I never confess my feelings at all. Obviously, being an entertainment show, drama-filled episodes are the normal plotlines cos we are all watching for the drama rite? Those who are involved in real life toxic relationships should seek therapy for themselves. I also don't think they would confuse a work of fiction as a true depiction of life. It is somewhat relatable, but not to that extent.

at first I was really enjoying the drama, but after so many episodes of a toxic relationship I'm starting to question…
You should have read the series synopsis here before watching this show then. It says here: "But when Third decides to stop, Khai decides to start." This plotline is actually part of the story, so no surprises there for me. But then again, I have read the unofficial fan translation of the novel, so I know what I'm getting myself into. This is not one of those lovey-dovey minimal drama-type shows such as Love By Chance, this one is more angsty and heartbreaking. I would suggest people to find out more about the storyline before immersing themselves into any show, as you might not find it to your liking later.
