I don't want to be THAT person, but sometimes it feels like emotional manipulation the way Joke says certain things to Zo. This episode felt more manipulative than past episodes. If I'm reading too much into it, let me know. Joke is almost scarily possessive as well. You don't tell someone you're going to give them time and space to figure things out, but then never leave their vicinity and constantly overwhelming them with your emotions. It feels like "love bombing".
The female lead stole a kiss just as they were about to part ways after getting rejected. This scene occurred…
One is an adult. One is a child. I don't find that concept difficult to understand. However, I'm not looking to change anyone's mind. Simply stating my opinion
I am extremely upset and disheartened to read the comments to find out the two main characters have an on-screen kiss. I just finished episode 1 and this appeared to be one of the best shows GMM has put on in a long time. This appears to be everything I thought Midnight Museum would be. But I don't care about the actual ages of actors, when they are portrayed as being an adult and a highschool student/child, any level of romance should be off limits. It is inappropriate. It's not about "separating reality from fiction". It's about feeding into the existence of inappropriate, and in some places illegal, "relationships" between an adult and a child. I don't find age gaps cute, fun, or funny. It is not hard to not depict romantic relationships between children and adults. If you're doing it, it's intentional.
I say all of that to say, episode 1 was amazing, but knowing they share an inappropriate moment, I'm dropping this series now.
Both are adults. And their age gap in real life isn't that much too. What's the wrong in shipping them?
I truly don't understand how dense and inappropriate you lot are. She is being portrayed as a teenager/student, a high school child, and he is a teacher. You shouldn't be ok with that.
Ok, this will be my last post about the show because I'm dropping it after episode 5. The dramatics around the pasta/spaghetti thing was comical. I absolutely understand where they are going with it, and what it represents, but it was poorly executed and was comical. Nanon just doesn't do it for me in either of these roles. The "trying to be cool" act is very cringe. I wanted more Off. But that's the problem with having so many protagonists. I see why the views from the first episode to now are what they are. I truly hope it gets better for all of you to enjoy. They promoted this so much, and this all-star cast, just for it to feel like a clunky and confusing mess, to me.
4 episodes in and I still don't fully see the direction this is going. The pacing and the drama reminds me a LOT of 'The Player'. And, as I've said before, not a fan of Nanon. I really wished they'd chosen someone else for that role. He doesn't have the "look" for it. And his acting feels very forced. It's kind of cringe.
What a trailer!! This is going to be so good! I'm excited for Mark having a main role and a more mature role. The acting looked AMAZING! I cannot wait!!
Ok, just finished the second episode. The pacing of this drama is reminiscent of "The Player", which I loved. I don't have any MAJOR critiques because it just started, but I think it'll be pretty good.
I do have some thoughts.
1. I am not a fan of Nanon. I know, I know. Everyone loves him. I simply do not. That's why I can't watch whatever series he's in. He just doesn't do it for me on screen. I wish someone else played his role.
2. Because of the OffGun ship, people tend to underestimate how versatile Off is as an actor. I can already tell he is going to deliver very well in this role.
3. This is just a fan request, but Pod should have been cast in this. This type of drama, his aesthetic... He would have been a PERFECT choice.
If this involves characters who are supposed to be in high school that's a no. There was another teenage based…
Absolutely. However, I'm just not comfortable with the idea of teenagers in a highly sexual series for the consumption of adults. Is 18 and 19 legal, yes. And if that's the reason some are comfortable with it, great. I do not judge. I am not trying to stop anyone from enjoying it. Personally, I am not comfortable with it.
This is just a "cute-sy" show. There's no depth here. There are no twists. No award-winning performances. The central plot is exactly as it is. You'll either like it, or you won't. I do not. But I understand why others do.
Personally, I want to see Joong in a role where he has the freedom, and the ability, to show how well he can act. As opposed to this fluffy love stuff. If he had the opportunity, I think he'd truly "WOW" us. For example, I would really enjoy seeing him is a role like Win from "Double Savage". And not in these teenager/college aged roles.
Boston is foul for trying to make a move on Top KNOWING Mew is his friend.
Nick... My baby Nick is going to get hurt. But also, he's going to surprise us too. The phone situation let us know he's not innocent, at all.
Sand and Ray... I need more.
All in all, I am in LOVE!
