that's why I said it was a good try to make an approach to this important topic. But it bugs me that they simplify…
ah, ok, I have to admit I haven't watched any other countries dramas yet, only Korean - due to me having decades old friendships there and knowing quite inimately the difference (any topic) between K-drama and real life in South Korea, so I just judge it from that point of view of course.
As a mental health professional myself, I would say the portrayal of the mental health issues and the diagnosis…
that's why I said it was a good try to make an approach to this important topic. But it bugs me that they simplify the solutions and act like these problems are solved in a short time, like in my mentioned examples.
People who are affected and see this and maybe finally give it a try with going to get help, might find themselves bitterly disappointed when they see that the looking for help doesn't easily solve their problem, let alone that immediately, or change their relatives' toxic behaviour towards them - maybe even the opposite, as the person breaking out of a toxic family cycles is very often the person that gets banned and shunned by the rest of the family and even ends up completely alone.
So I can't see the shown simplifying matters as helpful at all, especially in the mentioned case. If they want to address this so full front, then they have to show it is a long and hard way, with setbacks waiting on the long road, to get out of such situations and states of mind, and it can take EVERYthing from you, it can mean you lose all contacts you had before because they are the root for the toxicity in your life, be it your won family or a circle of toxic friends, etc. So, it's just not good to make anyone believe it's as easy as shown here.
Concerning the working with depression: in the countries I either come from or now live in, you could go on working in this specific region of health care with depression of course, but NOT, if you attempted suicide, that's the out-criteria. It wouldn't be considered safe.
I agree, MinJi23. Kdramas are my nightly get-away-from-the-world escape. I've put many in the Plan To Watch list…
yes, same here... and I'm still not sure if I will watch 'evilife' to the end, the atmosphere is just sooo uncomfortable while I still think there is good acting in it... I also rather turn to feelgood dramas these days especially
not surprising....after seeing 3 episodes of 'evilive' I can say Kim Young-kwang is really impressive in this role, and I have to give him he is a very versatile actor...but watching 'evilive' is just uncomfortable, he is so scary in that role and the atmosphere is so suffocating, and it's very visually violent, especially in the first episode, I think with what's happening in the world, many people just don't want to have these uncomfortable feelings and see such violence these days.
They'd rather turn to see something totally carefree, with very simply fun, where they just don't have to think at all - like 'strong girl Namsoon'.
huh just googled and the only similarity is that the cop went to a village? and no one seems to have superpowers…
what are you talking about? There is no similarities whatsoever, except for the fact that a city police officer has to work the countryside - but that is it? No superpowers in 'hot fuzz', completely different storyline.
This drama is a copy of Hot Fuzz from 2007 a british comedy movie... As soon as I saw whats going on DUDE!!! I…

maybe you give it a try and check your English knowledge? Well-known storyline, as in having seen similar storylines…
' E N G L I S H i never asked your advice on English grammar'
my reply:
and I never asked for a stranger who is obviously not able to understand an English review text to come here and write an offensive and provocative comment under my review. If you think you can come and try to bully people, be prepared they hit back. Next time just get your facts right, or politely ask if you don't understand a written text. Thanks, and bye.
maybe you give it a try and check your English knowledge? Well-known storyline, as in having seen similar storylines in many other rom-com K-dramas before. Again, your short text here is full of English spelling and grammar mistakes, maybe you need to sit down and study English to understand simple English sentences. Seems you had a hard time understanding my rather simple review text here ;)

Hm, can't really imagine him in a funny role, we'll see...
