I agree with everything else you have said but ¨Yes, she poisoned him, but she never intended to kill him, and…
It is indeed her fault that he got poisoned, but when I said “it’s not entirely her fault” I mean that he was poisoned with a deadly one due to the coroner’s carelessness. Her initial intent wasn’t to punish the ML, but to weaken him so he couldn’t use his martial arts against her while she tried to dig up any information. That’s not “punishment.” Also, deep down in her heart she doesn’t even want to fully believe the ML is the murderer—there’s still a tiny spark of trust and a soft spot for him. If she truly believed he was guilty, she would have gone for his neck or heart when they first met again, instead of aiming for his shoulder. She wouldn’t have needed to poison him just to “punish” him bcs killing him on the spot would have been easier tho. Right now, the ML is already in the “second stage” of poisoning—sooner than I expected—so I’m betting he’s cured before or by the final stage, maybe even before ep 28.
For anyone wondering whether to watch this or not because people are comparing it to Coroner's Diary, my advice is: JUST WATCH IT! The only similarity I can see between them is the mysterious and revenge vibes they give off (and yes, I’ve watched both). Even the romance is completely different. In CD, the “investigation plot” mostly serves as a way for the leads to fall in love and highlight their bond as they go through thick and thin together. Meanwhile in TWD, they were already childhood sweethearts. In the first few episodes, it’s clear that the “investigation plot” isn’t meant to emphasize their romance, and their love story isn’t the main thing you should be looking forward to. It’s almost a side plot—unlike CD, we don’t get detailed explanations about how or why they decided to get married and all we know is they grew up together. As for the FL, I don’t understand why people are upset with her. Imagine if someone was suspected of murdering your father in one of the cruelest ways known at the time—wouldn’t it make sense to stay on guard and be extremely cautious, even if the suspect seemed harmless? Yes, she poisoned him, but she never intended to kill him, and it’s not entirely her fault anyway. Also, even though the ML isn’t in top physical form due to the poison, his brain is still doing more than half the work to solve the cases. The drama has aired up to ep12 so far—it’s not even halfway through. I’m sure the poison will eventually be cured and the ML will be back to kicking and punching left and right like the badass he used to be.
I can’t explain it but the Bi Wen Jun I’m watching in this drama feels completely different from Bi Wen Jun I saw in Sweet Teeth. It’s like they’re two totally different actors. I like him more in this drama tho.
does this one have too much angst? im watching Our Generation right now and i can't take one more drama with that…
I haven’t watched Our Generation so I can’t really compare them but, I wouldn’t say there’s too much angst in this drama, but it’s definitely not little either. Still, the relationship and chemistry between the leads so far are worth watching. I do think something will challenge their relationship later in the drama tho. The pacing is also quite fast, so their relationship and the story keep me hooked . It’s worth giving it a try if you don’t mind the messy subtitles on Mango 👍🏻
It's been a while since I watched a couple that made me giggling and kicking my feet in the air. Their chemistry is so good, I can't believe they're acting.
One of the main reasons why I almost never get SLS is because they’re always LATE and HESITATE A LOT. Late to confess, late to pursue the FL, late to make a move. They hesitate about whether the FL will accept their love, or whether they’re even good enough, etc. Yes, they’re nice and all, but sometimes that lack of courage and boldness in love is exactly why they never win the FL. Of course, not all SLs are like this—some are just straight-up unlucky in love.
Chen Yi in the novel is a very wild and rough boy, at least in the early chapters I’ve read. I’m really curious and excited to see how SWL is going to portray that character, because to me, he seems gentle and has a soft personality. Can’t wait to watch this drama! 🩷
None of the characters were likable for me. That said, this drama is okay if you’re just looking for something quick and mindless to watch. But if you’re after something more visually aesthetic, with well-developed characters and minimal cringe from the female lead or side characters, then this one’s probably not for you.
I understand why some people are criticizing her acting in Seven Relics of Ill Omen. Personally,I don’t think it’s bad but certain parts are definitely lacking. Sometimes she looks soulless/her expressions are confusing, but maybe that’s just how the character Mu Dai is written and that’s her way of interpreting it. One thing for sure, she’s cute and such a pretty crier.
While there's nothing particularly bad about this drama overall, I found the first and last few episodes quite dull, which led me to fast-forward through most of them. The series does have its share of funny moments, and the humor is definitely a highlight. However, the lack of chemistry between Zhang Xin Cheng and Lang Jie made it hard for me to get invested in their relationship. It had potential, but ultimately fell flat in key emotional moments.
Lee Joon Gi’s acting in this drama is SO good! I know I’m kinda late watching it in 2025, but out of all the dramas I’ve seen this year, this one tops them all.
I can’t believe some people said Xu Ruohan is ugly. This is the second drama of hers that I’ve watched, and I always think she’s prettyyyyy. If there’s one thing I don’t really like about the drama, it’s the lighting/filter bcs it’s too bright.
This is my first sageuk drama since I started watching kdramas 10 years ago, and I love it so muchhhh! I never watched this kind of period drama before because I thought I wouldn’t like the setting or style, but I was totally wrong. Shoutout to Choo Young Woo for making me decide to give this a try!

Like I WANT HIM!!!!!!!

I’ve been marathon-watching all his dramas
