Also can someone explain what happened to the plot: That this is actually a game or some kind of farming simulator? That was only shown in the first two episodes. Since then it just vanished. The FL also doesnāt act, like she is in a game. She doesnāt even react like, sheās from the āfutureā. Yes, she has a big mouth, but very often she just reacts like she actually grew up there.
Also they donāt t learn from their mistakes. She knows her family is toxic, but instead to try to keep them in the dark, she shows and babbles all out. Like now with the restaurant. She tell the whole table of workers and family, where she did grow up the plants. Or doesnāt hide the money properly.
But I like that they at least show a bit of the problems back at that time. Like how low the status of women were. How they got sold for various reasons. China has really a dark past about that.
If you expect a drama about the struggles of schizophrenia, then youāll get probably disappointed. I guess China still wasnāt ready for such heavy topics. Instead you get a sweet young man, with the burden, that he maybe gets schizophrenia when he turns 24. And thatās that until the final episode. I wonāt tell moreā¦.
Should you still watch it? Absolutely!!
The whole schizophrenia topic runs very low in the background the whole time. The main plot Li Jia making 2 good friends. And the trio encounters some strange and mysterious crimes, they solve. You get a bit romance and very cute bromance. Itās a good show, but it couldāve been so much more.
Wasted potential. Especially on Joseph Zeng. I did read here and there, that he often gets critic of not being a good actor and so on. But that kid can deliver! He just needs to get the chance! And sadly he was only allowed to show a little at last episodes š
But now my hopes lies on the maybe 2nd season, which is listed since shortly š¬
