Primarily because Fan Yue isn't born with some demonic aura or bone to be as cruel and gruesome as the previous…
Valid points š but for me that wasn't working. I always had the feeling of something missing. I mean I totally enjoyed to watch Ruipeng, nonetheless.
Oh Boy, I know I will get hateā¦.but it wasnāt my cup of tea. Normally I like this kind of dramas, but here I got a big problem: the main cast š«£ I like both actors, but it didnāt work out here for me. Bailu is too mature and Ruipeng too boyish. With him, I also never had the feeling of him being the big demon king. He looks like a puppy! But the story was nice and also the ending.
Only a 7 for me. The drama had potential but the writing and story telling wasnāt good.
After episode 3 or so, I started to skip through the episodes. Only the last 4 or 5 episodes were starting to get good. If you want to make a project about heavy and complex topics of trauma or PTSD, then donāt try to squeeze also a weird love story in it. Some of it was so bad written and executed. My dear C-Drama writers, I know you have it not easy. But the Show doesnāt get better, just because you squeeze tons of stuff into it. On one hand you want it authentic, but then you take a handful from everything and after 2 cuts, you throw it in the bin.
Example (kinda spoiler): FL and ML survive a bomb detonation. FL, according to doc: has bad cornea damage. But hey, after some ātreatmentā all is fineā¦.only later she gets trouble with it. From personal experience, I can tell you that even a slight damage on your cornea isnāt easily fixed and this stuff hurts like hell. And it never really heals. The scars on it, troubles you again and again. And again. But instead to take this common knowledge, she heals like nothing, but later suddenly has trouble to seeā¦.and needs some kind of operationā¦.which wonāt get explained.
But that wasnāt even bad. ML was even better. Itās kind of a quote: He was for weeks in a coma. The skull was damaged, the ribs were broken, the liver punctured, the calf was broken, and many organs damaged. Then you see himā¦..and he is all healed up. Sure thingā¦.because he was for weeks in a coma, right?! But then Iām wondering, why there are still open wounds on his back ššš Also from all the injuries, he āonlyā has trouble with tinnitus and insomnia.
Guys, I know itās just a drama. But thereās only so much you can blend out. Same goes in the endā¦and his change of persona. Thereās no explanation to it, that this happend almost certainly because they had to reanimate him. But if you are a hurt lover or even hurt/comfort lover. You will enjoy it. Also the cast was great and the acting was awesome. Itās not their fault, that the production wasnāt.
I am really really trying to give this drama a chance but the more I watch the more itās looking like I am going…
You're not alone. I was yesterday also at ep3 and wrote here a rant about the FL. The actress is cute, but they wrote her so unrealistic and bad. By now I'm skipping thorough it. Also to add again another girl who has a love interest is so annoying. Such plots don't make a story better....mostly it just unnecessary and boring.
I'm at EP 3 and oh boy is it bad. Who wrote that script? The following is no criticism against the actress.
But the FL is so bad written, and yes I'm bold to make that statement already after 3 episodes. The description we get from her, what she supposedly did off screen, doesn't fit at all the person we see on screen.
The brave war reporter....did I miss something?! All we get is a skittish, unsure doe eyed girly, that zoomes out every few minutes.Falls in love and acts creepy around him.She is totally docile in a job where you can't afford to be like that. It isn't even cute....it is just cringe. But only because it doesn't fit at all.You can't write a character that shall be a war reporter and give it a persona from a girl that is melancholic, depressed and has a low self esteem.
Reunion could have had it allā¦..but they wasted it on this super annoying warehouse plot. The Cast was top notch,…
You're so right. I also watched from Reunion the good parts also a few times āŗļø This version of the Iron Triangle was so damn perfect....and oh yes "soft Xiao ge" š„°š„°š„° But I did fall so much for Yilong while I watched it. His Puppy eyes killed me. Thats why I love also Shunxi's Version, his adorable doe eyes.... š„ŗš he nailed this trusting, native, good boy narrative.
i would like to assume that the scriptwriter (also the novel writer, we must be honest) simply has no idea what…
I haven't watched the drama yet, but I want to soon. That's why I read through the comments here. I'd like to say something about yours in general, which I've noticed a lot with C-dramas in particular. They often open up difficult topics or the plot revolves around them, but that's often just the hook to get people to tune in. And then the topic is only dealt with half-heartedly or superficially because it seems that certain topics cannot be shown on Chinese television or like you said its a taboo. Which is often really a bummer.
Im in the middle of watching this. I've read the novel, after I watched reunion. I've watched the movie the "conjuring…
Reunion could have had it allā¦..but they wasted it on this super annoying warehouse plot. The Cast was top notch, and they harmonized like oil. So sad they decided to split them all the time upā¦.. I love Utlimate note, but Reunion is always in the back Iof my mind. Zhu Yilong as Wu Xie was simply chef kiss.
Just started watching this drama. Why are all the young guys so protective of Wu Xie? I never watched any of the…
Oh god, thatās so hard to explain. And normally I donāt write thatā¦..but in this case I have to say: You need to watch the other parts and you will get it. But I try to explain a little bit: Wu Xie is a good boyā¦but he is also a bit naive and clumsy. The friendship you see in the show builds up over the seasons. Season 1 they are still strangers, but through the adventures and near dead experiences they went through over the years, they friendship and bond gets stronger and stronger. Also about the āYoung guysā šthe one who rescues Wu Xie Ės bottom again and again Xiao Geā¦.he only looks so young. Dude is in realty a grandpa. The strong bond to Wu Xie happens, because Wu Xie treats him well and as a very good friend.
Should you ever watch the later parts like Sound of Providence: You will see an older Wu Xie, he is a bit different, but in those 2 seasons you can very good see, how close those 3 will become ( sadly the writers preferred to tell mostly a story that is about other thingsā¦.but when the 3 show up, it is soooo good).
can someone tell me watch order for this? is it standalone? i'm mainly here for the bromance so does it continue…
if you donāt know any others parts of the franchise, then it could be a bit hard to understand. Because this is not really a standalone, but the plot itself is nothing that builds that much up on the former parts.
If you dig bromance, then this a deffo a show for you. They donāt hold back at all. šš
If you want the chronically order you can find it here.
Ultimate Note is so to say: the 4th part of the series. Part 1 - 3 are also very good and offer loads of bromance, but Ultimate Note is without a doubt the Bromance special š
Also (at least for me) the changing cast for every season takes a bit to getting used to. But on the other side, the cast is always super cuties.
I thought the first season was really good. But this one less so. Fewer episodes would have done the trick. Simply because some of the cases weren't really exciting. The dialog often felt artificially drawn out. I also found the interaction between the two main characters a bit lacking. The plot at the end started out exciting, but then it just ended in boring talk again. A bit more action would certainly have made things more exciting.
To be honest, I skipped quite a bit over time. But what really annoyed me was that S1 ended with an exciting cliffhanger, but then this theme didn't really play a role in S2. And now S2 has ended like that again, but unfortunately I no longer have the intention to watch a 3rd season because I'm afraid it could go the same way again, that we'll get 90% plot from some cases that were sometimes just boring.
But there were also some good ones. Like the one with the little blind boy. God, I was crying so much.
Had this since ages on my watch list. Because I tend to watch C-Dramas, it took me a bit. But Iām so glad I watched it. What an awesome show! Loved everything in it.
No. Both ML don't have any romance with woman going on. There is talk about relationship, but no romantic plot. The strong friendship and bond is really between the 2 ML.
10/10 because it deserves it. Finally again a well made bromance. Yes, the subs suck big time, but I pulled through and I get the plot and all. I doubt it will ever get a good sub. Also sad it has only 16 episodes. The relationship between the ML was nice too watch. The plot was thrilling, because it was somehow always connected to the mysterious backstory of Shen Song. It was funny, witty, and kind of bloody. Totally liked it. I think the low is rating, is really only because of the bad subtitlesā¦.and that is really a shame.
who does "you you" end up with? I really want her to end up with Gu an sheng but I doubt it šššš
With Zhao Lei, her co-worker from the comic store. Heās at least a real green flag. Gu An Seng is an idiot. She liked him so much, but he preferred to stalk behind is stepsister š
A few days ago, I commented that I don't think I'll continue this drama. But I did and I'm happy with it. Up until EP 18 it was really not my show....but then it took a turn and I couldn't stop watching. Really liked it then. Very good drama š

This show was refreshing different. Good comedy moments, but also still loads of drama.
Itās the typical romcom. ML wasnāt the best actor tbh.
Also storyline was often dragging and repeating.
At first, when he lived with her, it was cute and funny. But after that it was not so much.
Just lying, him being often like a red flag creep stalker. Also always the same with misunderstandings š
But the end is good and had a good surprise.
Also I really liked to see 2 āThe Untamedā actors together⦠and even as brothers 𤩠talking about He Peng/Ling Fang/Wen Chao (he just portrays baddies so good ā¤ļøāš„) and cutie pie Qi Pei Xin/Ling Sheng/Jin Ling. That was really cool.
But the show wasnāt bad. If you like romcoms with a cute cast and over the top drama and this is your cup of tea.
