I did not completely get the plots involving the scroll..but it was more understandable than the exam cheating…
I watched ep 1-6 in english subs and ep 7 in a different language. I was confused about the political play there because I think the english subs were not in full detail haha
Avenue X also said she believed there's a high possibility the ending will change to happy ending so I'm going to give this drama a go. She's usually very accurate in her assumptions. Plus listening snow tower ended happy so maybe this will be the same. Fingers crossed
Tbh, I don't think it's complete hate. In episode, was it 2? or 3? We see him talking to the portrait of the former…
Agree. I think the emperor is afraid of the crown prince's power from his mother's side as well. Perhaps his afraid the uncle may use the crown prince to over throw him so he used the oldest prince to balance the power in the court. The emperor probably also think that if the crown prince takes the blame, the punishment will not lead to death. However, if the oldest prince is found guilty of trying to set the crown prince up and basically overthrow him, it's pretty much a death/exile penalty. I swear his so biased.
The emperor and the crown prince don't trust each other as well. The crown prince have all the right not to trust his father though. His father wasn't able to protect him as he promised and it could've went terribly wrong for him if he listened to the emperor
I feel totally opposite about Yu Ran. To me her acting is below mediocre. Also it doesn't help that her character…
Admit princess of li and ji yie is the perfect match. Like she said, 'what u can't give him I can give him, what u can give him, I can also give him'. That princess if also fast moving. If yuran didn't come to the capital and ji yie stayed with princess of Li, I can see him falling for her because by then, she would've probably done so much for him (& be so blatant about liking him) that he won't be able to refuse her (like asule and the princess). He only met princess of Li for 1 wk and she already solved 2 of his worry lol.
I think they wrote yuran too childish and too seemingly innocent at the beginning. When her arc came at the end, the actress was not able to pull it off well as well. She's childish but it doesn't mean she doesn't care about anyone but herself and ji yie. I think she snuck out because her aunt was setting her up so that she'll willingly go to the capital with her, saying how its dangerous at the capital and stuff for asule. It's hard, because I think yuran have a very important spot in ji yie's heart. Before he met her, he has never been touched by anyone else (he didn't want to hi five her because he felt that he must be dirty so no one wanted to touch or play with him). She was the sun in his dark childhood. I think if asule was not there, the only reason he would've not wanted to be with yuran will be because he feel his not worthy (she's a princess and his just a concubine's son & he has a complex about it).
For 2020, I hope he picks up another drama project in the midst of any film project he has. He takes a whole year off to film 2 movies and I'll be taking barely 4 hours to watch it :((

Yea, I think the chemistry between them was coming more from asule than yuran haha. Asule saved the chemistry for me The moment she saw her aunt was about to hurt asule, she ended up killing her aunt so I'll give her that I guess? hmm not sure. In the earlier episodes, when asule was about to fight that guy (who tried to pull the sword) to save ji yie, yuran stopped him because she knows he doesn't stand a chance against that guy. I don't think she portray the minute details well so it didn't come through that well but I think the director was trying portray it that way. In earlier episodes when asule is lonely in his room (when he just took his revenge for suma, when his reading books in his room), it's always yuran who comes to visit him. When she realised he went to the capital, she tried to sneak pass her aunt to follow him. Asule didn't tell her he misses home. When she found out, she tried to make him happy. I think the director was pretty much pushing the 3 close friends thing pretty clear. The idea of yuran not helping asule (or is ignorant of it) stems from the fact that asule is selfless and is not the type to make others worry about him and yuran is portrayed too much like a spoiled kid. Asule didn't even let his two close friends know that he might die soon or that the evil crow guy, the emperor, basically everyone was after him (I mean, if I was him, I don't know how to say this either). So when the yuran/ji yie thing was going on, it seemed like yuran didn't care for him
They left it like the book, no ending even though for the author, it is a completed book. Lol
While really sad, that sounds like a really good plotline?! D: . The script for this series was too generic compared to the books! I'm a bit confused though. So is this what happens at the end of book 6? Or is this part written as a different series? I heard people are saying they filmed all 6 books and the book ended with an open ended battle or something like that

So in the ending of the book, the same thing happened? I heard book readers mention that there's 2 major battles between ji yie and asule. Did that happen before ji yie came with reinforcement to help asule (i.e. the ending of the drama)?
