You mean the book? Eagle Flag was published in 2005 while T&E was published in 2006. Castle in the Sky was an…
ah thanks! does the story in eagle flag come before tribes and empire? As in was eagle flag the prequel to tribes and empire, then the story of tribes and empire happen?
i had expected a surge in the male lead once he took ownership of the coveted sword, but no. still insipid. the…
I was thinking the same in terms of the sword! When will they let the main lead show us what he can do. I'm conflicted with the female lead. The main leads in the actual novels were only 12 years old at the time so I guess when it translates into a drama setting, the female lead seems too cutesy and 2D, considering she's meant to be around 19, and considering the other 2 older females in the show are such dimensional characters. It's a fine line and I don't know how I feel about it yet. I don't know how they could've changed it in a way that wouldn't anger the fans of the novel while still satisfying drama watchers. I personally would've liked it if the author changed up her character a bit for the drama version
just curious, does anyone know which story came first in terms of the timeline in the Novoland series? Tribe and empire, novoland eagle flag and castle in the sky?
Episode 6 is where Liu Haoran shines IMO, particularly in the scene after they kill the Redteeth warrior. I want…
agree! Ji Yie's brooding character is so cute and I'm invested in his story. I see potential with Haoran's character so can't wait to see where he goes with it. I really love the three lead's friendship
Oh boy, I had such a high expectation for this drama and they delivered in spades! A-list castings, extensive…
I was thinking the same about Yu Ran, It was fine at first but they need to change that up soon. I felt like the production team was going for her being the escape haven from the war and turmoil that is happening around the other main leads. I can see her in the future dying young and her ending up being a symbolism of the two main lead's childhood and purity. I hope this is not how it's going to go though. Just thinking of the worst scenario. I don't like how while the two male leads are growing up, Yu Ran remains like a brat. The lack of depth in her character becomes more obvious in the later episodes. The actress pulled off the role well though because I still love her even though she's a brat. I hope they develop her character more
I really liked the trailer and I wanted to ask if this drama is so good before I may waste my time watching it...
I think it's worth giving it a shot. There's so many a-list actors/actresses involved and so much budget (i heard its the biggest budget for a chinese drama ever but i'm not sure) going into this that it'll be worth giving it a go. There's a lot of set changes in this drama, and each one is just as beautiful as the last. You can tell they put a lot of effort in trying to recreate the novoland universe. The visual aesthetics are so pretty in a realistic way. All the older supporting cast members held really solid performances. The main leads for me right now are cute to watch, very likeable. The story's pacing is pretty good so far. There's only 56 episodes and it's based on a pretty long set of books so I think the story won't be draggy but we'll see. But overall u should def check it out and see if u like it
I remember watching this one and feeling so frustrated towards the last couple of episodes. I literally didn't see it coming and the main leads did such a good job at messing me up
You mean she remains weak and reliant to others through out the series?????
Not weak but she remains to be the troublemaker! the male lead is always trying to undo all her mistakes! That and her lack of trust in the male lead after all they've been through. At one stage, I kinda wanted the male lead to die so she can stop taking him for granted. FYI, I've only watched spoilers so far and that's what I got from it
I kept watching the next episode, just waiting for the female character to do something grand or to see character…
The only moment where she actually did something cool was when she saved the male lead from her 2nd senior brother. she was pretty cool there. That been said I'm only up to ep 38-40 and have only been watching spoilers lol
from all the spoiled screenshots and behind the scene filming I've seen, it seems like there's hope for a happy…
Yes, thank god. I think any ending at this stage will be happier than the book ending. From the interview the ML said that nan chu sacrificed a lot for Yi Qing. I have still yet to see nan chu sacrificing something crazy for nan chu so maybe in the last episode he sacrificed his life so that yi qing can live? As of right now, he is seriously winning that elder brother of the year award. My bets are on yi qing losing his fighting powers and become a normal person to live with jing rong. that's why she said she'll protect him :D

Ah yes I know haha. I was having a feeling that they may change things up since the director made a few changes already to make it less sad than the actual book :D. So i was thinking they may make it the FL die, leaving the ML by himself. Srry for not been clear. But yes, the book ending is a terrible ending. I would throw the drama out the window if they kept with that ending XD
