Plots involving body and gender swap are usually problematic on the get go and stresses me out every time! Felt…
Yashiro does switch back by ep 8! And I won't spoil anything but I will say that it's never forgotten that Yashiro identifies as a boy and it does play a part in the plot, so don't worry they're not trying to make an "acceptable couple" here (if anything Yashiro is but they get into that too). I find this drama did a good job talking about gender and sexuality, as well as the reasoning behind the swap.
it is refreshing to see a strong fl at the very beginning, in most martial arts or period dramas, fl is almost…
I find it refreshing too! Like with Lusi's role in The Romance of Tiger and Rose I was so frustrated that they didn't let her retain her martial arts and she needed saving a lot (to stir up more romantic moments). The drama was good but would've been even better if they let her be strong! So i'm quite happy watching her be a badass cultivator here! :D
Usually murder mysteries are my jam, quirky and serious alike, but I didn't find myself super excited by this or very gripped by the characters. Not to put this down entirely though, it's not a bad way to pass the time for a one time watch and there are some fun moments! I'd watch a sequel if they ever planned one - I honestly think it'd do some of the characters some good.
it's bl Yashiro always identifies as a boy and has feelings for Kenta, another boy. the drama explores that + other topics of gender and sexuality (you could also say more accurately this is a queer coming of age drama)
I enjoyed all your comments about my comment. At least I got your attention. I guess my definition of what a good…
Not all bls are going to be fluffy uwu stop putting queer people in a box for your own enjoyment. Hets can be in any genre, they can be in fluffy rom-coms or violent thrillers and nobody bats an eye, but queer people are only allowed to exist in fluff? Ridiculous. Watch fluff if that's what you prefer, but this violent mafia drama IS a bl whether you like it or not.
This drama was so sweet, and the romance was so smooth, if you get my meaning. They both were on the same page and it just flowed so naturally, it was so nice to watch! This drama just feels so sincere, I found it so refreshing! This drama also feels sooo ripe for a sequel i hope we get it!
The most phycological problem in this show is ppl have more empathy for the murderer rather than the victims .
We are supposed to feel bad for the people who enjoyed physically and emotionally abusing someone for years getting their comeuppance? People who abused their position in society to torment someone to such brutal extremes he had no avenue of escape and caused him to have mental health issues to this day? Not to mention the victims so far aren't even sorry 20 years later for what they did. Of course we have more empathy for Kyung Min, who we watch suffer horribly every episode while all the adults know and look on doing nothing (or contribute like the teacher), we understand his motivations.
