Us criticizing the pacing and writing doesn't mean we don't understand the story/characters? It's that many of…
No i'm not? And they do need to talk, they've been dancing around each other for so long now they both need to talk about what they feel and what their relationship is. I want emotions, I want honesty and connection, and currently they haven't been able to have a moment of open conversation that would finally take what's happening between them to official relationship status. There's plenty to talk about, and the writers keep finding reasons to keep them from talking despite both characters wanting to, and now that we're on the finale it's getting ridiculous. The writing for this series isn't stellar, even thought the actors are good and the main couple is cute, and the pacing problems have become even more apparent the closer to the end we've gotten. Even if you don't think so, me and other people do think this way.

Shi Lei isn't coming to terms with his sexuality, he realized this fact about himself episodes ago, talked to his mom about it, and even recently talked to his coworker about liking men . He doesn't have an issue with his sexuality, and he wants to be with JYZ he's dead certain about that, so that isn't what's holding him back here. What's currently holding him back is uncertainty. He lacks courage when it comes to confessing his feelings to people he likes (and the ex appeared right when he mustered that courage and it deflated upon seeing him), but also he likes JYZ enough that if he thinks the ex would make him happier he will step back and right now he does think that JYZ still loves the ex and they might be better together. He's in an uncertain place and it doesn't help that JYZ hasn't helped define what their relationship is to him, which is connected to his own issues of course. Both feel uncertain despite knowing they both are into each other, and especially now with the ex in the picture making everyone uneasy a conversation is needed to clear everything up once and for all.

Ugh uke and seme... this isn't a yaoi and even japanese bls aren't all "yaoi" and follow the top/bottom stereotypes and everything else that can come from that genre. These are 2 men falling in love, there is no need to throw stereotypes in where we look for who's dom/sub (or husband/wife if we're talking some thai bls) based on..... idk height and personality. It's gross and not for me. And I don't need you to explain Chinese or Taiwanese drama beats to me either, I've watched enough to know these things. There is a nice domestic subtly in the care that the main couple shows for one another, and I like that a lot, but they have literally been on the cusp of dating for a while now and the only thing truly stopping them from getting there is just talking to each other about it. It's frustrating to watch.

You didn't say "thirsty for sweetness" though you said "thirsty" which implies something ENITRELY different. If you just say thirsty you're implying we're just in this for the making out etc (and given this is a bl this could also imply we're just watching this to fetishize gay people) and not actually watching for the story or characters. Yes we want more sweetness but not unreasonably so! To me sweetness is them sleeping in bed together and eating together etc, but even that has a limit because now I want them to talk about what their relationship is and get together properly and do more couple things. This is literally a romance drama. I've watched other Taiwanese bls and they didn't have the problems that this one has.

The pacing is all over the place in my opinion, and currently it's dragging. At this moment I believe that the ex drama, which has stretched 3 episodes now (including the finale), could've been finished in 2 - there are a lot of scenes that felt stretched out or like filler. They should have left the conclusion more room to breathe in the sparse 23-ish minutes it has to tie up everything and give us time with them as a couple before the credits roll, because nobody likes a get-together-kiss at the very last minute - we've been working up to them getting together this whole time and so we want to have a moment to actually enjoy it. I'm hoping the finale manages somehow to give everything enough time, but that doesn't change the pacing issues we've been feeling while watching this drama.

Stop being thirsty people. Be a bit more comprehensive about the story and maybe you'll learn something cultural…
Us criticizing the pacing and writing doesn't mean we don't understand the story/characters? It's that many of us feel that these past few episodes in particular didn't have the best pacing, and we're frustrated because we want the mains to talk it out like they've been wanting to this whole time. If you don't see a problem that's fine, we're all different, but there's no need to reduce our criticisms down to "they're just thirsty"

Soohyun and Joon (and his family let's go Joon Wan!) hard carried this drama imo. Everyone else was just coasting around shallowly developed. The romance lines between everyone were totally shallow tbh they weren't needed at all..... friendship is fine!! And man if you're going to do it at least give them some depth. I was hoping the further we went the more we'd dig into all these characters and strengthen their relationships etc but for the most part aside from Soohyun and Joon this straight up didn't happen. Also by the end it feels like some of the issues were wrapped up so nice and neat ttp where it just felt a bit juvenile.... I would've loved a bit more depth. A bit more courage from the writers to actually tackle these things properly. Anyways for Soohyun and Joon and their development it's an enjoyable drama, and Joon's family situation was well done (even tho by the last ep it's like it almost entirely evaporated), but the drama otherwise gets bogged down by other things that just didn't interest or impact me honestly.

yeah honestly we've gotten literally nowhere with the main couple in weeks and they expect to wrap up everything in a single 20-something min ep?? the pacing is so mismanaged.... at least we have this airing right on its heels!

exactly ugh I hate hating female characters but she is so unlikable and bitchy
yeah i'm the same way! i hate that they've made me hate her, i really tried not to, but i can't put up with this type of behaviour from her... she's being a bitch and not even just towards "potential threats" to her place like Taekyung, but also towards Daon himself??? I already didn't like how she acted towards others but to even treat to boy she likes like that to control him and keep him by her side is gross. she should be happy he's happy but instead she hates it whenever he's happy if it's not with her and works to destroy it.

i'm so angry at Sohee telling Daon "everyone notices" and "everyone thinks it's strange" regarding how he and Taekyung act, knowing it'd bother him. and who is "everyone"?? it's just her!! and then she's all "as if Daon would fall for someone like Taekyung anyways lol" she's so mean and she's ignoring how he is obviously unhappy with what she's saying ugh

yeah viki is a week behind even with the pass :( there are other places to find the latest eps like on dailymotion but that wouldn't be the official way, the views don't count (what i'm doing is keeping up on dailymotion and then rewatching as they come out on viki to show support)

they were always planning on only releasing 1-5 on their youtube channel, unfortunately, so now for the rest of the eps you have to switch to one of the platforms that has it licensed

People say that Da On needs Tae more but Tae is not an object and isn't obligated to be together with somebody…
agree. i think Daon could learn from Taekyung ofc, but that isn't a reason for them to be together!

off to a cute start! it's adapted the anime well from what i can tell with 1 episode out kfdhg. it all felt super familiar down to the look and feel, and i liked that there didn't seem to be a bunch of over-exaggerated anime reactions that really only work in anime. it all seemed to work! looking forward to the rest of the drama!
