The pleasure is mine. Let's make our second round of chatting on "the midnight romance in hagwon" page. And chatting as we watch two episodes per week will most definitely be fun.

Very detailed, it's going to be very helpful to those that plan to watch this drama. And it's as you said mine was short, but I tried to summarize the beginning plus the ending, making it helpful to those who plan to watch. And thanks for liking my review 🙏🙏🙏

The end got me thinking, maybe the screenwriter doesn't like the relationship of two people whose age differs greatly blossoming romantically.

10 years is not huge, especially as it's 30s and 40s
She looks as she did 15 years ago. I watched some of her dramas, and honestly, her youth is still very blooming. And anyone would think she's still in her early 30s. I'm looking forward to an awesome chemistry between her and the ML.

Mee too, I hope to see the best noona romance drama of 2024, and one of the best drama of all time from this show.
Whether it's 10, or 20 years age difference, I'm in as long as the older one is the FL. And jung ryeo won is a beautiful actress who doesn't look her age, and I'm sure she's going to kill the show!!!

Beats me!! Being friends might also be a taboo for this screenwriter. If he truly wanted decent ratings, then making them friends would have spiked the ratings, but what did he do? He did so many ridiculous things, first it was making them enemies, and now it's the ending. I wonder what he was thinking while he was writing wonderful world.

The screenwriter really let me down with his writings. But then again, I wasn't as hopeful as I was for a more detailed ending, and while I was half through with episode 13, I realized the message this screenwriter is passing across; "This is not a romance drama, nor a friendships drama. The first leads only allied to bring the villain down. No more, no less.

The wonderful acting and premiere is what made me withheld the 8.5. Because I was truly disappointed with the ending.

Your review was awesome, it's a detailed review. And I'm honored you loved my review!!

You'll definitely love good casting, and though the main genre isn't romance, but it still has a slight romance.
I'm really looking forward to "the midnight romance in hagwon". I trust it's going to be interesting. Yes, I was surprised when I saw your comments on the page!!
I think we should make that page our new section for discussing, or what do you think?

Yes, I think we should get used to it by now. No matter how young the FL may look, as long as she's paired with a much younger actor, and the main genre is "romance". Critics full of criques should be expected. But it's a good thing this drama has more watchers supporting the romance than those criticizing it.

And honestly, this drama is exactly what I need after the disappointing ending of wonderful world. I really need a noona romance drama at the moment!! This drama is giving off the vibes of melancholia. And the reason for my conclusion is because of the teacher/student relationship tag. I can't wait for May to come!!!!

It was indeed very unfortunate and disappointing. Even if this screenwriter threw away romance in this drama, did he also had to throw being friends away? The ending is not what I'd describe as "flawless". But then again, I couldn't low this drama's ratings than 8.5, because of its wonderful premiere. And more importantly because of the wonderful acting exhibited by nam joo and eun woo.

Your review was awesome, and thus it caught the eyes of many. I also wrote my review after completing the last episode and I'm glad you loved it. I wanted to give it something like 9 or better yet, retain the 9.5. But I couldn't do it, and why? Because the story started wonderfully but the ending was far from being wonderful. And like I said I expected a more detailed and happy ending. After all those things the first leads had to endure, they just parted ways after achieving their goals? That's ridiculous. And the screenwriter didn't clear the issue about soo hyun's divorce, or did he think it was irrelevant? And do you know what I hate the most about this screenwriter? It's because he threw out the relationship seon yul and soo hyun developed painstakingly, and that's not all, he also didn't bother about letting us know what became of soo hyun's marriage.

What is the message this screenwriter is trying to pass across? Its as if they allied because of gain and not because they care about each other. They had a great chemistry, so why? Why? Why did they part ways in the end? And honestly if not because of the wonderful acting exhibited by eun woo and nam joo, I'd have low this drama's ratings to 8. But I gave it 8.5 because of the great acting exhibited by the actors, precisely eun woo and nam joo.

Yes, we see the two regaining their lost honor. But really, the ending isn't what I hoped for.

But the good thing is that a noona romance kdrama "the midnight romance in hagwon" is scheduled to air soon. The thought alone makes me happy, and the main genre is romance, Wow, its exactly the drama I hoped for!!! And that's not all, it also has a tag of teacher/student relationship, that's exactly the type of genre and tag I love. I'm expecting a plot somewhat similar to Melancholia from this drama.

It is! It's quite interesting. It showcase the different dynamics between family (an overbearing mother who wants…
It's nothing new when you see a meddlesome mother in cdramas, I've seen many. So dropping the ratings because of the mother is a bit unreasonable. As long as the FL is not a puppet, I'm up for this!!

The screenwriter can be really disappointing.
Why can't he just make their relationship bloom romantically? I'm contemplating whether to keep the 9.5 or low it, but it all depends on the ending as I'm halfway through with episode 13.

Thanks pal for the detailed summary 🙏🙏🙏🙏

It'd appear kim joon is gaining the upper hand from the summary I just read, or am I wrong? And I also think seon yul is ashamed to face soo hyun due to his abominable father's deeds. But really, he shouldn't be ashamed, both him and soo hyun are just victims of circumstances, and I don't think he ought to be blaming himself. After all, he and his father are two different people.

There's nothing more I'd like to see than witnessing the downfall of kim joon, and the divorce of soo hyun. I just hope our first leads will conquer the villain unscathed!!

By the way, did soo hyun divorce soo ho at the end? She didn't forgive him, did she? And soo hyun didn't end up adopting seon yul as her son at the end, right? Because that's the last thing I'd want to see. Being friends is fine with me, but definitely not being in a parent/child relationship!!

I saw your review and it was awesome pal.
I'll be writing mine soon afteywhen I'm through with the last episode.

Wow, I'll be looking forward to that particular episode once I start watching!! It'd seem the FL's mother is stealing the show with all meddlings, or am I wrong?

So, you mean it's the FL's mother that's meddlesome? Wow, that's quite unique!! I feel like watching already, but I'm going to endure for a few more days. At least till episode 18 airs, so as to make the wait bearable. But I hope I can wait that long, cause I always end up watching XK dramas before episode 15 airs. And why? Because he always delivers no matter the role he portrays.

Really? Then this drama is definitely going to be one of a kind!! I've seen many cdramas where the mothers are too meddlesome. But judging from your description and comparison, she must be an extremely meddlesome one!!

I was contemplating on whether to watch or not to, but you've changed my mind. I'll start watching soon. And I'm guessing it's the same old story about the mother. I've noticed cdramas mothers mostly have this unique way of displaying their affection for their children. They must think their children are vulnerable, and weak, thus the meddlesome act.
But since you mentioned it, this drama's mother's meddling and way of display of affection must be far greater than most cdramas, right?
