Those were my reasons for giving secret affair a 9 even though it's having a rating of 7.7 on MDL. 7.7 is too low of a rating to give it. I felt the reality in the story, especially the awesome and realistic acting of kim hee ae and yoo ah in.
Yes, good casting would have been better if romance was the main plot, but I guess the writer wanted to focus more on her life as an agent more than her romance life. But I have little complaints about this drama, at least the first two leads weren't separated at the end.
Since you gave oh my lady such a high rating, the content must be quite something. And you are right, I think she stopped appearing in dramas after marrying, but it shouldn't be. An actress shouldn't allow anything to stop her career, even if that's marriage.
Try 'Go Ahead'... The mother there is far worse than the mother here... But the drama is showing the real behaviour…
Really? " I thought the meddling of the FL's mother in best choice ever is the worst I've seen. But now you are telling me Go ahead mother's meddling is far worse? Yes, Asian moms are quite meddlesome. Maybe they are forgetting the fact that their children are no longer kids. And grown up children only needs advice, and not the unnecessary middlings of their moms.
Just started watching this drama, and the start was awesome. Loving every moment of it. I'm only halfway through with episode 2, but I already noticed the meddlesome FL's mother. I've watched many urban cdramas but it's the first time I'm seeing such a meddlesome mother.
10 years is not huge, especially as it's 30s and 40s
I guess you are right. They had many chances for their relationship to bloom romantically but it was just not headed in that direction. The story was wonderful but the end is somehow. I'm hoping to see more noona romance drama scheduled to air soon!!
That's the problem of MDL sometimes. There are quite a number of shows that deserved higher ratings but ended up with low ratings or probably average. I've also watch some shows that are overrated in which the contents doesn't correlate with the high rating. There's a drama that's highly rated, and not just highly rated, it's one of the highest rated dramas on MDL. The title is "moving", no matter how hard I tried to watch this drama I just couldn't make it pass episode 5 everytime.
Since you gave it a 9, then it must be an interesting drama. Furthermore, I read its synopsis, and judging from your detailed summary, it looks promising. I'll be adding it to my watchlist, and will be watching soon. I hope I like it as much as you liked it!!!
Choi kang hee is a wonderful actress, her fighting scenes were awesome. And you wouldn't believe she's an actress in her late 40s if you didn't check her profile. She killed her role as agent baek chan mi. I loved her decisiveness, her fearlessness, and what I loved most about her is her formidable part whenever she's on a mission. And you are right, if she were the second lead and was given the role of a police officer, she'd definitely make sure to catch kim joon. And she won't just be capturing him, he might end up with a broken nose if he resist her arrest.
Lee sang hyeob is an awesome actor, I loved his role in "Eve". And whether he plays the ML or SML, he's always selfless, and I've only seen him playing the good guy in most of his dramas I've watched.
Alchemy of Soul's is one of those few dramas that's deserving of its high ratings. And you are right, their chemistry was indeed one of the best one I've seen. I think the wonderful story and acting earned it its worldwide fame.
I was telling you the truth when I said your review is a detailed one, and many would find it helpful. Your review deserved the likings it got. I'd say it deserves more!!
It's been awhile indeed pal. And I know you are not blaming me, but really, I'm sorry for going off the radar unannounced. I've been quite busy thist past few days, but I'm already done with what's been keeping me busy.
Oh, I didn't know that was what you meant. Yes I prefer kdramas and cdramas to thailand dramas and Japanese dramas. But what matters is we have similar taste when it comes to drama genres.
Is oh my lady an interesting drama? I did saw it on your recommendations but wasn't sure if it's promising. The legend of the blue sea is both interesting and funny. And jun ji hyun and lee min ho made it captivating. The way their relationship bloomed into a romantic one was unique.
Choi kang hee gave her best in good casting. Those action scenes were top notch!! It's one of my best agent dramas. When she's on a mission, she disregards her own safety to complete the task given, hence the name psychopath.
Alchemy of Soul's is indeed a heavy plot, and that's not all, it's also heartbreaking. But above all, it's a must watch drama. Almost every users on MDL have watched it already.
10 years is not huge, especially as it's 30s and 40s
Out of my most favorite genres, noona drama is one of it, so I don't care whatever the plot is, as long as it's a noona drama. I'll definitely binge it.
Even if it were the other way round, and the FL in ww is just 10 years older than eun woo. I don't think the screenwriter would write it as a romance drama.
10 years is not huge, especially as it's 30s and 40s
In the rational life, I didn't expect any kissing scenes, and why? Because during the shooting, Dylan Wang was 19 years and hadn't reach 20 then. But, surprisedly we had more than one kiss scenes in the rational life. The rational life is also one of my most favorite noona romance drama of all time. The story, acting, plot, everything about it was awesome.
I didn't include ww because of the absence of romance. I didn't expect some people would still deem 10 years huge. If ten years is deemed huge, then what do they consider plausible?
Romance is a bonus book depicts the life of a woman whose husband left her for another woman, and though she lost her husband, she didn't lose herself. Furthermore, what I liked about the drama is how lee na young's character got back up, and how she pieced together her life's broken pieces. But of course with the ML by her side.
The legend of the blue sea is a funny drama. Although it's been a while since I last watched it, whenever I think about it, I do smile. Wonderful world premiere was wonderful but the end was just not for me, which is why I couldn't give it more than 8.5.
Yes, you are right. Good casting main genre is not romance, but it does have it, the only thing is that its a slight one.
AOS is one of my best, and favourite drama till date. I gave both seasons 10!!
Criticize? Why would I? What for? Humans have different preferences, it's rare to find someone of similar taste. But we can't always agree on everything, can we?
10 years is not huge, especially as it's 30s and 40s
Yes, wonderful world age gap is over 25 years, but it isn't a romance drama, which is why it wasn't included in my list.
Secret affair (20 years age gap), and witch's romance (19 years age gap). And you are right, those two dramas are the biggest age gap dramas so far, not sure if there are some I don't know of. I haven't seen something above 20 years yet. I almost forgot that "the rational life" age gap is also 20 years.
You should really try rewatching "romance is a bonus book" once again. It's a drama that's realistic. So, is good casting an interesting drama?
I also watched "destined with you", The start was awesome, but the end wasn't not as awesome as the latter. The king's affection is a masterpiece, I loved every bit of that drama, the chemistry of roowon and eun bin was fire.
The chemistry of soo hyun and ji hyun is something I'd refer to as "off the charts". It was fire, and I previously watched it 10 years ago, but I couldn't forget it, so I rewatched it last year. And I wasn't disappointment. It's as awesome as when I last watched it.
I've got many series on my watchlist, which I haven't watched. I would have recommended "Alchemy of Soul's", but I figured it's a drama that's been watched by all. Or haven't you watched it?
10 years is not huge, especially as it's 30s and 40s
As long as the tag "older woman/younger man" is there. I'll definitely binge it.If you were to ask me, even if the age difference is 30 years, as long as it's the woman who's older. Infact, I've been searching for a noona drama in which the FL is 25 years older than the ML, but I haven't find any.
I understand what you mean. I also wouldn't have opted for it, but kim soo hyun and kim ji won are wonderful actors, and it's the first time they're paired together. So, I wanted to see what their chemistry would be like, and honestly, their chemistry is awesome!!
But since you said you don't want to watch any drama which the ML is older than the FL, then I've got a few recommendations you should try out. - Romance is a bonus book (2019 kdrama, the ML is ten years younger than the FL in real life, and their age difference in the drama is also somewhat similar to their real age. "noona romance drama") - The king's affection ( 2021 historical kdrama. Though the ML and FL are the same age in the drama, the FL is older than him in real life) - My love from the star ( 2013 kdrama starring kim soo hyun and jung ji hyun. FL is older than ML in real life) - Story of kunning palace (2023 cdrama. FL is older than ML in real life, but ML is older than FL in the drama. Starring Bai lu and Zhang ling he)
How I wish they follow what I said! Many have complained about their timeslots already, but they just wouldn't listen.
Yes, many of our chats often contains the word "cheating". And we've been discussing it for more than a month now. Do give those few recommendations of mine a try. You'll definitely love them.
