it’s very rare for me to watch a kdrama where I never find it dragging, especially halfway through. 13 episodes in so and it keeps getting more exciting each episode. The female characters in this drama are alk badass, each in their own way. The male characters also grow on me bit by bit, also each in their own way. There is no romance in this drama but the character interactions and relationships are relatable and grow at a great pace.

I’m enjoying it better on a weekly basis. Anticipation is part of the fun

He doesn’t feel remorse because he doesn’t think he did something wrong. other lack of communication which is where he might feel bad and she feels wronged, their difference is that of ideals. 9 years ago they realized they had different values. To this day their values haven’t come any closer. But he isn’t evil or else he could have hurt her. He’s calculating, and she is too in a way, but her calculations are all done “for the good of others”. It doesn’t mean it’s without reproach though. In any case this drama is about the underdog’s success and those that join her along the way. It’s about creating friendships and trust. At the beginning of the drama, she was completely alone with only her captain by her side, now she has in addition to the captain 3 sisters, 2 coworkers turned friends, and possible ally or two might show up along the way.

It’s more farfetched that a 12 year old manages to shoot someone for the first time from a distance and succeed. So for sure there was someone else

Exactly I find all motivations for the crimes weak, and their motives for hiding it is weaker.

It doesn’t make sense that she commits murder to hide a simple shoplifting. While the latter might stop him from getting into the school of his choosing, the former would have much worse repercussions on her son.

Agree with you about the murder in this drama. Naoto’s brother is made out to be the worst so we don’t dislike the main characters but what did he do worthy of getting shot? It’s stupid that Makiko did all this hiding just so that her son goes to the high school of their choosing as if his mother committing murder (still unconfirmed) wouldn’t stop that as well. The motivation is weak. And Naoto not caring about his family’s name and putting, which has much worse repercussions than a kid.

It feels like the boys would have been better friends if Makiko wasn’t part of their group. Tobins distanced himself because he didn’t feel worthy, and the other 2 distanced themselves from each other because both knew who she liked and that they all liked her.

as for the casting I’m the opposite I find Takeuchi Ryoma’s character out of place at least age wise. He’s a bit younger than the character he’s playing but LOOKS a decade younger than that. His acting has become better over the years but not as much as the emotional depth he’s supposed to portray. I think Seto Koji and watanabe Daichi are the best cast and in terms of character. I love Inoue Mao and she’s just a bit older than her character but looks her age (maybe because she’s lost so much weight) so putting her opposite Takeuchi Ryoma, it’s hard to believe they are the same age. Also, I have to agree that acting wise I’ve seen her do better and she doesn’t have any chemistry with any of the leads.

I think the tap dancing is mostly to make everyone uneasy. I find Eguchi Noriko to be excellent as usual but her character is too cringey so I have to agree with you on that.

Entertaining but not at fun as the first season. The new lawyer is too serious for that wacky office, which in turn made the assistant who often works with her boring and low on energy.

I like how she likes to get to the essence of the trouble rather than just the problem at hand.

I think “Family Lawyer” would be a more fitting name for the drama.

Exactly if you have different ideologies it’s difficult to build a life together. She knows it, he knows it. He’s disappointed because life has not jaded her and she’s still fighting the good fight. She’s disappointed that he’s still a coward and only thinks of himself. I like the friendship she’s building with those around her. That’s what would bring her happiness at this stage.

I don’t think there’s any indication of that, just that they had history. I find him interesting as a character but yeah as a love interest he has a higher probability of being toxic

He is, he puts companies is bad financial places where he becomes the owner but default by owning their debt. Then he breaks it into parts and sells it, makes a lot of money this way. The ones who lose are the employees who become unemployed. It’s usually easily done when a country is going through a financial crisis but it’s also the worst time to do this to employees.

I think the character that would have matched her most is the dead president. He was mature and principled. Current CEO is too far gone for her. She cannot unsee his cowardice and he’s not so sentimental that he would drop his criminal activities for her or for doing the right thing. He’s jaded. Albert, like Nora, is too immature and doesn’t understand the entitled life he’s living is at the cost of many innocent people. I don’t see Geum Bo having the patience to teach him. The IT guy, I can actually see it. it wouldn’t be a passionate relationship but it could be a healthy one.

In any case I don’t think her goal is a relationship she probably won’t end up with any and be everyone’s boss. I think that’s the most likely haha

Mi Suk represents the average person suffering during the crisis, that’s why her character is important to reinforce Geum Bo’s mission and her motivation.

I always felt nostalgic of the 90s until I learned there were 2 genocides happening then at different places of the world. I have come to accept our world was always horrible and just continues to be. It’s okay to be nostalgic to a time when we were innocent and only looked at the good in the world.

The first 2 episodes her character was vague for me but I have come to really love her character and I especially love her relationship with Geum Bo

Totally agree I like how there is attention given to all characters, character traits in the most subtle ways and their performances are all great.

So far this drama hasn’t had the typical “FL-ML” we have a leading character and all the characters making up her world. But each character has a world of their own. This makes the drama unpredictable especially when each character have their own Agenga which are interacting with others’ agenda.

From the preview last week I knew he was a crook. Kinda like Bok Hee but on a much larger scale. This is getting interesting.

We this has not aged well, the glorification of being a workaholic to the point it even gets in the way of your work and career. Forget having a family or keeping friends outside your work circle, or even your own health and safety, these always come second to your job. Work becomes an end of a means to live. I would understand if the job was a doctor saving lives, but a magazine? In any case, while it had its merits, this drama annoyed me more than entertained me since the halfway mark.
