I don't see a lot of comments about them either but I adore them! I like how they have a steady relationship without…
Oh yes I side eyed the bendy swords too haha glad I haven’t seen much of that in later episodes!
I think both couples are interesting but have totally different dynamics. Wu ShiGuang and Wu Wang Yan are all about finding the source of their problems and finding out the truth. They are learning to face the uncomfortable truths but they never hide from it.
Ji Ling and Lu Wu Yi are more “us against the world” and rather live in temporary bliss and avoid thinking of the future.
I can see how youths can find the latter more to their taste while older people would identify with the former
I’m 18 episodes in but am I the only one more into Wu ShiGuang and Wu Wang Yan?
Also the 9-tailed foxes here live a long time but it’s tragic they don’t get to keep their own lived experience on their own. They live a long time but they don’t get to grow.
One thing I am not getting used it is fights in flowy clothes lol
Had to drop it halfway. I don't like the story. This drama seems to "push" the idea of "false memories"…
I got the total opposite message here. Memory isn’t always perfect but should be taken seriously. Also the context you are mentioning has nothing to do with this drama. But if you found the notion of distorted memories triggering then it’s understandable that you dropped this drama. This drama isn’t for everyone that’s for sure
Dude, I'm on episode 12. This show is absolute banger. Finally something good to watch after Mysterious Lotus…
yeah I have started a lot of this style of drama and gave up a few episodes in, and with the amount of pretty people here and aesthetic I didn’t expect much but I was so wrong. I didn’t think I would need this much concentration to follow the story haha I mean we have 5 leads and each plays multiple roles + all the other characters that play important parts in the setup and mythology. The other one that I enjoyed was the Vendetta of An.
Who’s the bad guy? So far only Wu ShiGuang seems not evil but not exactly good lol the rest all seem evil but each has their reasons and everyone seems to be manipulating everyone
This is a rare case where the drama gets better AFTER the halfway mark. It becomes more focused on the setting and less on the drama. Teacher Kim’s values as a doctor are great, is his actions outside of it are childish and unprofessional. I enjoyed Kang Dong Ju and Yun Seo Jeong’s character growth but didn’t like them as a couple. I found Dong Ju too forceful and also childish, and she lets everyone walks all over her. Well that is until the halfway mark of the drama. The supporting cast/characters is what held the drama for me. The head nurse, the manager, the doctors from the main hospital. My favourite is Do In Boem. His character had so many hidden flaws that get revealed slowly until he has to face it. His conversation with his dad on episode 20 put everything he did before in perspective.
I don’t get what the director of the hospital’s role was meant to be. He was the most useless character in the drama. Even the journalist had more effect in 2-3 episodes than he did in the whole show.
Also I noticed there were barely any scenes outside the hospital.
Not sure if I’m up to watching more of this now with seasons 2-3 but this was entertaining enough for now.
Junicho and Mariko endgame is pathetic.Dont know how the novel endef but what are they teensgers caught in adult…
I wouldn’t go so far to say manipulated, it’s more like her actions lacked logic in my opinion. A badly written character. She went from a mother desperately trying to protect her life with her son to just letting it all go for a childhood crush... Also showing a bad immature example of being an adult to her son when she tried to hide his mistake instead of owning up to it.
I thought Naoto was obsessed with her but in the end, it turned out it was his guilt motivating his actions.
But yeah I’m not a fan of the end couple. That kiss in the end felt so forced!
Agree with you about the murder in this drama. Naoto’s brother is made out to be the worst so we don’t dislike…
Yeah I understood that when I watched episode 8. He deserved everything that happened for what he did to her.
But her whole actions around her son’s mistake was so wrong in every way. instead of teaching her son to own up to mistakes he saw her commit a crime to hide it. Then she came clean about it to protect someone else… the character has no logic
I liked this series (loved Ryoma as usual) but the last episode left me a bit cold. The connection between Nara…
I didn’t care about the relationship because they had no chemistry. And other than their childhood crush they really have no history, and we didn’t see them grow together throughout the drama. If anything she was pushing him away out of fear of being found out.
The whole handling of the case from 23 years ago was not well incorporated in the drama. All they had was circumstantial evidence and honestly if it had any realism the guy could have just denied it and they couldn’t have done anything about it.
So was this drama perfect? Nope. Was it entertaining from beginning to end? YES! Grear pacing except the last few episodes which went by too fast. I think an extra episode or two would have been nice.
The success of the female lead had more to do with convenience rather than intrinsic or logically make sense. The era it’s set makes it easy to forgive such loopholes.
What makes this drama great are the characters. The writer doesn’t limit herself to the usual FL-MLSFL-SML. Instead she focuses on all the characters and their personalities, the growth of the relationships.
I'm on ep. 14 and I still don't get why this grandpa wants that much money lol I mean for what is he going to…
We will never understand greedy millionaires. People like that aren’t capable of loving anyone and base their relationships based on how much people are of use to them, even family. The most unrealistic part of this drama is how all his offspring are good people
It's never boring, imo. Great actings, good cinematography, many funny moments and no romance so far (but there…
I also commented that I don’t see the romance developed here and got an angry reply XD. I never was a fan of her coupling up with Albert but don’t have any strong feelings anywhere it goes which also is to the credit of the writing to leave viewers open to possibilities
it’s very rare for me to watch a kdrama where I never find it dragging, especially halfway through. 13 episodes…
To each their own but I don’t see it. Dates doesn’t mean romance. Geum Bo went on dates to get information and once they were at a point of trusting each other, she doesn’t treat him any differently than Lee, as younger men who’s maturity isn’t at her level yet. As for Shin, he was trying to get connections through his relationship and it never developed more than that. Geum Bo and Shin do show hint of past romance, but the fact they can work together this way shows there aren’t feelings getting in the way. There are great relationships developing all throughout the drama just not the romantic ones, at least not in the conventional way.
I've become a fan of PSH ever since I watched her in The Judge from Hell. She really plays strong and badass characters…
It’s rare for a drama to handle pacing so well, especially when it’s non-episodic. It’s rare for me to not feel a 16 episode kdrama to not be draggy but this one never had a dull moment but also gave us time to appreciate all the fun moments. it picked up the pace the last 2 episodes but the bits we are still getting from side characters is perfect

Generally it’s what this drama gets right all the leads with their complicated pasts
Also the 9-tailed foxes here live a long time but it’s tragic they don’t get to keep their own lived experience on their own. They live a long time but they don’t get to grow.
