This was pretty funny. the subtitles was a little off cause it kept referring to the sister in law as brother…
LOL! Many KMovies do that -- they mix up gendered pronouns :) U get used to it after a while :D And OH, HELL YEAH, Zzongbie was gorgeous from the start, lol!
I don't know if other movies go with the "hallyu is so big, rich people have a fetish from it" kind of a plot...…
I so agree with EVERYTHING u just said -- both comments! SungOh had me literally laughing out loud with his divalicious, theatrical expressions & antics... what about him apologising at the end or claiming to have a sick, old mom or threatening suicide?? LOL... and the 2 bumbling "idiots" were so darned funny & likeable -- that one guy blocking the lady in white with a superb Chinese split! :D
EXCELLENT lil movie with an EXCELLENT, LOVABLE lil cast <3
this is exactly my type of stories, the comedy is totally my style (why did you have to steal my car, it's my…
HAHAHAHAHA :D YESSSSS! Welcome to Hallyu, where everything (including comedy & dialogue) is just Asian-Level & beyond! <3
Sadly, I could only find a HORRIBLY-subbed copy, so, many details were lost on me and I didn't exactly get the logic behind her kidnapping, other than that he was just some crazy psycho :D
Awwwwww, YEAH, my MinKi has such a similar look & vibe to my darling SungOh ( never realised that till your comment!) and both men are INSANELY CHARISMATIC & TALENTED! They've got the same sharp & high cheekbones, too. Have u seen "Monster" with MinKi & my darling Kim GoEun?? It's a MUST-SEE!
Ok, the subtitles sucked, BUT it was mostly understandable what is going on. This movie is a gem, loved it! Ma…
Yes, Yes & YES :D Also, PRECIOUS SungOh's expressions, antics & theatrics had me in stitches :D literally, laughing out loud :D He's def SK's divalicious king of theatrics and the whole entire movie & its cast were just SUPERB! What a darling of an ending, too <3 <3 <3 King Crab it is! :D
i just finished watching the movie and i truly enjoyed more than i thought hehe i really wasn’t expecting anything…
Oh my <3 I'm about to watch and this thread just thrilled me, cuz I'm also a HUGE FAN of Kim SungOh -- my, who could ever forget that most-charismatic, highly-entertaining, fun-to-watch psycho villain from "Man From Nowhere" ("Ahjussi")?? -- and I was hoping that he'd have a meaty role here! The man is just AMAZING & he OWNS whatever he's in! There are simply not enough movies etc with my beloved, charismatic SungOh... such a TRAVESTY! :'( Such a FUCKING TRAVESTY!
EDIT:- Just finished it and bfhjjjfd dgjjkkkfd sfh dghdhhjiii fghhiifsfhirshiirf *keyboard smash*! I'm still laughing out loud @ precious SungOh & his divalicious expressions & theatrics :D :D :D What a SUPERB ride of a KMovie, and that ending was just too damned sweet, cute & PRECIOUS <3 I'm still cooing n gushing :D EXCELLENT movie & cast! EXCELLENT!
Is it that u didn't get the synopsis or is it that u watched it and didn't get the ending??
Yay! It truly was a (monochromatic) masterpiece (perfection, indeed!), and I just had to rewatch twice! Yes, so true about the Commander, but also bearing in mind that the King had to put his pride aside and play dumb for all those years, just for the sake of the bigger picture! That couldn't have been easy! Also, Shadow's actions at the end caught me by full surprise! That I did not see coming!
You stole the words right out of my mouth... When watching this, my biggest regret was i couldn't enter the TV…
Errrrr... I don't know if I'll label SJ & YJ as borderline or even full sociopaths... or even psychopaths for that matter. Desperate people do desperate things and doing unsavoury things to survive, especially in a TOUGH society/country like SK... I just don't know, man :/ Plus, look at YJ's mysterious uncle -- the one who we never got to see, but whose presence was strongly felt at times -- his unsavoury past & equally-unsavoury present-day job were heavily alluded to several times, but it was a godsend when it was time to pay YJ's Mom's hospital bill, not so?? Sighzzzzz... why must life be so HARD & SAD, man??!! That's something that always rubs me RAW in KMovies -- the "bad guys" (even when they're the main leads!) all have families to support, oftentimes, huge, extended ones, and/or huge debts/hospital bills/school bills to pay, huh??!! And their blood monies and/or powerful connections are always godsends in crisis moments, huh??!! :'( Lifeu is just TRAGIC! Lifeu has its own way of breeding sociopaths & psychopaths :'(
Get yourself out of your head... WARNING!!!! THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL BLThat being said, the greatest tragedy…
[SPOILERS AHEAD...] I read your comment twice, and while I appreciate & live for insightful, deep & intelligent comments like yours, errrrr... I dunno, man...! I loved that yours made me replay the entire movie in my head & reassess things, though :D That HUGE-ASS CHUNK of subtitles that was missing (GRRRRR!) at the 28min mark would've most probably given me a better perspective, but just working with the subs that were available and from what little I gleaned from this story & its endings, I'm not convinced that YJ was the master victim & masterful/subtle manipulator here. Maybe, if I rewatch I may see what u did -- but I dunno and who can ever really be sure about life's gray areas??!!
* Maybe, YJ hid his feelings about the girl cuz, just like us, he thought that SJ had feelings for her??
* Also, (again, damn those missing subs to hell!) I can't really think of a scene where SJ made his (romantic) feelings clear to YJ.
* Remember, YJ did try to leave the job but was threatened and made to show up + was assigned the new task of drugging the girl cuz his face was still bruised from his beating by the bullies and the guys thought it'd be bad for business -- for his usual duties of befriending the ladies! He didn't just drug them & deliver to the hotel on his own!
* In that hotel-room scene, could u really blame YJ for calling SJ a monster like the others?? Remember, he was NOT privy to the real job before that. My hearteu ached for SJ when YJ was leaving, though, saying that he was gonna turn himself in :/ When SJ poignantly pointed out that YJ still had someone to help him & his mom out! No matter how much YJ hated this mysterious uncle of his, he was always available to help, and that was the most HEART-WRENCHING difference between him & SJ -- poor, poor SJ, a high-school student, who not only had NO ONE to turn to, EVER, but was in fact burdened with a sick or handicapped parent or guardian or maybe, relative :'( Poor SJ had to make his own way in life, in a society that's already so damned difficult & unfair! South Korea is no easy country/society to survive in, especially for the poor :/
* On the whole, emotions are DIFFICULT things for any human to handle! It matters not at what stage of development/growth, but ALL OF US are susceptible to our emotions at any point in time!
* Several things were DIFFICULT to comprehend here:- (1) Those bullies had to have known that SJ would retaliate after that YJ beating!! Like... WTF??!! How DUMB (or maybe, BRAIN DEAD??!!) did those bullies had to have been, man??!! Sheesh!! (2) Only at the end (that prison scene) did I get SJ's TRUE motivation for that rape! He certainly did not intend to kill her (that was purely accidental!) but he certainly did want to vent his rage/frustrations on her and I'm guesstimating that he banked on her silence (cuz of how rape is viewed & treated in SK society!) but still man... still...! How could he do such a thing?? I hated him for that. Still love him, still feel so bad for him, but yet still, I hated him for that! Lol... what an oxymoron of emotions! Man, I would've never guessed that ending in a million years :'(
So, I know this was super long, but I loved your comment and how it got me to rethink things, and I just wanted to answer your points :)
