And what gets me is the utter lack of anaesthesia or some sort of humane-ness in those damned barbaric punishments…
Forget germs... how on earth did those poor souls (guilty or not!) survive that INDESCRIBABLE PAIN & HORROR??!! I don't even need to be tortured to know it's truly unspeakable! And, yeah, about the germs/lack of hygiene back in those ages -- it was definitely luck that many survived. The mortality rates from poor hygiene were still high, though; higher than modern times. And those BARBARIC FUCKS only cauterized & sewed up wounds so that people wouldn't bleed to death! No fucking empathy, whatsoever!
Exactly!Checkout "The Face Reader" if u haven't already... it somewhat parallels that observation that peasant…
It's on KissAsian(.sh) -- just remove brackets.
I can't wait for u to watch "The Fatal Encounter", too (also on KissAsian & see my other reply), especially, cuz there's a pivotal piece of dialogue that 100% mirrored my very own mind & the general sentiments on this thread about royal/palace life! Don't wanna spoil it for u, so I won't quote it, but I can't wait for your reactions/feedback! Mannnnn, that bit made me sit up straight, gasp out loud & rewind, so that I could mentally applaud, again!
It's based on a true story. He spent 8 days in that chest before he died. The thought of how he died makes me…
SAMEEEEE!!!!! Also, irl!!!!! Last night, I watched "The Fatal Encounter" -- yet another frikkin HEARTWRENCHING MASTERPIECE!! :'( #OUCH #THRILLS -- and I'd love to recommend to all here, cuz it's a (partially-fictionalised) sequel of sorts to "The Throne"! Be sure to browse the comments-section on the first page (the page with plot summary, cast etc) cuz there's this commenter who provides solid K history & perspectives, along with other KMovies/KDramas that are about the characters/backstories of "The Throne". The additional context of both "Fatal Encounter" & this person's comments shed sooooo much more light on this one! Sooooo much more... :'( Makes it even more PAINFUL, too :'( Anyways, do check it out, folks.
Lmao at Song Il Guk’s hair. So funny he looks like a clown rather than gangster.
It caught my attention, though :D It makes me expect one super-confident, self-assured, badass kinda character, with a unique & hopefully quirky personality! My FAVE kinda people... <3
It is no longer on Netflix any one know where i can watch this?
Copied from @ PrettyCarEye below:- "You can watch it on hulu.com if you install Hola, the free vpn extension on Chrome and put the US as your 'viewing from' country. That's how I've been able to watch it with subs. One thing to be aware of if you decide to use this method, you might feel overwhelmed by all the ads. I use ad blocker plus but it doesn't seem to work on this site."
Does anyone know where i can watch this with english subtitles???
Have u tried (free streaming) sites like Dramanice, MyAsianTv, GoodDrama, Dramacool, WatchAsian, BoxAsian...?? There're also AsianCrush & OnDemandKorea, but those aren't free and aren't accessible to all countries/regions. I requested on KissAsian today + u can always run another Google search and see if new links/sites pop up for it.
I saw it as her becoming the new Queen Bitch of the Royal Palace! As one Queen Bitch was being executed, another…
:O Whattttt?????!!!!! Was that after the credits or something cuz the last thing I saw was her lil munchkin :D <3 clambering all over the throne and she staring eerily into the camera! I'll check it back later.
I didn't mark this as a spoiler because I discuss NOTHING about the plot. I mention a few vague items that happen,…
And what gets me is the utter lack of anaesthesia or some sort of humane-ness in those damned barbaric punishments back then! How on earth did people survive those vile, horrific punishments back then; both physically & mentally?? Gosh... humans... the most vile, atrocious species!
HwaYun was married to the King and gave birth to a son. Instant rank attained, cuz wasn't that the sole aim of every Royal female in those times?? So, why did the younger brother Prince become the new King and NOT her child?? Did I miss something?? Was it cuz her father was accused of & sentenced for treason??
I adore the ending.....so full of sorrow and vengence......and the best part of the movie was the king's obsession/love…
Gosh, IKR! Poor former lover/eunuch! It's like the poor thing just went from one sufferation to another! His only crime - being poor & in love! Sighzzzzz
I think this movie deserves a better score. It wasnt the best but it was good. But when I got to the ending I…
Exactly! I loved the king, too! His only real fault here was his love, then obsession, for her that caused all sorts of rash actions & desires! Not to be facetious, but, errrrr, at least he died happy & with lifelong desire fulfilled! Bucket List -- check & check...
i dont understand why she killed him tho >:( i lowkey shipped them :(
Firstly, LOL @ your username! :D :D :D
Secondly, I was in shock, too, but I think it's cuz she had completely changed and now wanted her son to be king! Of course she was lying, cuz I'm pretty sure her child was the eunuch's and NOT the late king's! As badly as I felt for her & the new king, the true, consistent victim here was that poor eunuch! It's like he was fate's chew toy or something :'(
I saw it as her becoming the new Queen Bitch of the Royal Palace! As one Queen Bitch was being executed, another was taking her place! Just look at her shocking transformation after 5 years of royal life... from (seemingly) pure & decent lady to manipulative & conniving opportunist! And in that treacherous environment I understood that she had to play the game to survive, but... I think she did a complete 180! Poor eunuch -- her former lover -- poor dead kings & her poor, poor son! I can just imagine how she'll manipulate & control him now & in future! If I'm reading her right that is!

Had a feeling so!
The reality is usually always much, much WORSE! Sighzzzzz :'(
And I don't just mean that he physically gave birth to him!
