I have two words for this drama 'UTTER RUBBISH' up to ep 17! I love long dramas because it allows for character and plot development but this was too frustrating and nonsensical to watch up to episode 17. Things improved only marginally in my opinion until up to ep. 34 after which it got considerably better from 34 through to 37, when some truths were revealed and lies exposed; then it dragged some more to ep 48 and got better from ep 45 - 50. My problems with this drama were it dragged, too many gaps in logic and the villain was ALWAYS TEN STEPS AHEAD! Loved the male lead which was probably why I stuck with it; not the worst drama but could have been a lot better.
I liked this lakorn a lot mainly because of the strong female character. In fact there are a number of very strong female characters in this, albeit at various levels of sanity but still note worthy. The drama is indeed a social commentary set in the back drop of a revenge story, however it gets a bit 'preachy' at times. It touches on a lot of social issues, and it may have been better to concentrate on 2 or 3 and develop the story based on those three issues, especially since (in my opinion) the "revenge" was unwarranted.
I really liked that Kit went against the rules and was able to still accept a woman who, as far as society was concerned, had been involved in an affair with his uncle. Kudos to him for following his heart and flout convention for his love.
The script could have used more editing but I found the drama enjoyable.

This was my first lakorn, and to sum it up, it was the craziest, unrealistic, most nonsensical drama I have watched to-date. I was annoyed most of the time while watching but stuck with it hoping things would get better. But they did not! I agree with Rain's comment that Paat's distrust of women should have been more fully developed because his behaviour did seem irrational, including his determination to remain obtuse to the truth staring him in the face.
I did not like the main female character, 'Pueng', very much; she was too good, and oftentimes stupid because she had a slave mentality and blind loyalty as a result. She and the rest of her family helped to create the monster of a sister, but refused to hold her sister accountable; her sister can only change for the better if she is made to acknowledge her wrong doing. It's not going to happen because Pueng wants it to be so. I felt Paat was too good for her in that she was not ready to be the kind of woman he needed; she had a ridiculous, irrational sense of indebtedness and responsibility to her family, low self esteem and super subservient attitude. How attractive is that?
My chief complaints are the writing could have been better, the editing tighter; there was too much repetition in theme and dialogue making the pace excruciatingly slow, and some characters needed further development. There was also a glaring lack of accountability for some criminal acts. I gave a generous rating of 7 and that's because I liked Ken, and some of the supporting characters.
As much as I like the main actors I had a problem with their being a bit too old in some parts for their roles. I think they should have featured younger actors for the part of their youth up to their mid to late 20's. In particular, Ryu Su Young was too old for his part. Period! It was odd watching him with General Chun who was suppose to be like a 'father' figure. They looked almost like peers!

LOL..Thank you, for saving me time and grief. I'm on ep 3 and don't particularly care for HKH much even though he's not that bad; so I actually was hoping for the same kind of ending ie. for HKC and IA to be together. I think I but now give it a miss. For 40 eps, the end has got to be worth it!
This drama started off cute but halfway, the writers either changed, got drunk or smoked some weird stuff cos the second half was a hot mess! I only continued to watch in horror at how something so cute and benign could turn so sour and ridiculous. The experience was as if the writer went on a break and in the interim some child picked up the manuscript and completed it. Worse, no one seemed to notice because they actually filmed the crap and passed it off as acceptable work! I was very disappointed as I do like Yan Aaron. The two female leads were awful characters for different reasons: Tao Le Si was too goody goody, she allowed herself to be bullied far too much, and her character was insipid. Li Tia who played the role was also not a good actress. The character of Huan Huan was plain and simply an immature, spoilt bitch whose family was her ruin. The actress playing her role was not that much better. I really can't recommend this drama it was very frustrating and annoying to watch.

Not to be out done kudos to Choi Shi Won, who really did a great job portraying the egotistical, ridiculous but very sweet Kang Hyun Min; I laughed every time he came on! I always enjoy Jung Ryeo Won because she usually takes roles which has the female lead as spunky and independent. She's 'Ace' in comedy roles and I loved her as Writer Lee Go Eun. The battle of wills and chess moves in the game of revenge was really entertaining for me and at times reminded me a little of Golden Empire. Really good watch!

Pretty, in researching this as part of my wanting to verify the info I gave you I found out that there may now be two endings, as an alternative ending for this drama seems to have been created. What does that tell you? It means Heck NO!! I really hate dramas seconding guessing themselves with alternate endings.

Hi PrettyC, it has been a while but if I remember correctly, after the 'promise of romance' between Yun Fei and Beibei, along the way she meets Lizhong who falls for her. So you have this triangle where in my view it seems she feels more for Yunfei eventhough Lizhong is always there and helps her a lot. However the drama then stalls and you don't really have much happening. Then towards the end Yun Fei meets his old flame again in hospital as she was really was terminally ill hence the reason he lost touch with her, he marries her and she dies from her illness. He and Beibei meet up again but she asks him to race against time for her and she still ends up choosing Lizhong whom she has a luke warm affection for, it left me like...what the @# did I waste my time on this? The main lead ends up with no one and the main female leads ends up with a man whom she 'likes' when she could have had the man she loves. Complete waste of time. I hope this is an accurate recall of events. I get annoyed when you have a character who could have their true love, then messes around and ends up with 2nd choice and lukewarm love. uggh!
Just completed this drama and words fail me to describe my disappointment at what can be considered a travesty of potentially decent romance script gone so badly and sadly wrong! The careless writing is beyond redemption and I was thoroughly frustrated watching this, pissed off at times, and amazed that the writer had managed to turn fairly decent strong and sensible characters into utter morons towards the end. I think the Director should also share some responsibility, because surely he could have improved upon the obvious lack in the script. I will stop here otherwise it will turn into a rant of a deeply disappointed viewer on the Unforgiven. There are some parts that are fine, and the chemistry between the two main leads is great. I actually really liked this couple and the love/romance that grew between them. So yes there was some 'good' but far too many of the bad and the ugly which outweighed the good, so don't waste your time.
I'm at episode 6 and I can appreciate the comments already made. I started to get frustrated with the development of the story line took a break to read up the synopsis and commentary to see if the drama would get better. I guess I know that it is unlikely.
