I agree whole heartedly with your comments about this drama having amazing potential. I made a similar comment earlier that it had all the right ingredients and started off very well...then something happened with the script and things started to go downhill. Overall I enjoyed it, especially the fight scenes, the scheming and loved Gaya's character. A shame because it seems to have had a big budget with all those people and stars.

There are mostly two kinds of people watching this drama. 1. Those whom love it. 2. Those who find it pointless,…
Then I am in the minority. I didn't love the drama, I only liked it and that was because the script writers spoilt it a number of ways, otherwise it had the potential for me to love it as it had all the right ingredients. I did not find it pointless, however there were a number of meaningless parts and people hence my reference to script problems. All in all it was enjoyable and I gave it an 8 because I really like KHJ and think his acting has improved. Still a ways to go but he has improved.

Rainruma, I had quite a chuckle reading this but you are absolutely correct. I had the same sentiments. And like you the merits of this drama for me was based on the chemistry between LLC and Su Man and their romance; that's why I felt in the last episodes they could have developed that romance to make more sense. Notwithstanding it was still good for me. Any other ones that have lovely romances tag me as I'm a romantic. I like other stuff too but really into 'romance' no matter how sappy :) Try Secret Love, with Ji Sung as lead male see how you like it. There are some sensitive subjects like abuse but approach it with an open mind.

I totally agree with you on all points here! I noted under your reviews you really liked 'Princess Man'. It is one of my all time favourites for many reasons. So I noted that you gave Rashomon a high score, so I looked it up. It looks interesting so I'm going to give it a go.

Rainruma, thanks for the info. I did find it and watched all 49 eps. I actually skipped through 48 once I saw it wasn't going the way I wanted and went to ep. 49 which made much more sense. Don't know why the writer was thinking when the Song Yi character, and more perplexing was the book's ending. Anywa TA

This was a good drama and I liked it, but I disliked male lead Song Yi's character; throughout the drama I found him to be weak, selfish, indecisive and totally faithless, under the guise of kind and sweet (BS!). He was shown up so many times by his rival Lu Cheng that it was pitiful. I also did not always like Su Man's character as she was somewhat ridiculously smitten and could not see through her 10 year crush to the real deal. The script was a bit confusing in that there were many indications that SM and LC would end up togetherI, and yet there was an 'open' ending. I was a bit disappointed in the romance that did not definitively develop between SM and LC in this drama, and that there was too much focus on the 'crush' which had no basis in reality. Song Yi, turned away from a woman he supposedly 'loved' to another woman out of guilt and to whom he felt obliged, in a blink of an eye without the courtesy of the truthful explanation. This badly hurt SM, especially given their intimate weekend to celebrate that love. In my humble opinion he could not be redeemed from that and therefore did not deserve a happy ending. I loved Lu Cheng's character, he was the better man hands down! Best Times Special Episode 2 was a much more suitable, consistent and logical ending.

Hi, where can I watch this?

I really enjoyed this article; it's worthy of a true stalker. I'm a big fan of Rain, and I think he is charming and quite handsome. Lovely man. Thank you.

Thanks for the article and recommendations. I've seen Ip Man and loved it, gave it a 10. I have put the other two on my PTW list and will definitely get to them before summer is over. Good stuff! BTW "Legend of The Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen", reproduced by Andrew Lau and starring Donnie Yen; the original "role made famous by Bruce Lee in the 1972 film Fist of Fury. The film is a sequel to the 1994 film Fist of Legend, which starred Jet Li as Chen Zhen". I would also recommend this as a good vacation action movie especially if you like well done martial arts films like me.

I loved this drama and had a blast watching it! Totally hilarious and entertaining. I would caution 'would be' viewers to pay attention to the actual script and not get caught up in the obnoxious character of Ma Te, because you can get distracted by his antics. The script gives a lot of clues about his true nature but some how people seem to miss the clues (don't know why). From reading the various comments I found that viewers were transposing Ma Te's narcissism onto the actor JGS which was not fair. He's a seasoned talented consistent actor, and you need to differentiate between his character from his person. Very good watch for the discerning viewer in my opinion!

Yeah, I find Huan Huan thoroughly disgusting, but then look at her mother and brother! It's amazing she managed to be sweet and innocent with those two misguided sharks at her side. But I guess blood can't hide!

Awesome article which I enjoyed very much as Jang Geun Suk is one of my favourite actors. Well and thoroughly researched and rich in detail, just how I like my stalker's article :) Thank you!

This drama needs to be retitled 'Cry Me A River'!!! There is crying almost in every scene, and I mean buckets of tears. I don't care much for the lead female's character...she's a bit too weak, too stubborn and sometimes too stupid; having said that there are a few admirable traits: she's very loyal, kind, sensitive and giving and sometimes these latter traits can be mistaken for stupidity when they are in fact strengths. Anyway watched up to ep. 16 (though it was painful at times), and waiting for the rest of it.

Poor Lu Tian Xing! Poor OZ! When they'll found that Huan Huan is only a liar? I can't continue like this! She…
'Toy' is putting it mildly. They treat Lu Tian Xing like an indentured servant; at every opportunity his Auntie is bringing up what all she did for him as if he's indebted to her. That family is psychotic and the saddest part is they have managed to turn what seemed to be a sweet girl, Huan Huan, into a raving looney! The Auntie seems to be catching on to that a bit late, Lance is totally out to lunch and lost in a sea of jealousy and revenge....Urgh they're so distasteful and ungrateful after all it is on the back of Lu Tian Xing's talent that the company is so successful!

XD that there are alternative endings is an indicator I may be disappointed in the drama. After 47 episodes it's got to be more definitive in terms of a conclusion or else why bother.

Thank you for this article, great job. I was debating about whether I wanted to see this drama, and not because of the age difference as I really don't care about that, I just didn't think it would be all that. But after reading your insightful article I will definitely give it a try.

I enjoyed this drama very much and thought that LJK did an excellent job with this role. My only problem with it was that at times it seemed ridiculous in parts, where certain actions or decisions just didn't make sense, so I rated this a 7. So for me I guess to really call this amazing I think the script could have paid more attention to certain details to make it tighter. Nonetheless it did not prevent me from enjoying the drama. I know there are some out there who would not understand the concept that you can criticize a drama/film and still enjoy it but there it is. :)

This might just be me but I stopped watching after the first few eps because I found it too boring.
That's understandable, as like everything people have different tastes and this won't appeal to everyone. I found this drama to be riveting and the main protagonist is absolutely on point in his characterization. I like the clever writing and the storyline which is different from the run of the mill dramas. I particularly liked the battle of wits.
