And as for Xue Yi, he deserves Seven by his side, and vice versa.
This Cdrama won't be about the story per say, but about two talented actors not meeting the "beauty standard" with overdone plastic surgeries (*they are gorgeous as they are to MY view point*) are able to reunite viewers.

It's a blessing to have them both and I really cannot wait for the moment they act face to face.

There are so many oasis and Club Med compounds on their routes that make the characters too lazy to step at least one foot in a warm spa. Even their camels and horses don't have the privilege to brush their teeth.

As you said it well, the audience has shifted as it is a younger one with crazy fan base. We entered through the back door of a fast consumer generation. Alas, their brain is shrinking.

A pause at the 7th episode.
I don't get enough of it. Watch each episode twice. Will not jump to the last as not to spoil this journey. I am still wondering what is mesmerizing me, the story ? the production ? the acting ? the OST ? the props ? the horses (I love horses) ? the cast ? the crew dedication ?

Luke doesn't have a father figure so, Luke has, unconsciously developed a low emotional intelligence syndrom. Hearing his father abusing his mother and him verbally is the absolute result of Luke's emotional complexity. Everyone around him including his besties have fuelled his arrogance.

This being said does mean that he should allow himself to verbally abuse others. His ego has, for years, boosted his narcissistic personality. He is the type of man women shouldn't approach unless he has an Eureka moment. He has a border line syndrom and enjoys the results of his power onto others. I wonder why the writer hasn't given him the chance yet to face consequences. He really needs therapy sessions - Flora doesn't have the gift for this type of mission.

I really don't blame Luke neither Flora. They confuse jealousy/abuse/mistrust with love especially with a First Love. Is love an emotion that can be learnt or taught ? may be. Because love requires dignity towards oneself and the other. Luke's and Flora's type of relationship is universal. Some humans make blind choices whatever the age. In this case, it is a choice to stay into a toxic relationship. Yes, they know it is toxic but still confuse this emotion with love. There were many a times they could have split...but their ignorance blinded them. Life experiences require self dignity and dignity is a learning process that cannot be humiliated.

I shall watch to the end as I want to witness what means the writer will use for a complete "volte-face".

I wish you to come across future gems like this be it Easterners or Westerners. They are few and when they land like Monarch butterflies on my screen I secretly thank our Creator for inspiring such writers, screenwriters, directors, technical crew, the actors actresses be it main leads or the supporting ones. I appreciate your motivating comment.

The pace allows me to discover each character and read the silence between their dialogues. The silence, the desert, the wind, the actors' motion are as one. Quite a difficult tension to convey on the screen. Wuxia genre, to me, is not to watch at a fast pace.

My favorite genre of Cdrama. I love republican era Cdramas although they portray the inhumanity and arrogance of the japs during that period. I know this genre cannot do withouth them.

Shall take a while going through the episodes as I played and replayed the intro of the 1st episode at least four times.
I love the spirits of the desert straw bales in the intro with a particular mood. This gives me the vibe of Once Upon A Time In The West plus the blues harp are iconic.
Back to this story, the string instruments from North of China and the orchestration are fantastic.
