This is the love story between XiaoYao’s mother and General Chi Chen. The MLs death at the end is the start…
Its common for cdrama to change the names especially if the production houses are different due to copyrights. sometimes they use alternative names like here the FML is A Mo but her family call her Heng, so thats what she is referred to in LYF.

I am at loss of words at today's episode. Xiang Liu I know you are a great planner but damn your plan execution is perfect.

p/s: its funny that Haoling King is #TeamFFB but not shocking as he himself is at the battlefield where Chi Chen and XY's mum died. Also, he is probably the president of #TeamYaoLiu

*My opinion is* - The scene after that, where old general mistook Xiang Liu for Chi Chen shows his importance…
He unalived himself to save XY's mum but she end up dying anyways.

*My opinion is* - The scene after that, where old general mistook Xiang Liu for Chi Chen shows his importance to the Chenrong Army after they lost the war. Its cruel to Chenrong army if another of their symbol of hope end up forsaking their cause for an opposing country’s Princess, again.

And the drama is showing that Xiang Liu helps her to overcome the source of her misery and focus on herself i.e archery / making poison / playing zither.

Honestly, I don’t get what this poster is trying to do. Its just a drama. Like I *personally* find TSJ struggling to find his “lost memory” cringey coz he is a married man still hung over an ex and having his friend spreading stories that he is baby trapped (?) - among others. But I just pressed the magic *skip* button 🤷🏻‍♀️

anndd I’m gonna run now. see you tomorrow 🤣

In the scene with Lirong Chang, when Xiang Liu snapping himself back to reality is so sad to me. In that moment he really considered leaving everything for her, its like his whole future with her flashes in front of him but deep down he knows its not possible.

And that scene is strengthened by the next scene when the old General mistook him for General Chi which shows how important he is for Chenrong Army. He really had no choice but to accept love is not destined for him in this lifetime.

Also, all these while he stayed near Rejuvenating Hall (?) He really took that protecting everything Xiao Yao holds dear seriously.

p/s: If I’m XY, I’d be more pissed at CX after knowing his schemes coz I could’ve had life with XL if not for wanting to protect his throne and he even killed the other guy I chose?!

XL don't wanna change this path even his beloved one begged it 😔.. So XY has to give up XL... XY always ready…
In Ep4, I think he really considered leaving the army but the scene after that, where the Old General confuses Xiang Liu for General Chu shows how important he is as a symbol of hope for Chenrong Army. He couldn’t just leave them all just for a girl no matter how it kills him inside (and literally). Besides, as the old general said, he will be repeating history and for that my heart breaks for him.

I physically cannot process the level of heartache I feel for Xiang Liu. He can tell her who not to marry, and…
when he looks over the window, for a moment I can see he imagined his whole future with Xiao Yao but he know its not possible. INEED SEDATION TOO

She got her answer. Xiang liu will choose this path again, cause that's where he met Xiaoyao. His character development…
When he asks her if she’s okay in Ep 4, his vibe is totally differenct from the previous time when XiaoYao broke her promise to him. I am amazed by how TCJ portray the character development.

Now thinking back, its a good thing Xiao Yao never figured out Xiang Liu's heart because how can you live hating him when he is alive only to realize he is the real deal when he is already gone

Omg! Now I understand why its such an emotional scene. His sacrifices & her everlasting yearning... God, season…
Honestly, I live for their angsty couple fight. How can he be so hot like "I'm sorry I fu**ked up, you can take my life now, shoot here" instead of crying and asking for forgiveness.
On Lost You Forever Season 2 Jun 24, 2024
Damn! Xiang Liu is so manly, like... he accidentally offed one of the guys and be like "Xiao Yao, I know you're mad, so you can kill me as replacement. Hit the arrow at my heart. Don't worry about it, I have 8 more lives".

Then proceed to use one of the lives to resurrect her effing boyfriend, resurrect Xiao Yao again, killed the lovers bug and went to battlefield. And like at the end of it still thinking "If I die, will you be able to live?"

TJC really brings Xiang Liu character to justice. I cried at the trailer, how am I going to watch this to the end.

Happy Ending or not ?
Compare the first time she died and the second time she died. In the first one, both of them could not let go and he became depressed. The second time, despite her death, he stayed true to his promise to her. (1) They travelled together by communicating through the message in the jar until the day he died, separated by 300 years. (2) At the end she met him again, reincarnated and fulfilling his promise of finding her regardless of lifetimes.

TLDR: I came for the cute romance but stayed for the healthy, trusting and faithful romance between Wei and Yinxiang.

I hate palace politics drama but this one is an exception. From my take its actually a parallel love story between MingWei-Yinxiang and MingHui-Yinti. First half of the drama focused on MingWei-Yinxiang relationship and the second half focused on Minghui-Yinti. So the scheming become heavier as the story progress esp when MingHui-Yinti relationship started as a marriage for convenience.

For perspective, this story runs from the 45th year of KangXi reign to sometime after YongZheng so that is about 20 years-ish. MingWei and Yinxiang by all means actually should only have the days which he teleported to modern world. However, Yinxiang having to spend most of half his lifetime with a girl literally he saw in his dreams is a happy ending on its own. She originally does not belong there and eventually have to go home and when she met a reincarnation of him, that is a happy ending for her.

Despite everything, I also loved MingHui-Yinti dynamics. Yinti was loved by his mum so he know how to love while MingHui was hated by her mum so she always think that she can only have things by grabbing them. I guess thats why he choose to accept her deception because he wanted to love her but she never had someone who loved her as she is, so she can't see through his affection until the very end of the drama.

And at the end, this story is actually about what love actually is, fleeting emotions that turns into faithfulness and companionship as time goes by. It is also a journey for MingHui's redemption and how it changes Wei-Hui relationship in the modern world. If you are considering this drama, I'll let you know that this is not an idol drama eventhough the palace politics is not that grim.
