It's the same universe and apparently they were in the novel as well.

That fact is actually shown at the end of the novel - Rain is defending Sky (who is despondent at that point) saying that Sky despises his ex. So I hope that next ep will show it.

I am currently binge watching "The Eclipse" (I decided to watch if once all EPs were out, as I was on long vacation and did not want to be kept in suspense for weeks 😃) and I must say I enjoy First there a bit more than in "Not me".

I am hoping that they actually do series with plot (NC would be a nice bonus - but at some point people were complaining that that novel hat to much of NCs 😆). They should take an example from "Not me" - the book was bunch of nonsense and lacked plot (not to mention White's "1st time" with Sean was while drunk + kind of forced/coerced in the bathroom, and at the same time in the room Black was having sex with another guy from gang... The last guy in the gang was sleeping on the floor of the same room 🤯) but the screenwriters basically only left the names + twins swapping and created something much, MUCH greater than oryginal novel (Gun really was selling all possible variations of twins and the social commentary - apparently kidnaping plot was based on real life events).

If you want to put blame about the Rain/Sky friendship on anyone's shoulders then... it's the novels author. The series follows novel quite closely and I have to disagree with you about Sky confiding in Rain. In the novel it's clear that Rain knows that Sky despises his ex. Additionally Sky bottles up things inside (his "love letter" from last ep was the best example) - not to mention that the things his ex did traumatised him and many victims need years to start to open up about what happened to them, so Sky's behaviour is quite normal in that regard.

If you have read the novel you would have known that Sky doesn't cry because of his ex - when that guy hurt him, Sky's tears were not changing ex's behaviour, so Sky finds actual crying to be pointless. If they follow the novel as closely as they were doing do far then it all is going to be explained next ep + you should get sky's tears, as apparently some think that one cannot portray sadnes/being hurt without them...

I will tell you this: the script writers did what they could with source material (novel is basically p*rn with sprinkles of plot here and there) and it's not bad - at least the communication part is not as tragically bad as in the novel (basically Dragon is being - often not intentionally - insensitive, Big gets emotionally hurt but stews it inside and as soon as Dragon does any kind gesture Big runs to him like a big pushover, they don't talk about the issue just have s*x - basically in every chapter there is long description of, sometimes physically impossible, s*x sessions they have -> repeat).
Let's pray that they removed the biggest (by length) plot point: Bigs pregnancy 🤯. The stupidity of the characters was off the chart with that one (not only Big believed that he was pregnant but Dragon and Bigs father + some others as well). It was bonkers!

The series was basically p*rn with a little of plot (the longest and additionally craziest plot point was MALE pregnancy - yes, Big + Dragon + Big's father and others thought that Big was pregnant with Dragons offspring 🤯). We learn about the fiance long after half of the book and it's resolved in few paragraphs (turns out she is lesbian and runs away from country with her girlfriend as her parents are against their relationship 🙄).
If they truly were to made faithful adaptation of this book it would have been AV/p*rn and not BL.

It's based on a novel* and the novel is basically p*rn 😆 (I'm on chapter 24/32 and last chapter finally Dragon mentions that he has fiance - that's the 1st time in the novel!)
*Thankfully all that plot parts are not done as in novel since the whole relationship is really toxic and all can be summed up with: talk to each other. Seriously it's like they are physically not capable to speak... and not just because their mouths are engaged elsewhere 😏

Happy-soon-to-be-birthday, but... I read the novel and at the end of the preview you can see Sky in the car = trouble (we should be as well officially told: "this is Sky's ex"), so prepare tissues (I hope that they fit the resolution to this in the same episode as there is another, even more gut wrenching, "issue" comming our way 😭), so here instead of curse of EP11 I see curse of EP12 and EP13.

I read Sky+Prapai novel and the show is tracking the progress described in it quite close. I also fear about the time constraints as we have (in my opinion) 3 major events* and 3 episodes left, so I hope they don't rush the important parts (in next ep** it seems like they will do the "Sky gives in" - I personally really appreciated Prapai's attitude in the book at this major event, so I hope his whole side will be portrayed... this is actually what makes Sky to be more open about possibility of a relationship).
*chapter 13, 18 (events start to unfold from chapter 16), whole catastrophe starts from chapter 21 but the major "impact" is in 23-24 out of 25+epilogue+special

The true "introduction" to his ex is when they go to some friends birthday party*** (in book they also had mentioned ex on the race track without pointing out who he is and I disagree with you that their relationship with Prapai seems close - they are just acquittances exchanging pleasantries).

Sky bottles things up (he doesn't cry because it did not help him during the most traumatic event of his life) - this includes love, so when the dame breaks... it really breaks.
Additionally Prapai in the book is surprisingly insightful (considering his playboy and not carrying ways) - he almost from the begining understands that Sky carries deep wounds and even when everything seems to be against Sky (especially when his ex tricks them to basically repeat of the trauma) he just needs to hear one sentence from Sky to put the pieces together, figure out Sky emotional state and the likely truth.
I seem to like to abuse my heart because I not only re-read the last 2 major events: "love letter"**** portion (after which Sky is being introduced to parents and sister) but the "repeat trauma"***** (afterwards introduction to brother and uncle) as well and I cry every time. I so hope that the series will do its justice 🤞(as opposed to, for example, in the series Prapai seems a bit like a slacker at work when in the book he is described to be workaholic).

I am suffering from shipping him with anybody that's not FL* (started with FL male friend, who became his helper**... I am basically "BLing" the series since now I shipp the "brothers" - head disciple and the pharmacists*** - as well XD) but I am still around 15ep, so I might change my mind.
Some sections are not logical to me (like how FL was able to stand the ground while fighting with Fairy's man - since there are so many of them and they are disciples from better place, shouldn't they be able to handle her rather easly before she "foxed"?) but I still like the show.
I hope for more screen time for ex Master "searching for herb" to bring back dead lover (i.e. being duped by the Phoenix). She was such a bad ass :)
*FL comes across as such a fake - even when I know she is not pretending her smiles make me feel like she has ulterior motive.
**Then for a brief moment I was thinking that maybe he might have something with the head disciple... but the helper seems to suit him better 😏
***I think I read that he is supposed to be butterfly's love interest 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I would like to add something about GMMTV Shop: pre-ordered box set was originally to be shipped by late May but now it's mid-June. I think that "Bad Buddy" did not have the timeline for it's box set changed - which is another proof for me what a massive hit "Not me" was.

Yes, in the novel Gram loves Black (and is the only one who hadn't figured out that it's White the whole time... Sean+Yok figured him in like 2 seconds*, but Gram needed to be told).
Black also has some feelings for Gram (he slept with him too - and boy did that mess the poor Gram badly) but is messed up in the head (literally) and mad at Gram for not remembering/recognizing him when they met again in University. Gram was just pretending because he made move (=kissed him, I think) on Black in elementary school (?) and I think that Black "decked" him right away.
*Honestly how White can be so stupid in the novel? At one point Yok gave him some sweet drink and said that it's his favourite. To that White thinks that it's true for him, White, but Black hates it (he tried to make him drink)... and that did not light any lightbulb in his head! Like none at all!
At least in the show White tries to emulate Black (even thou he had no contact with him in years - unlike the novel, when White and Black would meet behind their divorced parents back).

Poor Rak/Ruk. 1. He is constantly being sexualy harrased - at work and at home (Dao should take a hint). 2. He has 2 moody & stubborn teens (how else to describe Diao? 😂) to take care of. 3. I wonder what happened in his past relationship(s) - he looked so sad when talking about love. I almost wish for the cliche ex comming back and gets figurative "face slapping" (just seeing Rak + Diao blissfully happy would fulfill the criteria for me). 4. All the people around him (Jod excluded) seem to try and test his patience/bottom line but he [almost] always treats them kindly/politely. ***Side note1: I wonder if he already has some feelings for Diao, because he is, in my opinion, to forgiving/accomodating. Coaxing Diao to eat was a prime example. ***Side note2: Yeah, Earth is "drool worthy" 😉 ***Side note3: what about grandchildren? I wonder how is the family going to react to their relationship considering that apparently only Diao's offsprings are possible/passable 🙄. I hope it turns out it was all in Dao's head - she really needs to mind/fix her own love life (because it's also not great what she is doing to her boyfriends - no wonder Rak wants none of it).

My assumption is as well that Todd is behind a lot (he is the only one knowing about attack on Black even though he was not friends with him anymore - explain that!) but I cannot [hate him] every time I see that baby-face XD
I also think that Sean is not the son of the driver but related to Tawi (=children rebelling against their parents) and Todd was trying to use Black (and now White) to find (he lives in garage) and perhaps make Sean behave/blackmail. As a bonus je might be collecting blackmail material on future diplomat - White.

He went to his family house - demolished, so he could not reach Yuki's mother.

As for the meeting in Alaska - Yuki also went there on vacation.
