I think it's part of the culture - like you have to honor/respect your elders/parents, so it basically doesn't matter what they do you have to forgive them. Sill I think there is a slight progress here, as shows start to at least allow for some resistance to this kind of behaviour (if I remember correctly in Bed Frinds it ended with no contact with Uea's mother, which is actually a big deviation from "normal" resolution).
I guess I will console myself by reading the novelsππ€π
I read part of the the FaifaWine and it was fine (there was more of Fai making Wine kind of think he was hitting on him, just to get disappointed the next second π€) but once we got to Fai's enlightenment that he is in love I couldn't with the 2nd hand embarrassment (we got his PoV and he is just to hyper), so good luck to you. Honestly I think that I like series Faifa more but they could have kept not only the scene with the car=bus but also the one where Fai invites Wine for a run and it turns to Faifa running with [it seemed] like half of the school π.
The way the mom is still treated as if she did anything to earn any kind of forgiveness? Makes me so irrationally…
Oh she did something about it - made it worse! She basically torned him from his family, then dropped like hot potato when she got new family and did not care how he was treated in said family (I get that Yotha and Newton were kids and felt resentment towards Faifa instead of the monster that gave birth to them), used and abused him (telling your kid that he was chosen because with Yotha she wouldn't have any reason to return was just πΏ and she still expected him to chauffeur her to and from airport without even carting to let him know about the plan change). You know when she actually seemed to take notice of him? When he decided to stop this. He wasn't going to pick her up, get meal together etc. On other worlds he was no longer under her thumb, so she kind of love bombed him to get him back in to the fold. I do not believe for a second that she was truly remorseful and not just manipulating Faifa.
You know what ... Faifa is the most brave one about love and nobody knows this... this is so sad, nobody knows…
Every time somebody says something to the point that "Faifa doesn't know how to love" I would like to smack them. Fai is somebody who loves people a lot - he was just being surrounded by people who cannot see it nor appreciate it (his monster... I mean: his mother even said multiple times that he loved his siblings and father and missed them a lot) but since meeting Wine he finally got somebody who sees the true him and appreciates him.
I thought i was the only one who wanted to suckerpunch the mom guess i was wrong
You are not the only one. I have been calling her a monster at least since EP16 but I thought badly of her since the whole "I forgot my son is severely allergic to milk". When I think she reached the bottom, she finds ways to sink deeper π€¦ββοΈ
She really is an awful mother. I wonder how screwed up her other set of children are.
I really cannot with the resolution - it was even more half-assed than Yotha's π€¦ββοΈ (can that be even called an apology?) She always was and will be a monster to me - her other kids must be happy for them to move to England, so when she comes back to Thailand (every month, apparently) they can take a break from her. Her thanking Wine for opening Fai up because "even her as a mother could not do it" was so fake. Lady, you just need to take a tiniest bit of interest in your son and he would be an open book to you (he was still basically begging for scraps from the table [of love]). She only made any effort once Fai was standing up to her (=slipping from under her control). I actually wish that Fai ditched her to go to Wine π Her saying that she know about how Fai felt the whole time was just reaching another, seemingly impossible, low. There is no team of mental health professionals who can fix this mess.
I don't get how Gun can be so "Mommy! Mommy!" (+spy!) with her π€’ And they still repeat "Fai doesn't know what love is" π€¦ββοΈ Wine should have recorded his reply and play it every time they say it π€
I think a lot of people either didnt watch the YothaGun storyline or are just forgetting it. But the fact is Yotha…
I think you write about the novel Yotha because series one was not protective of Fai (against the mother + in general keeps him at an arm's length + has negative opinion of Fai from beginning, like when he was constantly threatening him not to mess with Wine). In EP09 it's Fai who comes up with an excuse to get Yotha out of the house because their mother is coming. Nobody reacted to mother's cruel confession in EP16 about how she used Fai, nobody seemed to see notice how heartbroken he was - it was honestly hard to watch. People who only watched series see how Fai is treated by basically his whole family (this is for that monster they call mother: "someone who loves you wouldn't do it" from Family Line by Conan Gray) and Yotha doesn't look great here (in EP21 Gun asks him if Fai was informed abouth change of plans and he basically shrugs that off and "virtually" puts it on Newton's shoulders... do you know who did almost identical thing? The mother putting the blame on the father in EP22 π¬). Let's not forget that it seems like Fai was kind of shunned by his family when he was abandoned by mother (by that I mean Yotha refusing to share room with him, Newton apparently stopped being good brother) - they were hurt by her and they were kids but so was Fai (arguably she messed him much more up) and he was the youngest - he decided not to put his trauma on others and treat others like Yotha did.
I just figured out that Mark( Wine) was in sky in your heart .. I totally forgot
How could you?! π I honestly was forgetting his name sometimes and thought of him as Prince more than Mark (as somebody else pointed out - there are plenty "Marks" but Prince suits this Mark more).
I'm rewatching FaifaWine and can't help but point out the little details. In ep 19 (4/4), When Wine finds out…
I will add some criticism to it: the way Wine did the change was incorrect (you have to clean the screen and such) - it takes more than 5 seconds to do do the whole exchange (not 30min, as Wine was telling him earlier but still). Let's not forget that because Wine was certain that Fai is not going to change the screen protector, he brought multiple bandaids! I really like that they each take care of the other and it's not onesided (and let's face it: Fai needs somebody who actually cares for him and puts him first, as he is not getting that from his family).
was going to say the same thing but have said it more than twice here. still, can't get tired of rewatching from…
I have been doing rewatched of their story line for at least 3 weeks and I watched EP17-22 this week already 3 times (I am skipping some parts, though). I thought I had it bad with Not Me or Last Twilight but FaifaWine are just the healthiest couple (I am starting some spreadsheets coughing kisses, hand holding and their "cameos" in other couple's storylines (with time stamps). I was not planning to buy DVD for this series but those two are making me rethink my decision.
I really need Faifa and or Wine to give a piece of mind to the mom (and also the rest of the family, but I doubt…
I see simple solution - no contact. Since she is leaving soon (and moving to England with her new family), so it's not like she will be bothering him. No contact = no disappointment. For rest of his family... perhaps soft low contact and see how it goes. He now has Wine, so it's not like he doesn't have a family. Side note: will we get Wine's family meeting? I wonder when/how he will come out.
currently watching ep 17 but why i saw yotha's name in some comments saying bad things about him related to fifawine…
Fai is generally taken for granted by people in his life (and his mother is basically a monster, her forgetting his allergy is just the tip of the ice berg - I so hope he will not make up with her, but if forgiveness gives him piece of mind I would be ok with that). Yotha is quite biased about Gun but that's how some people are in relationship π€·ββοΈ (not a defense of that kind of behaviour). The part that really angered the people was Fai picking up his mother from the airport, waiting for 5h there (+freaking out that something happened) and it turned out that his whole family knew that she changed her flight but nobody informed him. And apparently it wasn't the first/only time π The worst part for me is Yotha actually being aware of how Fai is and why but still being inconsiderate of him (only carrying about Gun). There is great quote from Fai (last sentence is kind of iconic): "Yotha lived with that trauma for like 10 years (not going to spoil it but you will see how much of a monster for all of her children the mother is in last EP of Yotha's storyline). When mom remairied, she moved me back and left me here. (...) Yotha made up with mom. But the reason that cleared up his trauma is what's holding me back from moving forward." If I was Yotha, hearing the mother's explanation would maybe make me feel better about the whole abandonment of me personally but I would have never forgiven her for Fai's treatment.
I really want Wine to tell off Newton and Yotha for taking their little brother for granted. Tell me you know…
I so do! Nobody thought to call him π€¦ββοΈ Yotha needed to be reminded by Gun. His answer was a shrug and that Newton probably called him. This is also another strike against the mother: she told everybody except the person picking her up (because sending at least a text is simply to hard). When I think she reached the bottom she finds a way to get lower π
