Came back to reminisce and got spooked by the poster. This poor thing looks like it was photoshoped using something…
Other members and I submitted better posters but all were rejected. MDL insists on using this ugly one just because it was used as a small icon on iQiyi streaming site. This policy of MDL is not applied for all dramas so I don’t know why it must be MM. 🫤
Ao Rui Peng’s characters in Coroner’s Diary, Moonlight Mystique, and Seven Relics of ill Omen are nominated for "WEIBO TV & INTERNET VIDEO SUMMIT 2025" awards. Congratulations!!! 🎊🎉 🥳 https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BA6zNH3h4/
Ao Rui Peng’s characters in Coroner’s Diary and Seven Relics of ill Omens are also nominated so his recommendations may be spread out for 3 characters. He successfully portrayed 3 completely different characters in 3 dramas from powerful, weak, gentle, humorous, grief, martial arts… I was truly impressed with his versatility and he is well deserved for the nomination! https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BA6zNH3h4/
So I watched the trailer and...I can't figure out if Deng Wei is supposed to be playing Sakujun (as previously…
DW plays Sakujun but the story probably is changed because DW is the second ML instead of Riley Wang who plays Seiran Shi. I don’t know who portrayed Ensei but I saw a picture of an actor holding a flute so I guess he plays Ryuurei. https://kisskh.at/photos/81o3e2_3
I almost finish season 2 and just want to share my thoughts (no offense here).1) My most favorite part is the…
The romantic relationship of Ning Que and Sang Sang is the most unusual and unrealistic that I have ever seen in a drama. I think Mo Shan Shan is more compatible with Ning Que and they would make the most beautiful couple in the drama if they were together. They share the same talents, Mo Shan Shan is very sincere with him, and he also likes her as a grown up boy falling in love for the first time. Meanwhile, Sang Sang to Ning Que is like a maid or a sister. He chooses her over Mo Shan Shan just because he is so used to the caring of Sang Sang. I don’t see Ning Que looking at Sang Sang as a romantic interest like he does with Mo Shan Shan. Furthermore, after saying goodbye to Mo Shan Shan, Ning Que is very sad and disappointed so he did not come to pick up Sang Sang as he promised but get drunk instead. Later, he admits with Sang Sang’s father that he really wants to have concubines but he knows Sang Sang will not accept that. If he loved Sang Sang more than Mo Shan Shan, he would not behave that way. For Sang Sang, if she truly loved Ning Que, she would be content as long as Ning Que is happy just like how Mo Shan Shan behaves in season 2 (I mean Sang Sang would let Ning Que choose the one he likes without jealousy if she truly cared for Ning Que).
Realistically, Ning Que can be with Mo Shan Shan and hire maids to take care of the cook and house chores instead. I believe Mo Shan Shan’s attention to Ning Que is not less than Sang Sang, but regretted that her time spending with Ning Que is too short to make him choosing her.

1) My most favorite part is the cultivation in the Tang Academy. The 13 disciples of Fu Zi are all genius and admirable. They surprised me with their unique skills and bravery near the end of season 2. In season 1, I enjoyed watching how Ning Que becomes the Tang Academy’s disciple. In season 2, I enjoyed watching the cooperation and fighting scenes of all disciples. The real identity and abilities of the 3rd disciple really amaze me because she does not show her talents in season 1.
2) In my point of view, the cast in season 1 are the most appropriate, especially Ning Que. I almost dropped season 2 when watching the first few episodes because the new cast in season 2 didn’t engage me much. Fortunately, I still keep watching otherwise I would miss to see how great Fu Zi’s disciples are and the biggest plot twist in the story.
3) The politics and romance in this drama are not enjoyable to watch. The romance seems unusual and unrealistic (the reasons are in the spoiler below).
Despite some drawbacks, this series is one of the best Wuxia dramas I have ever watched. I rate 9.5/10 for season 1.
