This series really surprised me. Wataru-kun seemed so natural. How can I put it...almost as if he wasn't acting but just being himself. And I expected some usual clichés to happen. But they didn't. The show was quite grown-up to be honest. Short but cute and honest. I really liked it!
I'm at ep 5 and not too sure if I can get through this. Certain things are just overly comedic. When I started the series, I didn't read the tags or anything. I watched a short fan-made video which didn't show any comedic elements. At first, I found it funny but there are so many things I cannot handle. The police found the diary where he was lying in the car, so they think it's his. Legit. The doctor says he has amnesia but can do things that he once learned. So WHY does he assume that he's a serial killer if he isn't capable of mirror-writing with his left hand? There were quite a lot of situations that let me shook my head. Also the fact that this series has 16 episodes. What do they fill all the time with? It feels like there's a big void looming just to get back to the first scene in ep 1. There was nothing that I usually enjoy in thrillers but there was everything that I dislike about comedies. And even though the story takes place in Korea, I bet there must be some producer wanting to go against conventions. People fighting back, higher-up's not behaving like complete dickheads just because they think there is some hierarchy system that turns them into gods. I really struggle with myself if I should continue this show because each episode is quite long already.
In my opinion the story falls quite flat for an action movie. If it mainly consists of cursing at each other and beating up your colleagues (yes, those in rank below you are your colleagues as well) then I'd say there's barely any action or story left. I can't judge Korean culture of hierarchy based on this movie. I know that it's bad at times. Of what I heard it was especially bad at the time this film is supposed to take place. I don't know if this was perceived as a good movie by Korean audience because they might think it depicted reality quite well in there POV's. But that's only speculation. As an international viewer, I've seen much more convincing movies from SEA. It's not a complete failure (have to admit that I watched it for Lee Jongsuk and he was brilliant in this role) but it lacked plain depth.
I'm usually not too fond of manga adaptations but I didn't know this one. So I gave it a try when I saw the first episode on gaga. It's pretty good and funny. With only 6 episodes in total, the series is quite short but I don't mind. If they can maintain this quality, that's more than I usually hope for :)
Seriously?! Then this will go RIGHT. ON. MY. LIST! Heck yeah! I mean...the trailer didn't show me a story as we got it in Manner of Death but I don't care! This was looking good and now I'm really looking forward to it ^^!
What's with this week's series, making us going insane?? Jom, trying sooo hard to keep his cool, when he himself…
Jom reminded me of how I feel myself. When I feel like I am falling apart but see my partner being in pain as well, I have to keep it together. When I am alone though, it feels like it's always on me and it's really hard to handle. So I can empathise with Jom on a very high level. He surely didn't feel betrayed by Yai because he knows that his lover isn't at fault here. It just feels so unfair sometimes. Apart from the time travel being magical, it feels as if there's destiny being all against you. Always putting new obstacles in your way. To be honest, I didn't see the end of this episode coming and I am glad that I was wrong because I anticipated something completely different. Maybe because I just had a very bad weekend and rough start of the week and felt like finally giving up. But Jom pulled through and so will I. Let's keep this rolling!
I read the novel, bai is actually pretending about losing his memory, and fan has short time memory lose,he just…
Had to drop the latter one but really like the other two.
I find it a bit sad that it seems to be necessary to serve clichés because....I think I outgrew the liking for that? I just think for myself that I consumed so much content, be it BL or any other genre and no matter if animated or not, that it's impossible to stick to something for all the time. It's nice if a series picks up a cliché to rebuke and correct it. But that's not what the majority of BL's does. Be My Favorite had clichés as well but they handled them pretty well. I think I just wish for a "normal" series containing BL. I enjoy romances but not to the extent that I can appreciate every plot device for the n'th time :(

It still is quite a big letdown. It feels like poor story telling and I wonder if the screenwriters can't come up with original stories. I didn't know that this one was based on a novel but it seems almost any BL is based on an already existing story. I'd really love to see more original ones. Some that are based on novels are really good but other ones...not so much. I agree to kYuBin because this plot device is just extremely overused. It's sad :(.
There is so much heat between Marc and Pawin ….even if nothing romantic happens…way more the mains.., Perth…
Comparing to how Chimon was in the first few episodes, I wonder if those were filmed after the current ones. There was quite a lot of tension and it felt so stiff in this and the last episode. It felt much better in episodes 1 and 2. So I partly blame the script but maybe preparation time wasn't good either? This is all speculation though.
The writing (and directing?... and editing?), for this show, is so bizarre to me. The character motivations aren't…
I wish scripts would be more original as well. Not based on any novels or comics. Just something new. This show seemed so promising but now is quite of a letdown. As you already mentioned, Kang hurt Sailom's friend, damaged his reputation etc. It was an interesting start and I loved how it turned out in the beginning. Sailom messing around with Kang and the latter one being caught off guard. That made a lot of sense. But then, when they grew closer and Sailom remembered how Kang has treated him and his friends, why didn't it take more for Sailom to forgive Kang? I get the part of "falling for the bully". Been there. Felt shitty. Failed hard. But here it wasn't really written out that well. As if the script writers either turned lazy or the novel itself wasn't written that well. I don't know about that but I am just a bit disappointed. The first few episodes hyped me up to expect an interesting and thrilling story which is why I have to say that producing shows one after the other shouldn't be the way for Thai companies. It's quite obvious to me that quantity though seems much more important to them. Combined with a huge amount of fan meetings, interviews, concerts and such much other stuff... I appreciate slow shows from small companies much more these days.
Guy and Nawa doing romantic things (feeding each other, etc.) while taunting each other without realising it is…
I was a bit confused as well. Is the show based on a novel? Then I'd blame it on the story itself but otherwise on the script. I can't imagine that young adults who just found love describe intimacy as "indecent". You'd usually see them not letting go of each other. But the depiction of their relationship here seems -as you said- more like a very close friendship than a romantic relationship. It's not bad but...why call it BL then :(? I like Perth and Chimon as a team, they could represent a romantic couple but both their characters seem timid. Chimon's of course more than Perth's. Without knowing it better, I blame the script for it. Chimon really is a very good actor but somehow this is not it yet. I hope for some development even though it's only four more episodes to come.
It's not really that I found this series boring but...I think illogical is the word that I'm searching for. Some actions don't make sense. I know this is a made up series but can they depict certain aspects of life a bit more realistic please? Zo meeting Joke's family for the first time and Joke's dad is talking like that? Completely out of emotion? And doing a 180 after what Zo said? Which also was quite out of line. It felt "staged" (yes yes, I know it's a drama) but to such an extent that I myself felt uncomfortable. So I wonder what this whole series actually wanted to tell me. Something about growth? Understanding each other and getting along with your own family? So they are telling me an easy talk will solve my problems? I know by now that i need the more realistic series except if it's about some kind of fantasy or already screams into my face "I'm super stupid and there's a lot of angst! Be prepared!". So if I know that beforehand, I can deal with and enjoy it. This show on the other hand was....quite meaningless. At least to me :/.
I had to skip through the obviously cringy scene. I could overlook SOME of the not so well written parts in this episode but that was...this is how you say "sorry"? I think if I were Zo, I'd have turned around right away after seeing the balloons and picture. Him saying "this is ridiculous" and leaving made me thank the lord that at least HE was still kinda normal ^^. The side-couple confuses me a bit as well. From "I can't show it to the public" to "I wanna show this to everyone" in a blink of an eye? And kinda forcing it? Hmm... I also don't understand the part of the vacation. What was that scene for? Zo being gone for three months and suddenly they're back at uni again? Or are those three months supposed to happen later on? Well...actors can't help if there's a badly written script :/.
Are you perhaps familiar with the japanese way of tatemae / honne (建前 / 本音) and "reading the air" (空気を読む)…
Thank you very much for this comment. I didn't know these specific descriptors for their behaviour but I know a bit of Japanese culture and behaviour for quite some years. So even though I understand or can guess where they are coming from, in this specific case it's too much for me. There have been series from Japan or even other countries, when I thought that better communication wouldn't have led to a specific situation but I could still enjoy the show.
Teruteru bouzu was something I saw in anime quite a lot when I was consuming them as much as I consume (BL) series now. I think I even read in a magazine what their meaning was but I guess this is just something you won't understand if you've never seen it.
your watchlist is full of thai bl garbage, wrdgaf what you can overlook 😭
It's a little bit sad. It is usually quite fun to talk about recent episodes. Even if it's a comment like mine, it's usually still fun to me. I want to understand different opinions, why they like or dislike a show or why they might even drop it. Sometimes we reach common ground, sometimes we don't. But usually I still learn something out of the conversation. I'm upset that it's not really working on MDL.

Mhmh...I see. Very eloquent. Thank you! I know that my comment is harsh but well. Your input is very telling :). I think I'll stick to reddit then where there is backlash but you can still talk it out. And on top of that: Thai BL garbage? I'm starting to wonder if you're new to BL in general and haven't watched or read a lot. Each their preference of course but this kind of wording is quite serious compared to my outburst.
