I only skipped through the episodes and just listened when Play and Folk were actually talking. By now the only "series" that I liked with Gameplay was "Ingredients". Why is it that all series he participates in are quite underwhelming? He's a good actor so...what is this?!
Oh Gosh! By now this feels like a car accident. You just can't look away 😣 So everybody was able to count one plus one together except Ken?! He didn't get until the very end? HUH?!? Was the novel itself also this chaotic? I mean...I probably WILL come back for the last episode but this was a big disaster xD. I wish for Haii and Boom to get roles in a better written and directed series next time.
Myungjae caught my attention. At first I was really worried about him but there are ways to do these stressful routines with having asthma and it seems that he starts to get the hang of it. He should still take good care of his health. I was super happy that they gave him the long hair in ep 3 ^^. And for Yaya and Santa: I really love them both and especially for Santa I know how much dancing he did before this. I don't know if it's the stress of the current situation, not being able to properly communicate etc. but their energy in these few episodes felt quite off. "Maybe" it's the fault of editing, maybe not. I was kinda happy about the first voting results (even though on viki I didn't see Santa getting into first place...but maybe I messed up xD) and in the end this WAS a popularity vote. So it didn't come as a surprise that Yaya and Santa were in the top 5. But this vote doesn't say anything about their abilities to become a KPop idol thus I don't understand why everybody in the comments seems to be fussing about this result. It was only the very first voting and it only shows the popularity during that stage of the show. I know that I am slightly biased but of course they need to keep up with the others. Long story short: new trainee in my heart is def Myungjae 💖
at first i liked K-Soul. sassy and honest people like him are always really refreshing but he is becoming unbearable…
I think it's also due to how the episodes are cut? I have a similar feeling but I won't judge him as a person because these kind of series want to produce certain drama. So I won't judge.
Does anyone know why SM music isn’t being played during the show? Taemin, NCT, etc.? The songs are edited out…
It also felt like ep 2 was cut off and ep 3 didn't start where the other one ended. Or did I miss something? Like...the ranking? I thought it was a different one due to voting. It felt kinda weird.
I'm a little bit behind with the series (finished ep 7) but it seems we will get the annoying back and forth as in the manhwa but get denied cute doggo and the second couple. I wish directors would write original stories which contain BL. I don't need full romance stories. But the adaptation of manwha-stories barely works for me. I saw some complaints why this series is "only" rated 7.9. I don't get in which universe a 7.9 is bad but MDL seems to be that kind of universe. I think the better BL from SK, which is still airing, would be TES for me. Iirc, it's an original story (just as I wanted) and it's relatable. It doesn't have this kind of forced drama and actually feels like taken out of the life of a real person. At least I am more attracted to these kind of stories. Doesn't mean that I couldn't enjoy ULS but it still has these parts that I find so annoying. I'm not sure if I wanna go beyond ep 7 because the show will have a happy end anyway. Just to please the viewer (or for the manhwa the reader). I even asked myself who would bring somebody to a restaurant if the other party mentioned to discuss something important. But yeah...enough of my ranting. I will let that ep sink in and will decide later on if I want to continue this or not.
trying my best to say away from the spoiler comments 🥲
I always managed to do it. Just not reading the comments, watching the episodes and then come here...just to see that all the spoilers are being pushed to the bottom ^^°.
Seeing another series being able to present how care for mental health works and King carefully listening and letting Uea just talk...fantastic! So many series have been a let down in that aspect and now I have two series on my list which did a good job. I know that mental health problems still are a taboo in many countries but this is a good step and I love it!
I was kinda crushed by the preview though and...I don't wanna be pushy but: Tutor when? I was expecting him at around the middle of the series so, what's going on ^^°?
"I hurt my hand! I can't shower" * Hand goes into the water while sitting in the bathtub* xD Nope! I can't overlook that fact and I had to laugh a bit. It made me remember when I needed to help my partner washing his hair after they had a surgery. So of course I lied. I CAN overlook that fact because it was a cute scene ^^.
Why is there a need for almost every drama to bring in the effin disturber?! But I don't wanna rage too much because for a drama this one is quite realistic and even though some characters are a bit over the top and annoying, the series is still fine. AND! We get to see some kind of proper therapy! I'm in awe!
Due to being stressed because of uni I couldn't watch the last episode in one go. So...we WILL get a season 2, right? Right?! When will I be able to jump off this waggon?? 🤡🛺😭
He- Hello? I'm...I'm still on the waggon! Please send help! 🤡🛺 That aside this episode made me think that either we will be left at a cliff hanger and will have to wait for s2 OR we will have a very rapid ending. I seriously don't want the latter one.
Why is it still unacceptable in today's society NOT to drink alcohol? East or west, if you do not drink alcohol…
Luckily my circle of friends doesn't mind if you don't wanna drink. They might get surprised if you once did drink and suddenly don't but they won't force you to still drink alcohol. I see it in Korean and also Japanese culture that you HAVE to drink. Especially if your boss tells you to go for a drink after work. There's no way to talk your way out of it or you'll become (as you said) an outcast and will be called impolite. Maybe you can talk your way out if you're a single parent. But this behaviour is quite questionable and this show wasn't showing the downside of heavy drinking. It felt more like it was encouraging to drink so that you can overcome your social anxieties? At least I felt the hint towards that which made me feel even more annoyed. Also: "we will give you a shitty review because you kicked us out"? They had the chance to eat but drinking alcohol was a no-go and the women's behaviour was just not reasonable. Did they want to lure him out? Was it their intention to make him say they should leave if they wanna drink alcohol? And why does a restaurant HAVE to sell alcohol? It's similar to where I live. There's a bar which also sells food and is financially supported by the student services. They are the first vegetarian/vegan bar (also selling cake) and still people leave comments like "we are being patronised", "why don't you sell dishes with meat again" or "you're using our money for that". It's extremely frustrating and saddening to see that people need to care so much about other people's lives. I'm sorry for going on an OT rant here ^^°.
This felt kinda half-cooked for me. Quite constructed and I easily get annoyed by talking but actually not saying anything. I feel like a broken record these days because I've watched so many series which made me think that proper communication still seems to be very uncommon. Thus I also question my behaviour again. Why do I watch those series and not drop them? I think I just want to distract myself but I seriously should look out for other series then. Right now I have high hopes for The Eighth Sense. But All the Liquors was sadly a disappointment for me. Talking without saying anything, not asking even though interested, superficial, having easy solutions for deeper problems. That just doesn't sit right with me.
“I just wondered why Uea just can't speak up.”This is actually very common in victims of abuse and who sustain…
I thank you a lot for this detailed comment. It always saddens me to see people struggle and not being able to reach out for help. I'm only a pharmacist (still in the making) but I had struggled a lot as well and except for my partner, family members interpret my behaviour as being lazy and have a very obsolete view on what mental diseases actually are. It took me so long to seek out for help which is why I feel a bit frustrated that nobody actually voices their concern. May it be either for themselves or for Uea. I see why Uea can't speak up and I wish (just as you do) that the writers would show how you should care for mental health. There have been quite an amount of K-Dramas that I have dropped because the conclusion wasn't to seek help. It was that the person who suffered just ignored a certain problem and after that was gone, they were all better again. To me that felt like a punch in the face. If you as a director decide to portray mental health and its treatment, you should properly dive into the matter but I guess it's still a taboo in SK as well 😞.
But seeing you as a professional, I thank you for your insight and all the help you offer. If anyone just wants to talk, even though I am not a psychologist but a mere pharmacist, I am always here to listen as well!
After sleeping a night after watching the latest episode, my brain works a bit better again. I just wondered why Uea just can't speak up. I thought that he already had a lot of interaction with King, somebody who is straightforward. King should talk more as well but then again the series doesn't really show how the relationship between him and his mother actually is. Would she understand if he told her that he has somebody he's interested in? And the cultural difference or difference in social background kicks in. If my parents were to nag me about marrying and they were to arrange dates for me, I'd cut them out of my life. To me that's a complete no-go but I understand that it's still common in some cultures. I also understand now why Uea isn't able to grow. Somebody already mentioned that he suffered consecutive trauma and didn't really seek for professional help. Thus trusting King or telling other people off is just not a thing and both of them aren't really able to properly communicate. They both have their problems and I hope next episode won't be as bad as the preview makes it seem to be. (GOSH, I despise the mother! What a great actress!) AND the cat scene...holy smokes! Made my brain malfunction. Didn't expect it to be this way 😳🐱
Ki Tae’s jealousy was valid, cos he saw a lady being touchy and laughing with HIS boyfriend, especially when…
Might be because of cultural differences or the environment that I grew up in. My opinion is that nobody owns me. I'm entitled to talk to whoever I want and if the other party is somebody I am friends with, touching isn't something completely out of the norm. There is of course contact that goes beyond and I dare say that Wan has enough self-confidence to put the other party into place if it's too much. That being said: Why is there of need of jealousy? Ki Tae realised how he felt when he already lost contact to Wan. Maybe it wasn't that well presented in this series but it didn't seem as if he tried to get back into contact with Wan except for asking the friends for his phone number. I think that was even before the seven years, iirc. And I am sorry if I come over as rude but you don't start a relationship and get jealous over something which you know isn't true. But here I am again at my first statement. This might be a cultural difference and I can just not understand it very well. There have been much worse series, no questions asked! I only think that jealousy can be avoided with more talking and YES. I say it was too little and denial of feelings and running away belong to that category as well.
