Ep 6 lives rent free in my head
For shows we often like to poke at the potholes and I feel there are certain things here and there and convenient plot points but in the case of Love Beyond Dreams I want them to use as many plot holes as necessary to just let the three of them live because we've seen what happens otherwise and please let that not happen

Title Love beyond Dreams Spoiler
no, it's a happy ending
Before discovering gl i just read a lot but could never get into the shows itself. I will not be watching 65792 straight couples for that fifteen minute (in total) appearance of a sapphic one! And a lot of stuff on yt was behind the paywall which came to thousands in our currency so just never got into it

And yes this! The HEA is assured in every show Asian romcom and, so as to not be deductive, it is also that for most western shows i think? but just not for the extremely side sapphic couples. AO3 has been a fabulous reserve for sapphic stuff but most of the shows aren't even canonically lesbian or end up together

I'm sorry to heart about that and hope you're ok now ❤️ it will be extremely therapeutic when Lene finally gets together with her Rann 🤭

I would too! Honestly if it weren't for the thai we would still have little to no full length lesbian shows, and while gl isn't everybody's thing, it's absolutely my favourite.

This will have the most breathtaking gl wedding
I think this will be a culture shock to people outside Asia too because it's the classic mil hates dil plot and she slaps her too omfg

Western tv is so sad tbh because why are they always killing off lesbians. My friend has been troubling me forever to watch Killing eve and honestly that show is right up my aisle but it has a terrible ending. Idc if it was necessary for one of them to die but just don't 😒

Is it not a sad end na ?
Trust that the thai would never do this to a gl

Wait, so does this have a trans lead? All the summary info uses she/her for the protag?
I have not watched this but I do not think it has a trans lead because this is a common mistake. The thai pronouns and words have a masculine/feminine variation which we have in my own language too so I'll use an example from here instead of thai.

"He/she does the work" would be "karega/karegi" respectively and gay effeminate men (and also the uke/bottom in thai shows) prefer the female or softer versions and so would use "karegi". It's a similar phenomenon in thai language, where suffixes show gender determinant. They are not trans but a machine or AI generated transl can't grasp that hence the issue

I don't like it when shows that promise toxicity and hotness do not deliver but I love it when they go beyond…
And if it feels incomplete it's because that's how life feels, inconclusive and out of control. One doesn't chuck psychologically abusive mothers out of their loves easily neither can homophobic families chuck out their daughters completely. They accept a little, bargain more and ultimately choose to move on maintaining lies and having little contact
It's not easy to leave violent partners even if you know you have to and should. It's not easy to remove the veil and show us the dark side of women in career and industry. None of the three couples might be together in the future, the breakup might be dark and messy, and all this show offers is the right here right now instead of delivering the girls into some sort of send-off into the sunset/paradise

So yes, this show went there did that. And while ratings are completely subjective, here's my subjective opinion that the one star reviews on this are unwarranted and skewed

I don't like it when shows that promise toxicity and hotness do not deliver but I love it when they go beyond their boundaries to give us something more. And that is exactly what Girl Rules did, it made the characters more than what they were seemingly going to be.

Shasha is not just a player richie rich model who breaks girls' hearts, she's a victim who fought, she's a girl without a family who makes one for herself.

Gorya is not a mere goody-two-shoes foil to her character, she's a real one who's brave enough to deal with everything head on.

Min was the most suppressed one in life, dealing with ipv then confused by her sexuality by her own feelings, her homophobic family and also by queer people themselves. Even we as queer individuals can make others uncomfortable despite our intentions

Praew–try to understand my girl– how would you feel if you were, yet again, falling fir a straight woman and without little confirmation in the way of anything. She stood up for Min even when she expected nothing from her

Prim moving yards in her career but for that one girl, she's stuck in a circle. Honestly the Prim Bambi dynamic was the only toxic one but they accepted each other despite everything. As a person she's a strong go-getter and that's part of why Bambi is drawn to her

And Bambi, oh girl. They don't get you but you were fantastic throughout. The most surprising character arc and the acting delivery sold the story. It was a sensitive topic but they portrayed her with all her rights and wrongs, lies and truths

Tearing my heart apart here guys but Lene really deserved this one. Rann rejecting Lene's gift for the necklace that she always wears– if only Lene knew what it contains, would she get off her high horse and stop being a downright mean jealous brat to her

Title To My Shore
Guys please watch on the official channel https://youtu.be/7VqJa652BvI?si=q4baRaQvsGiGorZ2
That is the case now, since the other channel has garnered so many views. On the first day it uploaded the same video as mirrorlink but with an English title which made it more readily accessible to viewers and then it just kept showing up on people's suggestions

The sisterhood is really strong! And it wasn't over the top either, but they were important and told a cohesive story

Reverse 4 you is one of the gls I've rated a 10! It's phenomenal and the time travel is present throughout. I…
Then I'll have to give it a go. And yes, diversification of gl as a genre is something we desperately need
