I think the trailers are very misleading, I think the Empress was looking at 5th princess not CSS. 5the princess was so enraged because CSS covered her in dung that she let it slip she was behind the incident of CSS being pushed into the lake.

Yes you are right I think it was LBY who told the crown princess about the Crown Prince love for another but she ignored him and went ahead with the marriage.

The woman he loves is not in the scene but in the novel crown princess knew he loved someone else but decided to marry him anyway. The crow princess is not very nice, the woman is now married and every year the crown princess sends her presents pretending they are from the crown prince with the purpose to create misunderstandings with her husband causing the poor woman to be abused.

You are spot on, 5th princess get punished but LJT gets away with it, she is also behind the whole thing, I think her servant gets killed and they are going to try to implicate CSS , my memory is not the best so I might be wrong. LJT is a very nasty character that pretends to be nice, she is a proper viper, but because she is not openly vicious like 5th princess or 3rd princess she is difficult to gage. Only LBY has the measure of her.

Sorry I should have explained better Ling Yi thinks that LBY is his son. The 2 cousins exchanged clothes and his real son was killed instead. The 2 boys were of similar age and looks and Ling Yi was not involved with his real son very much. Only LBY and his aunt are aware of his real identity. Once the Ling family massacre will take place,CSS will save his life is to do with a birth mark.

He knows who his real father is, he had to accept the identity of his cousin or Ling Yi would have killed him, he was only 5 or 6 at the time.
