You might be talking about the part where she was asking him questions about the infamous soul shifter( Naksu)…
Thank you! That’s the conversation! I thought it strange, because she needs him desperately and he talks about her leaving him. I feel sad for him because he seems to go in expecting abandonment or betrayal. In Part 1 she did betray him constantly and lied, but he was more resilient. Here he just seems so sad and disillusioned.
He is finding new Naksu does tell the truth, so I hope that starts the bonding.
I’ll have to rewatch yet again, but Uk made a strange statement to BY/, when they were negotiating, that he did not want to be abandoned (or something to that effect) which brought a callback to his original pact with her. It struck me, because he was preparing to die and didn’t care anymore, why should he care?
Their first pact was That when she regained her power, the pact was over, since she would have no reason to go easy on him. He made his first comment about abandonment, that she could leave him, but he could still protect and serve her.
Body is important as much as soul since the start. In Jang Uk and his two fathers case, Uk inherited mage powers…
Late Kong was not a mage, because Jang Kang had to use Jin Mu to perform the AoS to regain his body. It said that if a mage swaps with a weak body, it is trapped, which is what happened to Naksu. She was training Uk to get the power to get her power back. That was their pact.

I agree. Didn’t see Playful Kiss. Liked This is My First Life. Liked Father is Strange, but loved the female lead better. Maybe she was trying to emulate that leads over the top acting, but to me her AoS performance was emoting, not acting. Her attempt to squeeze out tears in Chapter 7 after she found out Uk was Uk took me out off the moment. I did like the death scene in Episode 20 when she realized she killed Uk.
I think I liked her a lot in the realty show “in the Forest”. She really loves kids. But that wasn’t acting a script.
QUESTION OF THE DAY,Name the character you hate with PASSION. (NAME ONLY ONE)
Mama Jin. “I don’t want to lose you again” as she tries to make Naksu into a imprisoned baby factory, and calmly sews the GPS thread into her neck with no anesthesia. Also, to Master Kee, “I can kill her when I can no longer stand to see her face” also slapping her before the embroidery job. And her abuse and neglect of Cho Yeon. Then to Unanimous Council. “I know I brought you a fake daughter last time to be my heir, but here’s the genuine daughter, I swear! Trust me with the relics! I just lost my daughter for a few years, and that pesky ice stone has a mind of its own.”
I know many will rebuke me for this but Naksu with Seo Yul isn't as bad if you think about it. With her memory…
Nope. He only held her interest with the birds. Uk got in first with Adult Naksu in Part 1, and even though he doesn’t recognize her, her met her first in Part 2. And he is not a hustling negotiator, like Uk and Naksu.
Uk had to constantly renegotiate to keep her by his side. Now Naksu is doing it to Uk to get what she wants. Yul would be exhausted by constant need to keep up with new terms. He also does not have that strong streak of self-interest. He is the noble warrior type. Great SML.
Probably the same people who think that Jang Uk's character development is bad because he isn't as warm and cheerful…
The plot synopsis was always clear - it was about the young mages growth. Naksu was top of her games, so she could only have character growth. And in Part 1, it was coming to terms with the body she swapped to, that was not capable of doing Killy things and that there was really no purpose to her assassin life, since there was nothing to avenge from her original grudge. She had to accept her body as it was. Which she finally did, and would have had a happy life with Uk.

Why do people like to tear down? Let me tell you, JSM’s acting was not that great at the same age. They are comparing a young up-and-coming actress with a veteran with what, 12-13 years experience? And who did NOT have the same chemistry with her ML off and on screen?
These are comments I've seen alot so I'll give my say about them..1. Some people are complaining about Jang UK…
Exactly! This is a Hong Sisters drama. They first conceived it in 2019. It is their reputation as writers that brought this big project with big budget to life. It was their original intent to use a young cast, and quite frankly, I feel this was centered around UKs character, and LJW, once he was cast in January 2021. AoS started filming May or June of 2021, after cast spent months in training. JSM didn’t start filming until August or September 2021 after MHM finished even though she was cast in July 2021.
Instead of enjoying the meal being presented, people feel that they are better cooks, and criticize. Be like Yul, stop eating it, if it is not to your taste. It’s beyond rude to criticize the effort made by the chef.
Nothing against actors , actress. That stupid body , memory is the really bs in my view. They could have relieved…
I believe BY was a plot device all along, and the writers did not expect the obsession with her origins and Naksu’s assassin persona. In Part 1, they just explained her change to MD to amnesia, after she was rescued and renamed MD by the adoptive grandma. No explanation for why no one recognized the crest on her eye cover, which is why Mama Jin embroidered it, so she would always be found. Should have used the nifty tracking bracelet sooner, and sewed the thread on the kid from the beginning. Bingo, logical solution to losing her! And how did Papa Jin explain losing her on his father- daughter jaunt 13 years ago?
I have some questions regarding the relationship between the Crown Prince and Jang Uk.At the beginning of ep 2,…
Jin Mu was CPs teacher and advisor when he was young. He still depends on him, even though he is also aware JM lies. He feels that JM has his interest at heart. Jin Mu plays on CP vanity, and insecurities, because CP hates to be mocked and feel small. That’s how he OKd Naksu’s rampage, because JM just asked if he wanted Uk to be taken down a notch because he was the true King’s Star. CP did not like the lie, because he felt Uk was mocking him. It Carries on to Part 2, because he is still taking credit for being Kings Star. He is upset that Uk is still unbending. As Uk said, CP tries to think of Uk as an irritant and is petty. Because he did not accept that Uk and Md really would walk away and leave him with the reputation, he ruined their lives. UKs revenge is letting him take credit for harnessing UKs power, knowing it irritates him, and mocks him openly now. CP knows that Uk is too powerful to be a negligent opponent, and he knows the extent of devastation he caused to Uk, but won’t admit it. And Uk reminds him he is JMS puppet. He is reminded he gets manipulated by JM.
He is finding new Naksu does tell the truth, so I hope that starts the bonding.

Then the bells of doom jingled….

Styling is a production issue. She has no control over that.
