I watched anime as a kid and then rediscovered it around 2015. Towards the end of 2016 I came across a discussion on an anime site regarding k-dramas. I visited Korea earlier that year and was already somewhat interested in their culture especially K-beauty. So going back to this anime forum, they recommended I watch Boys over flowers and I loved it! After that I kept consuming more and more content and 3.5 years later I find myself completely engrossed in every thing Korean including K-Pop, K-Beauty, and of course K-Dramas. I’ve also been trying to learn the language but still have a long way to go. In this time I’ve also branched out to some Japanese, Taiwanese and Chinese dramas but K-dramas continue to dominate my watch list. I grew up watching American shows but after watching the diversity in Asian dramas, I no longer find much interest in US shows. I’m especially sick of the reality shows and procedural that dominate the airwaves. The people around me don’t understand my love for Asian culture and think I’m weird for not watching what they’re watching but I don’t regret my journey to Asian dramas. MDL is where I come to share my thoughts.

I keep hearing so many good things about this show but constantly hesitate because of the episode count and BL storyline. Fans of this show, please give me a video or something to motivate me enough to finally watch this drama.

Where to watch this drama? I don't think it's on Viki or Netflix
Thanks everyone. I found it on Viki

I don’t agree with your point of view but I respect your opinion. Just came here to say that I LOVED your review. The kisses were the most memorable part of this drama.

I love the fact that unlike south asians, most easy asian actors have a clean shaven look. I’m all for team no-beard.

I’ve had mixed success with my family. My mom was hooked on dramas for a while but then stopped because she was tired of reading subtitles. My dad is too close minded but he likes music by WINNER even if he won’t admit it. I still have hope for my sister liking Kpop, she’s been learning to tell the BTS members apart but still struggles, I don’t know why.

Interesting article. I guess everyone is shaped by different life experiences. For me, if this is what the 30’s are supposed to be like then I’d rather go back to my 20’s. The only thing I can relate with is the point about life not going according to plan and having to adjust with your job to make a living.

While working from home, I’ve been multitasking by finishing dramas that I’ve either put on hold or find too boring to watch with my undivided attention such as the crowned clown, Accidentally in love. Also some good shows like Touch Your Heart, Search: WWW, When the Weather Is Fine

Idk they're... a little too old. I would cringe seeing them in a school uniform... ^^'
Alice Ke is 35 and she made it believable so why not a Korean actress.

I’m glad someone else appreciates her talent. I’ve seen a couple of her dramas among which The Beauty Inside really made an impact. Right now I’m watching Search WWW and she’s amazing here as well. I also really like her outfits esp. in TBI. Not sure if she has any input in choosing them in dramas but she looks fantastic in whatever she wears.
