his face was way more well contoured and eye catching than hers.

Looks is one thing and in most of the dramas, there will be atleast one scene of that handsome hero showing his body or taking shower etc and FL will blush after a peek. And if that is reversed and hero shown as taking a peek at heroine that way, they are dead in the social media ! Comments wont stop raining and most of them will have a keyword 'pervert' for sure. Objectifying women is wrong but that doesn't make the remaining
gender i.e men as next option. I dont know, I just feel thats uncomfortable for men as well!

I think I know the cure for this love sickness. Imagine him being fat (with triple chin,potbelly and all that)and bald, sitting on the couch drowned in junk food!😂🤣....poor things, they starve themselves to look good for us on

Of all the actors, Ao Rui Peng uses his eyebrows in acting like nobody's business!😅 It suits him very well. He looks very handsome and convincing when his eyes and eyebrows take charge of the scene together!

I have to say kudos to the writer for taking such huge risks in deciding the fates of several characters from beginning to end. There are heart breaking sacrifices that make us cry even for characters that appeared just couple of episodes before. The brilliance of the writing is in making us accept those endings however sad they are. Overall, a very satisfying watch. Definitely deserves more rating than this.

Just finished watching and what an amazing ride! Story is a treat for those who love good twists and turns. All main characters have stunning good looks.Ao Rui Peng, man, he has such an extraordinary bearing and well chiseled features. Production values are high quality with no cheap graphics even in a single scene. This deserves much better rating for sure!

I was in a difficult position too while watching the princess who stops at nothing to get the man she loves. Right when I was about to pity her, she does something horrible.

Peonies look very beautiful but looks like one needs to have a green thumb to grow them😊..and yeah hopefully in 2nd season Mudan gains enough sense of security in life and pursues fun and happiness instead of sinking herself more into business matters.

Probably😊 apart from metaphorical blossoms, I loved how they showed blossoming peony flowers. I am actually going to buy real ones once spring starts here.😅

Apart from main wife, all concubines are same level I thought ,but like you said, why was Mudan more important than the next concubine and she needs to accept tea? May be there was no main wife and the only available lady does the formality?🤷‍♀️

Yes I believe both are being very conscious as their past traumas( him about his parents, and her about her previous marriage obviously) wouldn't let them be free minded and risk taking in love, like regular people. They showed Mudan looking disappointed when she knew about another concubine but she pulled herself together and pretended it did not bother her.

If I were Jiang ChangYang, whose main talent is know the hidden intentions of people, I would know if Mudan loves me for real or not. If she loves me for real but not ready for a relationship, I would wait until she is ready. My strong belief in this aspect is, its easy to hide hatred but very difficult to hide love.Eyes and body language give
away unless the person is a very good actor and puts all energy into covering it up.

Dylan Wang did not act but lived that role!

Also, I felt Mudan was trying too hard to make herself look like a money minded and only moneyminded person infront of ML. It felt like she is trying not to fall in love, or trying not to accept that she fell in love. Even the ML never accepted in this season that he fell in love with her. Hopefully they will overcome the past traumas that made them so and get together in season 2.

Now that I know there is a season 2, I can understand how almost all characters got no closure. I was catching my breath to watch what terrible acts LiuChang might commit😳😅 due to his hatred towards himself and everyone around.
