Hey I woke up to a very nice and clear explanation about how the honorifics are used. I appreciate your time taking patience. This will definitely help millions out there who just read the brief one line explanation in the subtitles. Forget about the series I thank you very much for letting me know the first hand information as google says differently each time we ask. Honestly, you should think of writing a handguide😊for those who like to watch Chinese shows but confused about lot of things.

I am under the impression that Oppa in Korean is equivalent to ' ge ge' in Chinese which means any guy of older brother's age. And one 'ge' is real brother. If I have to depend on subtitles, I will definitely be bothered to read '3rd brother' every time she calls him. I asked many of my friends to watch this and I had to explain its not awkward and requested them not to minimize their ratings because of this issue. Its the problem when English translation is difficult for certain words. Even when I asked friends to watch 'Hidden Love' , subtitles kept saying ' brother' whenever she called him ge ge.Friends asked how come she has crush on him and calls him brother.I had to explain them
that ge is brother and ge ge can be any older guy.

Even for the short time they were together, they go through so much to get that close. And all that intense interaction of helping each other even at the risk of 'dying again' like she says to the SML before falling into water is, when she thinks of him as brother. That cant count as nothing. Even if thats all just counted as two people neglected by their family helping each other, i'd say it'll still make it weird when she keeps calling him '3rd brother' after their wedding night and even after having a baby. I would have loved the series much more and rated it a 10/10 without that awkwardness. May be its weird to people like me who has to depend on subtitles and have to read that she still addresses him as'3rd brother' till the end of the series! Actually lot of people in the comments said they were irritated by the voice of FL but I wasn't even slightly bothered because all I know is, she is speaking and I need subtitles to understand what she is saying. So her voice and diction doesnt bother me but when I keep reading '3rd brother' in the subtitles, it definitely does.

You will eventually know that the ML and FL have different mom and different dad which makes them unrelated. Somehow the writer felt its quite possible to quickly switch the feelings of 18ish yrs of sibling love into romantic love after knowing that they have different parents.

But let me not turn off anyone who wants to watch this, with my comment below. The story is well written with new surprises at every turn. All actors are good looking, even the old ones. The scheming and unexpected twists are totally worth the watch. If SML isnt that evil, we can even wish for the FL to end up with him instead of her 'Sanga'😅

Yeah she could have some nickname for him with some childhood event explanation. That could have saved loads of viewers from flinching with pain in the brain!😂

This series is very engaging with constant twists and surprises.But I wish they had some other relationship than brother and sister in the beginning. Probably it was required to justify scenes of FL staying overnight or be alone with a guy without damage to reputation. Even if we know later that they are not siblings, its still disturbing as she doesn't stop calling him 'sanga'(3rd brother) even after their wedding night🤢 and even after having a kid!!I skipped all the last episodes just to avoid hearing ' Sanga' in her high pitched voice in romantic scenes .

Its probably me!😅I perhaps tuned my mind to expect something concretely and refusing to accept a different model. I should probably retune my mind again to accept the mixture of tempos😌

I myself would loove fun scenes. Stories with dark elements desperately need light moments to let the viewers breath in between.But all I wanted was a proper segue between two polar opposite moods. A very serious talking goes on and sudden cartooon sounds and then the intensity resumes. It was difficult to register as smooth flow in the brain. I wanted to blame someone for that but i felt its an insensitive thing to do. Someone probably worked really hard day and night to make that happen and I simply sit on couch and judge leisurely. I dont want to do that. My complaint is like not wanting to sit in an uncomfortable chair in the theater while watching an interesting movie, nothing more.

I love the 'out of this world' feel this drama is giving. I watched 4 episodes only so far, though. At the risk of getting torn apart by fans, I still want to say that the abrupt protrusion of comedy in the middle of very serious scenes is spoiling my adrenaline surge. It's like an intense scene suddenly says,' Cocomelon!!' Pitied the person who had to do bgm as he/she has no choice but add animal sounds or comedy track right in the middle of such serious scenes! I hope I can get over that soon as I really want to know what's going to happen next in that very unique, interesting storyline!

I am at 4th episode, fascinated by he intricate twists and the BGM so far! The image of that clay cat at the end titles of each episode has a great impact on me. The expression, posture, and absence of mouth gave it an enchanting and enigmatic aura! Kudos to whoever created it! About the drama, its difficult to believe those are just actors, and the story is not really happening to them!🙂

Actually its the political part that made me drop the show, not the disappointment in the main pair. Their pair is interesting and makes us want to know what will happen next. Both leads are very good looking too. The political part, the spotlight kept shifting from one to a another making me lose interest. Perhaps all pieces will be put together in the later epsiodes to reveal the big picture.

Good to know she at least loved him. I have watched some shows where FL is utterly indifferent to the feelings of ML almost until last episodes, and its great if this is not one of them. Actually in the rain scene confession, she gets off and runs after him to clear the misunderstanding. Thats the first time she lost her stiff composure of pricess royal and followed her heart. Dont know if her character in the later episodes developed towards being more political or more heartful.

May be I should give it another try to see if I can finish too. I liked how they knew about each other's 2nd life from the game. I was expecting very interesting scenes but there wasnt much chemistry. There was a highly emotional scene when he gets off the carriage in rain and tells her how much he loved her in 1st life and I thought their relationship will completely turn 180degrees from then but nothing much changed.

Dropping this drama midway felt like ending a bad relationship.I tried my best, and even after giving up, I wondered if I should have showed more patience but then this peaceful relief inside made me feel I did a good thing. May be the subtitles didn't do justice, or I was not in the right mood for that kind of story setting. Also, I felt the FL kept bullying the ML in the 2nd life, and it's annoying to watch her keep slapping on his head for fun. Would she be fine if he did something similar to her for his amusement? Women empowerment is showing women wont take crap from anyone, not that she should treat her husband like crap. I complained as he didn't seem to feel like it was a sweet thing. I dont know if he admits to her in later episodes that he used to look forward to her slappings😂, in that case , I have to totally apologize and withdraw my comment!

Yeah absolutely! There were no
mother-in-law scheming events that prolong for a dozen episodes.In that way its stress free for the viewers😅

I enjoyed watching this drama. Luo Yunxi can handle dozens of emotions with just his eyes! Hats off to him! This drama is such lighthearted one without prolonged dumb misunderstandings that tire the viewers. Another aspect I loved about this drama is, how they let us feel the height of emotions in certain scenes by taking couple of moments with amazing background score. FL is so sweet. As a non-chinese person who has to depend on subtitles, I still enjoyed her voice and the fun way she was carrying her dialogues. She is like cute doll with sugary sweet voice!
