I didn't get that part too. Their son, brother, and husband was the one that committed treason, spread lives to destroy another family, yet the stupid family blamed the people that discovered their so called saint was a fraud and a murderer. Nasty family!

I don't understand men like Lou Ben, he's very educated and well travelled but his excuse for his bad behavior was because he was not allowed to be an official. How does that even make sense for an educated person to say. He also knows that actions have consequences, anything anyone does stupidly will affect their family, so he allowed greed and stupidity to destroy his own family. I was so sorry for his wife, his mom, and brother, because they have been through a lot living with his aunt and taking all the humiliation. At the end of the day, he hurt them the most.

@DramaAjumma, words cannot describe how beautifully written the thoughts of episode 43-44 are. For the English speaking audience, enjoying the drama and reading such a well written analysis of a character is just beyond words. Episodes 23 & 24 are beautiful turn of events. What's wrong with the immortal Lord (brother) first he won't let his brother have a relationship because he was betrothed to somebody and if he gets to know that any girl fancies him, she's exiled. Now, he wants Dan Yin to kill the Chi di woman which will affect Xiao Run's return to the heavenly realm. Some brothers are really terrible!
