Children who have supportive parents don't know how good they have it. It is good when parents and elders understand that everyone has their own destiny regardless of who their parents are and their wishes for their children. In this drama, because the parents failed to change Tuo's dream, they think there is a chance with his younger brother. They fail to see how unhappy they are making their little boy. Let's see how this story unfolds.
Viewers are used to seeing cold and arrogant male leads. In this drama, the roles are swapped, which seems to evoke a different feeling in viewers. Also, marrying into the bride's family, what was HW thinking.? What's up with dying and having three months to live? Where is the doctor's report to confirm that statement? Why tell the poor guy you have three months to live after treating him poorly for three years.? Is he supposed to make the next three months the best months of her life? Does he owe her that? I'm so annoyed with her right now!

Remember he did it to save her from Lu Wei who was bent on having her. That was the only place Lu Wei couldn't go to molest her. Also, because he is the Empress's nephew, he was doing whatever he wanted. and getting away with it.

Even in reality, there are parents like that who believe that their children must do as they say irrespective of the fact that might not be what the child wants for their own life. Even twins are different in every aspect, want different things, and have different values. Now, because the father is a surgeon, his sons must follow in his footsteps. That's how they mess up their own children.

But Zhen went against the Eldest princess at their official first meeting when she (Zhen) spoke her mind and walked out on the Eldest princess. I was so proud of her. In that era, couples could not move far away from family to avoid conflicts as we can now. You can't pay me to tolerate a mother-in-law. I don't think any guy is worth such sacrifice 😒😒😒

That makes sense. I thought so, too. Why would the CP give her something found by the person sent to frame Zhen? I knew she was the Royal one they kept referring to when Xu Wei started troubling Zhen. So, she's setting up both the CP and the Eldest Princess, yet she says she wants her son to be an ordinary person. The evil people do!
How did the crown prince have Zhen's lost jade bangle? Is the crown prince the one behind the mask? According to the empress, she was gifted the bangle by the CP.

It is good that the writer did the opposite of the book in some areas. At least he/she was creative in that aspect. Regarding SH, Lu needs a love rival to keep him on his toes and as a good enough reason to stand his ground against his mom. Also, Zhou is treading carefully because he somewhat believes that Lu is unaware of what his mom is doing in the dark. SH and XY are a match made in heaven because of their backgrounds. They have so much in common and would thrive together as a couple than Lu and XY. I don't understand why XY is willing to sell herself short for someone she doesn't fancy to have court support.

I understand what you are saying about the love rival. Sometimes, love rivals are needed to push the slow-witted lover boy into action. It is good that he is introduced because Lu's mom would never approve of Zhen. Remember what she did to her when they first met? Also, Lu knows that Ran opposes his relationship with her sister because of his family background. So, it is a do-or-die affair for Lu to get the girl, no matter what! I'm also shocked Su hid the evidence. He reasoned that he didn't want it to fall into the wrong hands, but he didn't know Official Zhou either. So, why did he trust him? Also, Su didn't know the relationship between Lu and Zhou before he came in, so if he intended to cause a conflict between them, it wouldn't work at this point. Lastly, Zhao knew he would be killed in prison and that it was just a matter of time. He has so many opportunities to tell Lu who the mastermind was but he didn't. So, why did he write it in his blood at the last minute? Anybody would have picked up the evidence. I thought the mastermind was the empress, but the eldest princess? I didn't see that coming! What reason does she have to rebel? Does she want to be in power instead of her brother because she's the firstborn?
It was a beautiful drama. At first, I didn't know what to make of the king and later found that he was a man with conscience. He did the right thing by reforming his court and removing all the rotten eggs. He also respected his woman take advantage of his status to make her be what she doesn't want to be. I liked how he stood his ground against his mother and refused to let her have her way. Not many sons can do that and get away with it. All in all, it was an interesting work of art.

At first, they might be very confused with the changes especially with the freedom women now have to be who they want to be (in some society). We know today that women can rewrite her life story if she chooses. I met one of them in January 2023 at her doctoral ceremony. According to her, she moved from TX to GA in 2008 with three little boys under the age of 10 and an Associate degree. She said she told herself that shouldn't be the story of her life. So she picked up herself in a totally new environment and did the impossible. She completed her studies in May 2022. The person would be blown away if an ancient person met this woman. In how many societies in the world today can a single woman with three children go from nothing to something? I think we have more courage and are more determined to succeed as a person than our predecessors. In high school, my friends and I talked about what we wanted to be. I had no clue what I wanted to be, but because we just watched a drama about a lady that became a woman of substance. I said, I think I want to be a woman of substance someone to be reckon with in whatever field I am. Now, I understand that a woman of substance is a remarkable woman. I think our ancestors would be impressed by how far we have come even though we are not as talented as they are, we've used what we have to advance in life.

I knew Li Di was a douche bag and his mom was a despicable human being as well. He didn't have time to make babies with his wife at home but had plenty of time to impregnate his concubine. What a slap in the face for Ran! I agree with official Zhou, who told Ran to leave him. But she can't just leave like that. She had to make him pay for the crime he committed against her dad first.
