I'm from the Bahamas, where the Age of Consent is 16 (for heterosexuals) and the Age of Majority (adulthood) is 18, so I have no problems at all with their relationship. From my perspective, she's a full-grown, legal adult.
However, if this website is correct, the Age of Consent in South Korea is 20: https://www.ageofconsent.net/world/south-korea
So if they were to have a sexual relationship, it would be illegal (Statutory Rape). Which makes me wonder why on earth the writer chose to make her 19. Why not just say "20" and avoid all this drama and controversy? It's a bit baffling... But anyway, it does explain why South Koreans may find it "disturbing".
That one comment, however, about him being a pedophile, is just plain ignorant. That person needs to crack open a dictionary and read the definition of pedophilia.
I've never read the story, so I'm not sure if it's actually an adaptation or if it's just "inspired by". Hopefully someone who's familiar with it can answer that. :)
Is this show "Supernatural" or "Fantasy"? I'll start watching it tomorrow, but I want…
I also feel it's more Supernatural rather than Fantasy. There's no indication (so far) of any other magical creatures (like you'd find in the typical "urban fantasy" genre - eg., The Dresden Files). The Grim Reaper would fall into the "ghosts & spirits" category. And the "Goblin" seems to be (so far) more of an immortal human rather than an actual goblin (non-human creature).
The first 2 episodes were amazing! Love everything about it so far. I just hope it remains consistently good until the very end (with no sad/tragic ending!). *crosses fingers* :D
Yet another Chinese historical that I would *love* to watch, but... I'll wait until it's over to see what kind of ending it has. Happy endings seem to be *extremely* rare (for this country/genre combo), and I personally *hate* bittersweet/sad/tragic endings.
So, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for a happy ending. Although, I'm not too optimistic on that...
What is with SBS cutting scenes out of dramas and then releasing them afterwards?! Apparently important scenes…
Ugh... again?! After Moon Lovers, I'm so sick to death of this two-versions BS. I was wondering if this was going to become a new "trend", and to see them pulling this crap again really has me worried. :(
Anyway, thanks for the heads-up (and for the links), Byul. Much appreciated.

Asian Crush also has a channel on Roku, so you can watch this on the TV (also for free, but with commercials/ads) if you prefer. :)
