Oh, I get it. Trust me. But when I'm taking in a story, I also judge the characters about what I think is logical. So, her pain comes from it being the man she loved. But he and his army were hurting too. Her brother was of no concern to him just like he was of no concern to her brother. Even after the betrayal, she was sticking with her brother. That's how they got caught the second time.

See, me, that would have gave me pause. Because if someone risked their lives to save mine, what I'm not going to do or abide is harming them in return. I would have left him and at least joining my father's brigade at that point. I can't stand ppl who stab others who are kind to them in the back.

Yeah, it upset her, but because it didn't happen TO her, she still found a way to forgive her brother. Until he betrayed her. Then it was all bets off.

Theirs is a complicated love and so entertaining to watch. I don't blame him for not wanting to be the crown prince, though. Ugh, what a destiny.

I wouldn't have bothered to save him either. Not after what he did. No matter how easy it would have been. Her brother made himself his enemy with his betrayal. He stopped being just "her brother " at that point.

She can't experience his pain because she didn't have to suffer it. And like you said, "all is fair in love and war and her army benefitted" . So taking that into consideration, his initial reaction to her is just.

But we know now that she has experienced her brother's level of betrayal, she probably wished he had died in that river.

You know what's wild. If Shiqi had let his father, who hates him, die at the hands of Sun jing, then, his brothers wouldn't be a foil, he could have defeated Sung jing, put the Imperial Grandson on the throne, with his mom acting as Regent, and married his woman and returned to Laolan Pass.

But Nooooo, he had to be too damn filial. And now he has to be too damn bothered. 😂

A person could feel wronged. Ppl feel wronged all of the time. There is whole reddit "Am I The Asshole" because the OP didn't do something someone wanted them to do and those ppl feel like the OP is an asshole.

So, the man she loved didn't save her brother. That's as far as she took it. And that alone, to her, justified her being angry with him. Just like she was angry about that. Thinking he was heatless. He has the same right to think she may have betrayed him since that's where her loyalties lied.

Once he calmed down and thought about it. He realized he was wrong to assume that of her. Has she considered that she may have been asking too much of him to save her brother who betrayed him?

He brother revealed to her what kind of a man he is. She was angry that he did what he did, but she didn't really look at his character. He is a man who will do anything to get what he wants. That's what her boyfriend saw in her brother. That's what stayed his hand.

I did she her POV, which is why I don't agree with it. I don't consider her thinking her boyfriend should have saved her brother AGAIN after her brother hurt him so badly.

She can feel pain that her brother "died" but she shouldn't blame him for it. It was unreasonable to me. Instead of stabbing the ML in the back, her brother should have been tracking down her cousin who tried to kill them the first time.

She didn't look at the situation from the ML POV, only from her own pain.

Even his soldiers wouldn't have wanted to save all of them after that betrayal. They were worried that he even saved her and wondered why he was still willing to work with her and her army again.

So, I saw it from both POVs.

You pretty much nullified your own point. You are only looking at it from the FL PoV.

Yes, they are falling in love. But she has lied to him and tricked him several times where he's found that charming and challenging.

Her brother is special only to her and her army. He was never friendly with ML and I'm sorry, but after that level of betrayal, he owes her brother nothing. He risked his life and the lives of his soldiers who trust him, to save them the first time. And her brother's obsession with her and jealousy of him gave him the bright idea to turn on the ppl who saved him. He deserved what happened during that second attack.

It is unreasonable of her to believe that ML should have once again come to the rescue or a man who got a lot of his soldiers killed, betrayed their alliance, aligned himself with their mutual enemy,, lost ML the city he gained, which meant the soldier who died fighting for it, their deaths were in vain, humiliated him because now his soldiers are upset that he is in love with a woman who's army betrayed them.

And at that moment, she didn't do a good job defending her innocence either and he was outraged at the discovery. But once he calmed down and thought about it, he did trust her. But she wanted to punish him more for something no sane person should do. Save the life of someone who wants to kill them. He saved her and her friend. He saved who mattered to him. And as for keeping her there. First off, she needed to heal and secondly, he needed leverage to take back his home. He had to force the CUI army under her father to uphold their alliance. She was never in danger.

And as you've said, they were from conflicting armies, so as much as the notion pained him, he had to consider that it was all a trap as his right hand man was saying.

It's a great show and I'm enjoying it. And at this point, she finally sees her brother for who he is, but she still doesn't know how far he'll go.

I'm enjoying this series a lot. I like the chemistry between the main leads and the multiple jealous asses waiting in the wings for their chance as well as the villains. I love clever MCs.

This isn't a flaw, but just my opinion. She has a lot of nerve getting mad at him because he was angry about her army's betrayal. Like, she had been doing sneaky shit to him the whole time, deceiving him, lying to him and he just laughed it off or accepted the challenge.

But after saving the life of her friends, leader, and her, only to have that same leader stab him in the back which cost him his soldiers, credibility, trust, and advantage, she has the nerve to be mad that he didn't just take her word for it.

How can he? Especially when she willingly went back to the ppl who betrayed him instead of leaving the Cui army or trying to stay with him to prove her innocence.

Then she has the gall to get mad because once again, they were attacked by their enemy and Li Ni didn't come to all of their rescue. Note: Cui Lin should have been focused on eliminating instead of being worried about who she was with,

Anyway, why SHOULD he save y'all again? The last time he did, your army betrayed him. Just be grateful he saved you and your friend. She always wants everything her way.

Okay, it's original for the most part. At least I haven't come across a story like this. It took me a minute to figure out why she kept refusing Prince Yi's affection. But in the restaurant, she let her guard down and it began to make some sense. Also, she's stubborn as hell.

Now why she thinks her evil ass sister should be Empress is where it gets messy. Because if you're supposed to do the right thing the second time around, ensuring someone who will kill anyone to get what she wants into one of the highest positions in the empire is NOT smart nor wholesome..

She's practicing condemning ppl to petty deaths by helping her sister gain power. All for what? Because she feels sorry for her? Or is it because that used to be her goal?

Whatever the case, it doesn't make sense. Hopefully she'll see the folly of her planning before it's too late.

She is not angry about not know his identity , but about the fact that when he proposed to her, he knew that him…
To be honest, she had tried to kill him three times prior to that. Bringing the body to the court could have killed him and his family. Sending her assassin to kill him and burn down his house. Yes, he let it, but her assassin set the fire and locked him inside. So, if we're talking about who did who wrong the most, she has the deck stacked. Yeah, he should have told her about him being the adopted son too. But she was also using him at that time and even after..

That's why when his daughter was crying, repeating her sentiments, she realized that she was treating that child the way her mother treated her. And now she can focus better and give that family a fair chance.

Ooh boy, it's getting harder for me to like the FL. I respect her determination for revenge, but hate how she's treating the ML. She is vindictive, wanting to punish him over and over again for not being honest with her about his identity, as if she wasn't doing the same thing. She's mad that his scheme, that he didn't follow through on, could have hurt her. Ignoring the fact that her schemes could have killed him and his family. Also, she's tried to kill him 5 times. And he still wants to be by her side and help her. He still loves her.

To me, she doesn't deserve him..she had more love and patience for her mother, whom she never met before and upon meeting her, faced nothing but cruelty. She was willing to endure all of that for a "mother's love" but can't give it to her niece/step daughter. That innocent child shouldn't have to endure her cruelty.

If she wasn't so arrogant, and learned how to listen instead of thinking she knows every damn thing, she'd have more success.

im sorry but who in the world think they would go free like that with all the threat and shit to the dad... and…
She is full of herself and very arrogant. She will have to calm herself down and actually start appreciating her husband and his knowledge. I'm tired of her punishing him for him not telling her the truth about himself when she really didn't volunteer any info about herself either until she was forced to.

She's manipulative and hypocritical with the wrong ppl.

See your point. She's quick to judge on ML sometimes & yet tolerate her evil family far better. However, she did…
Yeah, I know. But her order to her guard to kill him is what resulted in that fire being started in the first place. So that is still partly her responsibility. She did show way more patience with her family. At first, a cruel mother who was starving her and trying to force her to marry. She had endless patience and she never met the woman prior to her birth. Her step mom literally tried to kill her when she exposed her crime. And dude and her guard helped her out.

So, I'm glad to see them progressing by ep. 19.

I laughed when he died. It was a death he deserved. I loved how Fu just took his bride and gave less than a damn about the rest of them.

His sister is the type of petty brat I love to watch never get her way no matter how much she forced her will.

Yeah, intake into account she's only 17. But she's smart as hell too. He will guide her the right way. I loved the end of EP. 19. If "not giving a shit" was a man on his wedding day, it would be him. 😂

She's a hothead and so far, he's saved her twice from killing ppl. Her step mom when she was choking her out and her father after what he did. She gets blinded by rage and does stupid shit. She now has to learn to play the long game

Look, she needs to cut dude some slack. She came in town automatically lying and being hostile to him. If he wanted to, he could have easily arrested her for the murder of her family. He never intended to. He has his reasons and then ended up falling for her. And that is AFTER she tried to kill him twice, burned down his home and all his earthly possessions, damn near killed his entire family and daughter. And he was still willing to give her another chance. Which she tried to kill him a 3rd time. Thank goodness he has quick reflexes.

Imma need her to stop acting like she doesn't have her own set of issues. She was using who she needed to get what she wanted. But want to play victim when she finds out he was using her. Even though, he helped her with her own schemes.

On EP. 18 so, I'll see where this is going.

Double standards. It’s only toxic when the ML does it. But they’ll excuse a very toxic FL and give it a 10/10.…
She totally blew it when she made that dragon dish. I knew she was messing up. Like why are you doing the most right now. Knowing damn well the villains knows you can cook better than anyone else? Should have just served the food in a simple bowl instead of being fancy. She exposed herself and nearly got ppl killed with that nonsense.
