Title In the Name of Blossom Spoiler
I agree, it’s just a bummer. I think it’s a little wild though that the murderer of her mom just gets off…
I'm thinking he didn't want her to have that vengeful blood on her hands. Like, after her rage settled, could she handle it? But yeah, I agree. It annoyed me and seemed like one plot device to push their relationship back even more.

Usually I'd disagree because China has very strict censorship laws but in this show's case, it's not just kissing…
They are both on that BS. I'm sick of both of them. Like, they have a lot of nerve dealing out relationship advice, but won't take it themselves.

They are supposed to be two clever, reasonable adults. Is it so hard to be honest?

Can somebody please tell me if He Weifang is lowkey flirting with Jiang Chang Yang in the future episodes?? 😭😭😭
Look, don't hold your breath. If you've just started watching the series, it may never payoff or wait until the last 10 mins of the final episode.

For me, it's not about seeing it as a romance drama or not. I didn't start this viewing it as a romance, but if…
Exactly. The writers included the romance, and then every silly obstacle to derail it. The "will they, won't they" is frustrating. Watching them take one step forward, then five steps back makes no sense when they're dealing out romantic advice to everyone else, but not taking it themselves when they're supposed to be sensible, clever adults.

Personally, I've given up on if they'll get together. I fast for past their repetitive conversations on what their relationship means and blah, blah, blah.

Now, I'm just watching for the intrigue and treachery.

Yes i totally agree with you , she sounds dumb to think the ML will just be good all of a sudden, Like common…
Lol, I know. Like that turn in the story really disappointed me because I hate stories that want to turn the ruthless man into your average Joe. Now, it's apparent he hates killing ppl who he feels doesn't really deserve it. But he has no problem killing those he feels deserve his blade. Her not wanting him to kill anyone knowing who he is, makes her an annoying character to me. You are trying to marry a soldier in ancient times. Where it's kill or be killed. My guy has assassins after him and you don't want him to kill to protect himself? If you don't shut your ass up, woman! Let this man be dangerous and sexy and love on you.
On The First Night with the Duke Jul 9, 2025
The only thing that concerns me, as I'm still enjoying the series, is the played out "misunderstanding" trope. I hate that. Two people need to talk. if the only way you can make drama is to have the characters not communicate like reasonable adults, then that's just lazy writing. I also don't want the FL to be easily manipulated by others. Because that means she can't think for herself. That's another trope I hate. Otherwise, my other thoughts on this drama is in a spoiler comment I posted below.
On The First Night with the Duke Jul 9, 2025
Well, I'm still enjoying this, but I also saw a lot of this coming and it's okay. As soon as she was pushed into the water, I knew it was the 2 FL, Miss goodie two shoes. it was obvious when you watch as many of these as I do. It was obvious because she's the villain you least expect. Her actions don't match her words. For instance, during the selection process, she told the MFL that she didn't want to be there and would probably lose the first round. But instead, she fought hard to make it all the way through. That was your first clue that she wanted to marry the prince just as much as the other two women.

The two main villains are teaming up, but I'm wondering if their goals align. 2FL wants to marry Prince Yi Beon, where as 2ML wants to marry Cha Seon Cheak. That could be interesting where they force marriages on both, splitting the couple up, or at least attempt to and fail. But if 2ML goal is to kill Yi Beon and marry Cha Seon Cheak, that defeats the goal of 2FL and what happens then?

That's where my curiously lies. Now, what concerns me at ep. 9 is MFL wanting her man, who's known as the "King's Hunting Dog" to turn over a new leaf and be good. Like, did she not read the book? Does she not know what times they're living in? Does she think he can disobey the King and walk away without any repercussions. She's never had to deal with the king. She's never had to really face those kinds of challenges. If she's easily swayed by rumors or the fact that he kills, like , girl, you KNEW that going into the relationship. Be realistic.

she's going to have to make a decision to either stand by her man, or be boring and run away, or fall for the lies and manipulation of the villain. That's what I don't want to see, because that's a trope I hate. Don't be stupid. I hate stupid main characters.

Ppl who don't really know what they're doing, yeah. But like with remakes that are successful or songs with different covers that are hits, those instances, yes, someone else did it better.

Naw, they think. She was thinking about the script when she read it and complained that it was crappy and she could write one better. When given the chance, she's trying to follow the same script she critized. That's what's wild.

Title A Dream within a Dream Spoiler
The seventh Prince might not hate his uncle's guts, but I do. i'm also tired of watching Yingming's fake outrage…
Exactly. Her fake outrage gets on my nerves. Like woman, you never give him a chance to fully explain himself without badgering him or cutting him off. Even when she thought he was gay as Li, she didn't let him explain because she feared the answer. She does that when she's afraid the answer will make her question herself or doubt the script.

And Guihong has spent his whole life hating on Heng and being jealous of him. So, he'll make up excuses to hate him, especially since the woman he claimed to love doesn't want him, but supported Heng.

I peeped that he was the real villain of the story 3 EPS in because he was willing to frame and kill people for his own personal reasons. Good ppl don't do that.

But I agree, like, where is his punishment for breaking the law?

This is the Yi Meng we all want...!!! Not so eloquent with her words, but she tried her best to help Nan Heng…
I did love that she finally sat down and did some self reflection and saw that he was the hero the whole time. But my enthusiasm deflated when she went back to being her usual self. So, let us hope the writer fixes that.

Won’t Song Yi Meng feel really stupid when she finds out Nan Heng and Li Shi Liu is the same person. I hope…
She finds out and then gets even more annoying. She blames him for playing her for a fool, EVEN THOUGH, she never listened to the man well enough for him to explain who he really was. She wouldn't even believe him when he said he was gay, would she have believed him if he said he was Nan Heng and that he wasn't the villain?

She thinks she's the most righteous and smartest person in the room because she read the script, but doesn't fully understand or accept that the script has changed. What she thought she knew to be facts aren't facts anymore.

Title A Dream within a Dream Spoiler
She really needs to get over herself. FL is mad arrogant. She never wants to listen to ppl and even when she does, she doesn't take it to heart because she's so focused on thinking she has all the answers because she read the script. Never once taking into account that she could be wrong just because key moments happen,, but maybe, just maybe all of the characters aren't who they originally were.

Like, she hasn't paid attention to the fact that her sister isn't against her, nor does she want the ML. Instead, she ran off at the mouth and whatnot that made things worse.

Her sister has tried to talk sense into her, but she may listen for a second, but then reverts back to her old self the moment she gets scared or things don't go her way.

She thinks she's the smartest person in the room because she read the script. The one time she put in some effort to help the ML, she got mad when she realized he didn't need her help. But why should she expect him to wait on her to save him when all she's ever done was push him away?

I'll be glad when she stops being the roadblock to her own happiness and realize that the script has changed.

Title The Princess's Gambit Spoiler
I'm enjoying this series thus far. The ML gives me all the feels. Grayish morals. A good guy willing to do bad things for the greater good. When swimming in a sea of sharks, you can't be a goldfish.

The female lead slightly annoys me. I like that she's cunning and can think fast. I appreciate her independence and survival skills. However, I'm deducting points for her demanding more of him than she gives of herself.

For example. They were both enemies when they met and he had to marry her. Because she was blatantly untrustworthy, he has his own survival skills and did what he thought he needed to do.

Once he got to know her a bit more, he actually let his guard down and began trusting her, and even falling in love with her. But she NEVER trusted him, took for granted the fact that he trusted her and expected him to continue to trust her even when she did certain things that would make it hard for anyone to trust her. She wanted him to trust her just because she told him to and all the while never trusted him enough to be honest or seek his help.

That's why she ended up in the situation she did by ep. 23.

Also, I hate amnesia tropes.

Maybe they will say “I love you” after their first grandchild is born 🤣
It might be. Ep. 7 of S2 is actually 39 and these two seemingly clever and bold adults can't seem to sit down and discuss how they really feel about each other. I hate the miscommunication trope. Especially one that's gone on THIS long. I've been skipping those scenes because they're boring to me.

I'm thinking about to watch this drama, but I'm not sure yet.Can someone please let me know, what this drama is…
It's got a ML who is very flaky IMO. Every other incident, he kicks the FL, who is devoted to him, out his house, but claims he loves her. As if he can't regulate his emotions properly.

It's really gone in too long..38 EPS and counting of them still not communicating their true feelings. Like, it's not cute anymore. Just annoying.
