I admire your "no excuses" policy and your sense of putting responsibility onto people. I agree that Gao…
People's actions speak for them and his actions have been appalling. If Gao didn't accept the treatment, Shen would have been forced to change, but he does, so Shen doesn't. That Omega scent has been on Gao since they were teens. The only that that's probably changed is that it's growing stronger and Gao is growing weaker and the inhibitor is not as effective.

But Shen has had long enough time to treat Gao better. Why is he still the boy who puts gum in someone's hair and bullies them just because he secretly likes them?

There's only so much advice I can give to a person who won't take it and there's only so much patience I have to listen to a person complain about their life that they refuse to change any part of it for the better.

One of my fav. Quotes is from the anime Ruroni Kenshin when Hiko said "it is foolish to listen to someone who will not listen to you."

Even Gao's doc told him to seek therapy because he's tired of talking to him, too.

Shen, being the type of person he is, doesn't deserve Gao's devotion. So, he had friends in the past who used him... Fine. Leave those ppl alone. But for someone like Gao, who he's been the one using since they were teenagers, he should value that relationship since Gao has proven that his feelings are genuine. But he doesn't.

He can have all of the reasons for why he's treating Gao like crap, every day, for YEARS, and none of them will matter. He's a villain. Plain and simple.

Gao is with him because, maybe in some deep creases, he likes the abuse. Being hated verifies his own self-hatred.

As for his dad, he can stand up to him when he wants to, like when he told his dad that if he shows up at his job and gets him fired, he won't be getting any more money. Honestly, that money would be better spent on hiring a hit man than wasting it on his father. His dad will never leave him alone if he keeps that door open. And harassing his sister, what is his dad going to do to her when she's in the hospital? If he tries to drag her out .. beat his ass.

But like I said in the very first post, that requires having a spine.

Shen could still have paid for those bills. No excuses. No one sees their friend struggling, if they are truly caring, and does NOTHING to help them, unless they aren't real friend to begin with.

As for his ppl gossiping at the job. They do that anyway and had he paid anonymously, no one needs to know.

Him taking credit wasn't because he had to cover for Hua. Because he could have said "No, I didn't" and Gao would have just wondered who did? It's not like Gao would have instantly known Sheng did it.

But as soon as Shen lied and took credit, Gao felt even more indebted to him. That was the result of that lie. Shen likes this man clinging to him like a life raft. It boosts his ego to be so worshipped by this one man. He needs it like air.

Let Gao grow a spine and some self respect and leave and see how Shen reacts.

Like, I said, I find their interactions annoying. Every scene is Shen spitting in Gao's face and Gao bowing his head and asking for more. As an audience, the writer obviously wants me to feel sorry for Gao and look deeper into Shen to try to understand why he's so mean.

I don't care. I'm sick of them and until their dynamic changes, I will tune out the repetitive insults, because not even Shen's insults are creative. Every day, he's bitching about that Omega scent. And only on Gao, he doesn't complain about the other Omega's who work for him. Only because Gao is his punching bag and has been for over a decade.

That's a long time to be doing what they are both doing.

I think when ppl see Shen asking about Gao's whereabouts when he's not around, they take that as him being worried.

But for me, I'm only seeing it as him wondering where his human punching bag is at. He can't get in his daily insults if Gao's not there to receive them. Because as soon as Gao is there, he unleashes the venom and he can see that what he says affect Gao in a negative way and he's never stopped. So, to me, Shen and Gao's relationship isn't one I'm rooting for.

Both of these relationships are toxic Shen and Gao and Sheng and Hau, but only one looks very painful to be in. At least Hua and Sheng enjoy each other's company. I can't say the same for Shen and Gao. Some very unhealthy fetishes going on there.

I do respect your opinion and analysis of Gao. But I will flip the script on it. He is the only one who can overcome his self-hatred and fear.

My experiences with ppl like him is that you can't save them unless they're ready to be saved. And if you fight for them, they will leave you standing alone, because they've always been too afraid to fight for themselves.

His father is a threat, yet he keeps him in his life. He answers the phone calls, why does his father even have his number and know anything about him? With a father like that, he'd have to learn the hard way not to mess with me. And as long as he's willing to be abused, the abuser won't stop.

His sister being in the hospital is a problem, but that DOESN'T excuse him continuing to stay with Shen.

And bringing up why Shen is still with him,... So what if he keeps him close. So do abusive husbands to the wives they beat. Who benefits from Shen keeping Gao close? Gao's obsession for Shen has only fed Shen's ego. Shen even took credit for paying for the hospital bill only because he knew it would make Gao feel even more beholden to him, while he can continue to kick him around. What does he get out of insulting this man who's been devoted without fail, to him for over a decade? When will Shen get tired of abusing him? When Gao has a fatal reaction to the pain meds and injections. Will that be the deciding factor?

Also, if Shen really cared, knowing Gao's situation with his sister, why didn't he already pay for the bills. He could have done so anonymously, but being that generous isn't in his personality. He'd want credit.

Gao could work for Mr. Sheng and probably make more money and not have to worry about his Omega scent or be insulted all day every day. But no, he chooses the hardest, ugliest road he can.

So, I can't give him passes for choosing to harm himself mentally, emotionally and physically for the sake of someone who has proven he doesn't appreciate him. Like Gao knows the choices he's made and continue to make are wrong, but he doesn't want to do right by himself. Not yet, at least.

yah like what was the reason for the additional public humiliation? girl aren't you doing this bc u 'love' him?…
It's just cliche, terrible, lazy writing. These characters better be happy the men, (cause it's usually FL characters who do that) are Soooo in love and devoted, that they never give up.

Especially when the truth finally comes out, it's not even 1% as bad as the goofy character made it out to be. She was acting like this man was going to throw himself off a cliff into shallow waters if he found out. And when he found out, because he was already suspicious, he didn't believe that nonsense anyway.

Naw, i'm good on those spoilers, unless they change the story. I can wait to find out. Yeah, the main couple is where my interest lie. They are more entertaining. Gao and Shen, whenever they're on screen, I just want to fast forward because he may be able to take being a doormat this guy will rub his shit-stained boots on, but for me, it's intolerable.

Gao is the kind of person, you can't even try to stand up for him, because the moment someone tries to tell Shen he's wrong, Gao will just get mad at them and/or offer excuses for Shen and say "It's okay. I'm okay," knowing damn well he has never been 'okay".

Even his doctor told him he needed therapy. Their scenes are all about abuse without deviation. Even when he contemplated leaving, he refused to do so.

Hua is the MC and I want to know what his whole game plan is. Sheng is already in love and ready to mark him, especially now. Hua is making him so desperate romantically and professionally, because excluding his company from the meeting was so deliberate.

He's CHOOSING to allow himself to be abused. He could quit that job and work for another company. But he has CHOSEN to follow Shen for over a decade, allowing that man to abuse him the whole time. He's not in some situation where he's a slave without the option for freedom. He has enslaved himself due to his own self-hatred. I refuse to make excuses for people who have no self-respect or integrity. Be them fictional or not.

Yeah, I love this Enigma scenes too. He's a ruthless badass and not only does he drop the omega act, but also the nice guy act. That's why I'm wondering how Sheng will accept the real him once he's trapped. He'll probably be too far gone in love to back out.

I'm curious as to who will mark who or impregnate who between the S class Alpha and an Enigma.

As for Gao, I 💯 agree. He annoys the hell out of me. His weak personality, the way he talks, the way he lies to himself, the way he cowards. They way he lets Shen just insult him every chance he gets.

I have a hard time, if not impossible time feeling sympathy or empathy for ppl who refuse to fight for themselves.

You know what, I'm glad he made her ass beg for his help the second time around. She approached him and used him in exchange for the little help she provided to him. He was there for her every time and didn't ask for anything in return. Then when he tried to tell her how much he cared and wanted to help her even more... here her ungrateful ass tell him "I only trust myself."

Oh really ? Well if that were the case, why did you depend on him to come through for you all of those times that he did. She cut him off cold, basically threw him away like she didn't need him. Then low and behold, here so comes, crawling back, begging for his help and I'm glad he didn't make it too easy for her. That's what she gets for treating people who willing helped you like crap.

I'm all for her getting her revenge, but she acted like she did it all on her own, when she may have died or suffered at least 3 times had it not been for the ML.

I hate when they write ungrateful characters who pretend like they don't care or need help when they obviously do.

Yeah, the doctor wasn't direct enough, so it allows Shen to just assume he was talking about the scent of Gao's omega and not Gao himself. So, we'll have to wait for Gao to grow a pair.

But I'm loving Hua acting like a brutal mob boss and possessive over his man. 😂

I predict he'll end up on his death bed and his boss will be notified and rush to his side. At that point, all will be revealed and they'll have to proceed from there. Or, he comes to his home and realized that Omega scent is coming from Gao Tu.

In any case, I don't think Gao has the guts to take a stand and the way Shen will find out will be clearly from circumstances Gao can't control.

But, I hope I'm wrong.

I know, right. He's pathetic. If he actually said "I quit and also, I'm an Omega". I bet dude would be the one to chase him to get him back. But Gao Tu is the type to kick himself when he's down and allow others to do the same.

And Hua Yong is truly an enigma because I know he's a master manipulator and he wants what he wants, but just how dark is his true personality?

I have to look at my list and get back to you. But it dedicated about 10 long EPS to that nonsense and pissed me off. I had fast forward through it. Because not only did her side of the story slow down and become boring, but it halted the adventure of the story. I still say it is one worth watching. Please do, but don't feel bad if you decide you need to skip those later episodes to get back to the meat of the tale.

Yes! Like it is never a good idea. Every time I see it done, it makes me dislike the character, because not only does it show their cowardice, but their lack of faith in the other person to be able to handle the situation.

They would rather deny themselves and their lover happiness and a promising future, than just be honest and agree to deal with whatever happens next.

One of the worst instances of this was in a series where.... Spoiler....

A woman, whose man was searching for her after she was kidnapped, he was ready to start a war for her and he showed up, but she ran away because she thought it was the better idea. That once she was out of his life, he would be happy and move on.

And on top of that, she was pregnant and they were married. So, now you're going to deny him his chance to experience his first child being born too!!!?

He hunted her ass down in desperation looking for her to save her.

And I'm thinking any man willing to bring an army to rescue you isn't a man who going to see that you're running from him because "it's for the best" as an option. He isn't just going to read your little note and say "oh, well, if it's for the best, I might as well move on with my life."

Joy of Life had me mad addicted. I watched the first 2 seasons and was bummed the third wasn't out yet. But it's coming soon this year which is great news. Joy of Life is unique in the sense that it mixed Martial arts, romance, intrigue, politics, sci-fi, historical and fantasy all in one. And the main character is charming as well as smart but not without his flaws. It goes hard, I will say.

Oh yeah, I've seen them both. They were good. So far, my fav is The Double, Joy of Life, Rebel Princess and Love Like the Galaxy. Oh, I like Nirvana and Fire, too. That's for historical Cdramas.

With this series, it was a bit of a let down for me. I would have rated this higher, but I didn't like feeling robbed whenever an action scene showed up. This series was 49 episodes, and 40 of them were about people looking for a person, place, or thing. As soon as they find one person, now they need 6-20 episodes to find another.

I did like that it took a different approach to the usurping of the throne where the guy who stole it was the better choice. And she had to learn the lesson her mother taught her about not hating people. I liked the lessons that she learned and the journey she took, but this series could have been 24 episodes to tell the same story. A Kdrama could do it in 16.

Yeah, I agree. That staged fight should have been shown so we could see how it was done. I mean, I already accept that they try to play off 100 soldiers for thousands for these sparse fight scenes. I get the budget for actually having 1000s of extras is too much. But if the scenes are excited and well choreographed, I'm happy. This series, I think only one action fight scene was halfway filmed and that was the one where the FL wanted revenge against the Bear clan for killed her friend.

What were the other two you mentioned? Not sure about the abbreviations.
