The director is really bad at romantic scenes. Good directors bring the best out of characters and Xu Kai proved in many dramas that he can pull off emotions.

Those people are only nitpicking a reason to bash the drama because their faves aren’t on it, or because they don’t like Xianxia genre. To complain about repeated scenes is just stupid all Chinese dramas have the same repeated tropes among each genre.

Yeah my opinion differs quite a bit, this is in my top three already with TMOPB and Ashes of Love, Love and Redemption and Love and Destiny bellow a bit, and then the rest. I just love the storyline here.
