wow. he’s kind of heartless. he didn’t have to hurt her to get his point across. could have just mentioned…
Technically she didnt ask him out or confessed her feelings directly so how can he reject her feelings directly? His cells saw him getting too closed to Yumi breaking his work/professional principles, so it was kinda harsh way but understandable.

At the very beginning, this drama was very good. The concept of a high school girl like Seong A being a shaman at such a young age is something I have honestly seen for the first time, and that immediately made it interesting. The main storyline about Gyeong U being born with misfortune, where everyone close to him ends up dying, and the karmic connection with Seong A’s shaman life had strong potential.

The starting episodes really pulled me in.

But as we progressed, the shamanism angle started taking over a lot. I understand that it is the core concept, but considering the genre, I expected a bit more balance with romance. There was romance between Seong A and Gyeong U in the beginning, but in the middle it completely disappeared. Then a cute closure. It was sweet, yes, but it felt like all the build up was lost somewhere along the way. Their chemistry had potential, but it never fully reached it.

I also had multiple theories while watching. I binge watched it in one day, so I was fully invested. But some theories started contradicting each other at the same time. Certain developments did not make complete sense. The mysterious lady introduced at the beginning had such a strong aura, but since we already knew she was the villain, it did not feel that impactful. Everyone already knew she was the villain, so when things started unfolding, it did not feel shocking. They were reacting like it was some huge surprise, like oh my gosh, she is doing villain stuff, but as a viewer, we already saw it coming.

At some point, it genuinely felt like they were putting themselves in danger. Like khud ke pair pe kulhaadi maar rahe ho tum (you are hitting an axe on your own foot). If you know who is behind everything, maybe stop trusting the same person again and again.

Now about the second male lead, Ji Ho. He was very resourceful, and honestly, he could have helped a lot more. He was with Gyeong U the entire time when Seong A was not, and still he did not know half of what was happening. They kept saying I will tell you later or it is not that serious. If you want Ji Ho involved in the plan, then tell him everything. Either keep him in the loop properly or do not. That half situation was frustrating.

The acting was good. Not bad at all. Everyone did their job well. No complaints there.

Even beyond the romance, I feel like the shamanism concept itself did not shine the way it could have. The constant variation and modification of theories weakened the impact. The finale, which was built up as something huge, ended up feeling underwhelming.

I would have rated the plot around 5 or 5.5, but since I binge watched it and liked the overall vibe, I gave it an extra point.

Final rating 6.6 out of 10
Potential Yes
Fully delivered Not really

On Yumi's Cells Season 3 Apr 20, 2026
Despite I'm loving the current episodes, I feel that it would be too much to grasp given only 8 episodes, we are almost halfway but the Son Rok still clueless about Yumi's feelings, and i really wanted to watch a loving healthy relationship of Yumi without fearing her breakup.

I mean it's obviously better to drag a bit here and there than to rush, and the cells are soooo 🥺 i would've loved two more episodes 🫤

That baseball writer Kim was exhausting. I hope he’s gone next episode.
From the preview I feel he'll be gone by first half of next episode:)

She was 33 years old during her last breakup fast forward to three years so she's 36-37 year old
If you see Yumi's POV she's just feels the age might hinder her possible chance because PD Shin is younger to her. As a asian myself, it's kind of stereotype that the man should be older to woman with no age limit whatsoever but when it's woman older than they make a big deal even if it's two or three years

And I feel others were just trynna make a deal outta nothing or reminiscing that they are the old and wiser gang.

On Yumi's Cells Season 3 Apr 20, 2026
I felt Yumi's feelings might’ve been a rush, but I think they’ve been portrayed as the childhood crush typa vibe love, you know, where heart’s racing and you don’t know exactly why you like this person, you just do. And it is making sense if you remember the main reason why Yumi and Yoo Babi finally broke up is she stopped experiencing those feelings with him, "How can someone in love, be so calm" and her final love story contracts it. She was finding ways, small almost silly ways, to get paths across because obviously naturally they weren’t working together anymore...

I liked that they finally gave us some insights of Son Rok's Cells finally, it makes very much sense why his personality is that way.

And i actually could quite relate where his social battery drained quickly when he was in the places he didn't want to be & only his rational cell was working outside his home to survive yet another work day!

It’s better that way. Because in the last two seasons, in the last 6 episodes, the couples started straying…
True but I'll miss those cells TOT
