Omg I've never read a better review for "Flower of evil" !It's indeed exactly how you describe it. I've watched…
Awww thank you. I'm humbled and delighted to read your comment! :D I feel exactly the same. Their relationship is considerably the best i've seen in kdramaland. I see it as a "completed" work.. In order to keep its momentum. They made a wise decision on ending it on that beautifully hopeful note.
I liked her since the first moment i saw her in "Cheese in The Trap" I somehow weirdly relate to & indentify with her. She seems like an excellent choice to be featured as a FL in movies. Because she seems adorable, down to earth & feels genuine and mostly relatable.
Love it!:) It always bothers me how the fl HAS TO end up with the ml no matter the circumstances, like it’s…
It kinda is like an unwritten rule. That's why one is the ML and another isn't. The second ML is usually eye-candy, ideal bf type for the fangirls to crush on & fantasize about. He also is "almost" always a little too late to recognize the FL's worth/is hesitant about her/has other priorities... Basically, he has to be a wrothy opponent, but he always fall short and i think it's better that way, in most cases.
I know that feeling of wanting to punch that Chairman out of orbit xD Darn that geezer tested my patience! On a more serious note, i genuinely think that Park Sae Ro Yi handled it in the most efficient, intelligent, responsible & dignified way possible. I celebrated his choices for not allowing that person's greed & hatred cloud his judgment. Which was satifying on the long run.
I like how more & more webtoons are turning into Kdrama. I really like Kim Go Eun. Oh i remember this actor... He played a hate and pity-worthy character in "Itaewon Class". Maybe he'll be good at this?

I agree, it's not just Korean society. In fact, i have plenty of reasons to believe it is a global/universal thing. It's just more highlighted in certain "politico-socio-cultural" environments.
I feel so bad for this girl, Hyun Joo. I'm not a fan of this girl group but darn! They "allegedly" bullied her to the point of having a mental breakdown and trying to commit suicide several times by overdosing. People need to look at the patterns, the repeated harmful behavior, the lack of remorse, the gaslighting, the group shaming, ostracizing and singling out a member. I have plenty of reason to believe that this is NOT a mistake but a calculated, mean-spirited plain ol' habit of bullying. I'm glad they were called out for it. Now it's up to them to change it, work on themselves, do some repenting and reparations or turn a blind eye & pretend it never happened and hopefully suffer the consequences.
Flower of Evil was a great breakthrough makjang-wise for me. They built their relationship from scratch, they trusted each other, they battled against overwhelming odds, they worked on themselves, they put their loved ones first, they watered that thorny bud until it blossomed into a beautiful flower. It was very satisfying seeing them choose their relationship over and over again. ♥
Nothing will top the first one. Imagine Jung So Min playing YEH's role lol Too bad she's too old to be casted as a high schooler.. Urgh i really miss Yoon Eun Hye on the small screen.. I'm wishing for a big comeback.. T . T

I didn't know the number of victims was that high! I also just found out that this probably went for years. I read that the anonymous victim said they had proof "audio recordings of Ji Soo" and witnesses maybe? I understand these kind of situations are immensely complicated. Harm cannot be undone. But the least good and awareness we can bring out of this tragic situation is better than nothing. :/

Hmm why would they "identify" themselves when the law protects their identities? So far, i haven't seen any victim's name in the other celebrity cases that went to trial, except "victim A, B,C".. So i don't know if that happens often.. Also even if there is no "criminal trial" the victims can still be heard, have settlement agreements and monetary compensation. (even if the intention is to damage control) showbiz people may pay big amounts to "save" a star's "reputation". The money won't heal their wounds but at least their pain has been acknowledged, this can bring them closure, and they can have therapy and maybe a "decent" life economically speaking. I'm saying all this on the basis that he acknowledged and apologized for his "alleged" crimes. So i'm sure his legal team have already sought a way to resolve this matter, or else he won't be able to post such a letter.
I'm confused, conflicted, disgusted and disappointed. "I am a human being; nothing human is alien to me" Therefore i am able to imagine myself in both the victim and the offender's places. 1- I believe in second chances, rehabilitation and reform, because this case is -so far- not a clear cut for me (like Seungri, Park Yo Chun Jung Joon Young and the likes). Those individuals are unredeemable. So far, i cannot say, without a reasonable doubt, that is Ji Soo's case. 2-I also believe in justice, punishment and retribution. His bad karma is now going back to bite him, so he ought to accept it and be a better person, make amends, pay his dues, talk to the victims, try to reach a settlement, serve his time -if necessary- for the crimes he "allegedly" committed, undergo psychotherapy and repent. 3-I also believe that (if what i've read online is true) somehow the social gap/environment, inequality and corruption in SK has enabled him to do such things. These are extremely complex underlying socio-politico-cultural deep-rooted issues... 4- Acknowledging and apologizing is the first step towards reversing one's wrongdoings and the path towards redemption is not easy. 5-The context where, when and how this all unfolded is crucial. (His age, mental state and environment and the time these events happened are important) I also don't know the whole story yet. So i'll wait out to make a judgment, since it is not my place to do so. 5- My heart goes to the victims and their loved ones. Now that they've come forward and have a chance to speak their truth and express their grievances. Hopefully they'll receive a fair trial/ a reasonable compensation, and find it in their hearts to forgive and move on gracefully with their lives.
The ignored good ones, you mean the classics? Can you list them, I'm interested in good older dramas. Right now…
Partially, yes. I can't remember all of them right now but at the top of my head i can mention: Fated to Love You, Secret, Catch The Ghost, A Gentleman's Dignity, Full House, Goong, Queen In Hyun's Man,That Winter The Wind Blows, Where Stars Land, The Greatest Love.. (All of these are romcoms)
I feel like this list is filled with not-so-good series and many good ones are ignored, probably because the ones that are mentioned are quite recent and it's a personal list... So everyone has different tastes.. But i'm also glad that my top dramas are all here: Signal It's Okay, That's Love I Hear Your Voice Strong Woman Do Bong Soon Eulachacha Waikiki Flower of Evil Coffee Prince
